I came today for a root touch up and Tony did a great job. Not only did he touch it up, but he also did a slight trim to make sure everything was even. Very sweet staff and nice and clean! Definitely recommend this salon!

I loveee going to 22 Pell!! This is going to be my 4th year getting my hair done by Tony and each time, he surpasses the last!! He is amazinggg and his team is so meticulous and fast. I do not let anyone else touch my hair besides Tony! Amazing service

I walked in to this store with no high expectations and I knew it was a mistake. First of all, the hair washing process that barely lasted 4 minutes. It was ridiculous. Next comes the haircut with my stylist Samson. I showed him a reference picture of how I wanted my haircut to look like BUT it came out TOTALLY DIFFERENT FROM THE PICTURE. I know it is impossible to get exactly the same l haircut but the one I got was pure disgusting. My bangs had no layers and the middle of my head HAD TO MUCH LAYER which makes it looks choppy. Based on my experience, this place does not reflect on the positive reviews on google and tiktok. You basically get what you paid for.

DO NOT GO IF YOU HAVE THICK HAIR OR WANT TO KEEP YOUR HAIR THICK…THERE WAS NO COMMUNICATION ABOUT THINNING MY BEAUTIFUL THICK HAIR !!!!! Horrible. Very sad my hair was thinned out so so badly it’s going to take year before it grows back properly . The hair stylist used thinning shears far too much and basically thinned out 2/3 of my thick hair . I have thin hair now and I’m so disappointed. They make it look good with the blow out when you leave but once you wash it you’ll realize you got botched . :((((( don’t recommend for thick hair AT ALLLLLLLL, I’m actually depressed over this now and I don’t have any choice but to grow it out :((((

I had an amazing experience at Pell 22. I went in to get my roots done and as my natural hair is very dark, I was initially worried that the new root color wouldn’t match with the rest of my hair. I was worried for nothing because Tony worked MAGIC. The dye color he mixed was the perfect shade to match my already dyed hair and blended my roots so well. The lady who applied the dye and shampooed me was also great, she was very careful and always asking if I was doing fine. Overall amazing experience and I couldn't recommend enough. Tony has been working with hair for decades and it really shows.

The haircut itself is great, however it wasn’t what I had asked for. Specifically too much of my hair length was cut off, even after specifying more than once I wanted to keep my length/it looked like he was cutting off too much. Very upsetting.

Wash, cut, and blow out was $45 cash. Walked in at 6 pm on a Wednesday and was seen immediately with no wait. Cut was perfect

Great service from Tony and staff. My lower part of the hair was previously colored but Tony did a great job evening the color out and that was exactly the color that I wanted. Would highly recommend anyone who wants to dye/bleach their hair!

Heard about 22 Pell hair salon on TikTok decided to give it a try as I needed a trim, overall not a horrible experience, but not my best haircut. I came to the salon with my hair already washed and asked for a layered trim with curtain bangs, and requested Elaine (as I saw she had good reviews) I didn’t make an appointment because walk-ins were accepted, but I did have to wait 35/40 minutes before being sat, this place is busy! The cut itself is decent. My hair feels a lot lighter which is good. I guess I was expecting a beautiful blowout at the end( as that’s what they specialize in) but since I came with my hair washed already, she just touched up my ends with a straightener, so I wasn’t feeling as cute as I had hope for, but if you’re looking for an affordable cut, I’d recommend this place. Next time I will request them to wash cut and blow dry my hair. The trim cost $40 without tip.

I absolutely loved my hair cut! I’ve never done my hair before so I was worried it would suck but I loved it! I don’t remember my stylists name but he did an amazing job and would check in to make sure I liked my hair as he did it! I got a wash and cut which was $45. I got long layers and round brushed it with heat. Would totally come back to get it done again. Also the shampoo and conditioner they used smelled AMAZING!

I found the place to be very decent. I walked in on a busy Saturday and was seated in less than 10 minutes. Since I had no preference for a hairstylist, I was assigned to Elaine, who was very nice and attentive to my requests and the type of haircut I wanted. I am very happy with the end result, as it turned out exactly as I had envisioned.

I had William for my appointment. And he was perfect!! I just showed him one reference picture and told him I wanted light bangs in the front and he delivered just that! Even though I didn’t communicate with him that I wanted curtain bangs like in the picture, he got it and cut every single section of my hair perfectly. He was very patient and even asked me if I wanted to cut my ends or not. His blowout technique was also just perfect! Will definitely be going back to him!

I saw this salon on tiktok, a lot of people posting it and recommending it. I liked the haircut but I didn't like the hairdrying. It seems like they have no experience drying hair. When I arrived, they looked me up and down and told me to wait. Then they took me to wash my hair and then to get my hair cut. The total price was $42.

Steven was great! I have thick short curly hair which is hard to maintain and my layers were so grown out. He gave me layers with a slight trim just to give it movement but keep the length.

They did me so bad, I told her how much I wanted cut and she cut so much more and left my hair so short. She could have told me in the beginning that it would not look good long but no. Never coming back seriously 🫥

There’s a reason why it’s cheap. It’s not bd, but also not great. I mainly went in for the good reviews about Elaine, but I realize after getting my haircut that it’s good for the price and subpar for just the quality of the haircut. I’d rather have paid the normal nyc price to get a decent haircut instead… To be honest, it looks like a haircut I did myself in the bathroom back in college. I came back home and caught a strand longer than the rest and cut it myself. It looks awkward, chunky, and heavy. it was $45 without tip.

Jo is literally amazing! I went in and three people had asked for Mia and Elaine in front of me. I didn’t have time to wait and got placed with Jo! She’s so underrated, I wanted a layered cut and showed her a picture. She goes above and beyond, she’ll even style your hair so it looks exactly how you want it.
