AVOID AT ALL COSTS! This place is truly the worst salon in Dallas. I was excited to try it out as I just moved to the neighborhood and wanted to find a local spot to get my hair done when needed. The girl who did my hair, although very nice, left my hair flat, frizzy and half curled and half uncurled. I left looking like I had two different lengths of hair on either side. I had to then shower and redo my hair on my own making me late to an event. This was supposed to be relaxing and a time saver for me and ended up being a stress and unnecessary expense. I have since tried calling (very kindly) to try and speak with a manager. I have left 4 messages with many different associates, all who of which tell me there is no one who can help but him. He clearly doesn’t care enough to call. I wanted to speak to a manager before going public but it’s been two weeks with no care to address the issue with me. I will tell everyone I know and the entire neighborhood: AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

I really wanted to like this place. But paying $55 for something that I didn’t want doesn’t entice me to leave a good review. My stylist and I unfortunately had a pretty sizable language barrier, so she was very much unable to understand what I actually wanted. I wanted a simple blowout with a round brush. Nothing else. I had hurt my shoulder that morning and doing my usual just wasn’t in the cards, so I simply needed someone else to do it for me. Nothing more. Because I sat in a chair that did not offer a view of a mirror in front of me, I didn’t see until afterward that she had curled my hair using the round brush. Why?… The hair on the top of my head was completely flat. How?… She just kept putting more and more hairspray after I said I didn’t really want or need any. Unless you have a specific stylist that you frequent at this location, do not leave it up to chance and let just any stylist take care of you. The stylist was very nice, but it simply wasn’t what I wanted and the communication barriers were frustrating in this experience.

Was hoping to write a more positive review, but the young girl did not seem to have much experience doing a blow out. She did a decent shampoo though. However, she seemed scared to massage the shampoo in and too timid to tease my hair. And I can only assume she is rationed a certain amount of hairspray as she was very hesitant to use spray even after I asked for extra spray in certain areas of my hair. My hair was flat against my head within 30 minutes of leaving. But at least it’s washed and I can go fix it at home!

Due to reading all the negative reviews, I was skeptical since i have a sensitive scalp with extremely long hair. So I booked a classic blowout with "Emily 💋" "Emily 💋" was so kind and courtesy to make sure I was comfortable. She really listened to my needs of what i like and dont like, and MY HAIR LOVES HER! NOT A SINGLE TANGLE. MY SCALP FEELS RELAXED & CLEAN! I will definitely come back and book with her. I would love to see what else can she do!

I’ve tried to give this place a chance, left multiple appointments in tears from terrible styling jobs. Always frizzy and looking unfinished. I’m done with Hair Bar.

Sindy was awesome! What a great shampoo! I left the Hair Bar feeling like a million dollars. Beautiful salon, friendly staff and great mimosa (I got two). I cant wait to return to this place! All of these girls rock!

Did I not receive a confirmation call or text but more importantly. The day of, like two hours before my appointment, they called to tell me that they couldn’t do the style I was asking for. Now it’s looking like I am just out of luck for this party as everyone else is busy now. Why tell me you could do the style if you couldn’t? I could have made other arrangements

I went to the Hair Bar this past weekend for homecoming to get my hair and makeup done. Karen, the hair stylist, was so professional throughout the appointment! She is an outstanding hair stylist. I also did my makeup with Rebecca who was also amazing. She knew exactly what to do and everything turned out beautiful. I will definitely be coming back to them!

To start I was the first appointment of the day and I sat waiting for 15 minutes because none of the staff was on time to work which was frustrating. Aside from feeling rushed in the chair so I could leave in time my hair is disgusting from the products they used. The stylist over teased my hair which is now in knots and there is excessive product build up so I have to wash my hair after less than 12 hours. I had asked for a simple beach wave which should not have been difficult or resulted in the teasing and excessive grimy product. Very disappointing experience will not be back.

I am completely dissatisfied with my "updo" and was forced to take it down and redo my hair for the wedding I attended because it was falling down after less than an hour. For $85 I was expecting a white glove service, a knowledgeable technician, and a hairstyle that would last for several hours. Instead my stylist spent less than 10 minutes on my hair which remained wet (I came in with washed hair), was covered in too much hair spray, and was described by a friend as looking "like you just left track practice." When I expressed my reservations over the amount of the service compared to the quality of the service at the front desk I was told that this timing was normal for an updo, but upon further reflection I cannot imagine that this is the quality I should expect when paying $85 (plus tip). If for some reason the stylist could not deliver on an "updo" I would have expected her to suggest an alternate service (e.g., blowout, the cheaper bun package), rather than charge me the full amount for a style that I cannot even wear that was falling out after less than an hour. I called the salon twice and sent two emails to try to figure out a solution but am disappointed to share that I never heard back.

I had my bridal hair and makeup done at the Hair Bar for just $138 plus tip. My makeup artist was absolutely perfect. I told her I wasn’t used to much makeup and wanted a natural look. She asked me if she’d done what I wanted at every single step and gladly adjusted things until I was perfectly happy. She made me feel very comfortable expressing what I wanted. I wish I remembered her name so I could recommend her! Unfortunately, I can’t recommend my hair stylist. She was fun to chat with and seemed to know my hair type (which doesn’t hold a curl well) and assured me she could get it to hold curls with minimal hairspray. For my hair trial (which I paid full price for), the curls didn’t last even a couple hours, so we decided we’d need heavy spray to make it through a whole wedding day. Surprisingly, on the morning of the wedding, she refused to add hair spray to my curls even though my bridesmaids and I asked her over and over. We ended up spraying my hair ourselves in the back of the church. Pretty hairstyle, but having our requests denied over and over was not what we paid for.

They cheated me and I paid nearly 100 dollars ( with tips) for a treatment advertised on their website to last for a month. It did not last for 5 days. What was worse was they did not reply to my emails, did not refund or even allow a redo-retouch. Three days of torment as I have called several times to talk to the owner/manager - all in vain! My hair is in terrible shape thanks to them.

Front desk personnel was rude. Bathroom had not been cleaned. There was also a blue chemical dripped on the vanity. I was the first client for the morning there was dark long hair all over the bathroom floor and the floor was sticky and the beautiful marble was grimy I explained why I was leaving without service the straw that broke the camels back was the rude attitude of the front desk receptionist I was told that her name was Kelly. 😳

I had a very poor experience here yesterday. This place made me late for my engagement photos. I arrived promptly for a 2:00 eye makeup only appointment (which takes 30 minutes). I had to wait 15 minutes before I even got called back. I told her I needed to be gone by 2:45 because I had to get to photos at 3. She was rushing and I could tell she didn’t really care how it was going to turn out. It wasn’t my fault she was running late and the way it was handled was extremely unprofessional. The website says the eye makeup package comes with primer, eyeshadow, concealer, mascara, eyebrow fill-in and lashes if you want them. All the girl did was eyeshadow and lashes. The eyeshadow looked ok and the lash application was pretty sloppy. She asked me when she was done if there was anything I wanted her to add or change. I asked her if she could fill in my eyebrows to which she said she didn’t have a color that would match me. I asked her to put mascara on my bottom lashes and she clumsily smudged it all over my lash line and it looked terrible. Thank goodness I had my makeup bag with me so that I was able to finish her job. When she was done, I had to fill in my eyebrows, put on concealer, and add more mascara. She did about $15 worth of work in about 20 minutes and I paid $45 for it. An unbelievable rip off if you ask me.

Very poor job of styling my hair for a wedding. I booked a blowout with braid, and was told upon arrival that anything beyond a basic 3 strand braid or 2 strand twist was not included. They didn't have any suggestions of what could be done instead, no example photos, and just tried to upcharge me. The stylist and owner/manager weren't super friendly, though I think that was just my stylist. Wash was uncomfortable, and the stylist seemed inexperienced. We agreed upon a style that I found a photo of online and the end result looks nothing like it. I didn't have time to stay and have it fixed, and ended up paying $70 for something I could have done myself. Very disappointed and will not be using them again. I will say, everyone else getting their hair done seemed very happy and their styles looked gorgeous! Might have just been my stylist.

Absolutely loved my experience at the Hair Bar! Won’t be going anywhere else if I need to have a professional and beautiful blowout for an event. I got my hair done in the early afternoon for my graduation party, and it stayed perfect all night. Top notch service at a reasonable price, and delicious mimosas while you have your hair done!

Honestly one of the most pitiful buisnesses strictly because of how selfish, manipulative & disrespectful this horrible “owner” is. The employees are slaves to her, and that’s it. She has no reguard for any of her employees or customers, in fact if you are a “troubled client” because you want your hair done a certain way.. the second you walk out the door she goes right to talking trash about her customers and even employees. Most clients get upset because they get with a decent stylist and the next time they come in to get thir hair done, the stylist is GONE! Why? Because this is an absolutely horrible establishment. She has been the owner for maybe 3 years and her longest employee lasted 6 months.. does that tell you anything? If you choose to go here, bless your sweet heart because your not contributing anything good. There’s thousands of salons in Dallas, so be wise and explore your options before making this horrible decision!🙂

The best place ever! we walked out feeling great and got exactly what we wanted. My hair is thin and fine. Stylist Morgan listened to my concerns. Her experience and knowledge is exactly what I was looking for in a stylist/salon. Super friendly staff who were able to get four girls in same day and get us out within an hour with fabulous hair. Totally recommend. Affordable too!
