I had an appointment with Anna for a shampoo, blow dry, style and a K18 treatment. The service may have been relatively simple but she did such a fantastic job! Anna was very thorough and so friendly. The hairstyle was exactly what I was looking for and I felt so beautiful. I highly recommend booking with Anna!!

I recently moved to the area and chose 3 Bowls of Color because of the great reviews. I had my first service a few days ago with Anna and I couldn’t be happier with the results! I gave her a few vague suggestions of what I wanted and she nailed the results. It’s not often that I walk out of a salon completely happy with the results but this time was the exception. I’m so pleased with 3 Bowls of Color and Anna, and will definitely be back!

3 Bowls of Color was recommended to me by my fiancé who has been here twice to have her hair lifted from dark brunette to a beautiful blonde. I have had terrible experiences with men’s haircuts throughout my time in the Marine Corps and my civilian life. I’ve NEVER left a haircut happy. It was either terrible, or just “good enough” until I let it grow out again. That changed today when I came in and sat down with Pearl. I was able to give her a single reference photo for the style I wanted and she made magic happen, even though I have a totally different hairline and texture of hair from the reference photo. She was personable, attentive, and worked with my requests throughout the entire experience. She was a joy to talk to the entire time and it felt more like hanging out with a friend than it did a business transaction. She took great care to assure me that even with my lack luster history of hairdos, I wouldn’t leave her chair unhappy and she was ABSOLUTELY right. My fiancé and I cannot recommend her enough, and I’ll happily be back every 8 weeks for regular upkeep. She is a miracle worker. How she was able to turn my mop of hair into this is nothing short of remarkable. 100 out of 5 stars from me.

In our experience, receiving a haircut at 3 bowls of color was NOT the way to go. We had to go to another place to get it fixed. Super sad and frustrating. Maybe, the stylist was having a bad day? Let’s hope.

What a cute salon! What can I say that hasn’t already been said. As a brunette, I tend to look at galleries and Instagram for what a stylist has done with brunette hair. It’s different than blondes. I chose Anton because his IG gallery had photos of brunettes and people with different skin tones. It helped me figure out what color I wanted. It was AMAZING!! I’ve seen him twice now and also had my daughter get her hair done by him. He knows his stuff. Pricing is fair and the conversation is great. I love this salon!

Jensen is amazing!! She took the time to really understand what my hair goals were and what my budget was. My hair was originally a darker strawberry color and had previous bleach and dye on it, and by the end it was exactly what I wanted with no damage! The salon is super cute and everyone seems really friendly. I highly recommend 3 bowls.

Pearl is an incredibly talented and compassionate stylist. She genuinely cares about both her clients and her craft, and goes above and beyond to help clients get what look they are going for. I am from out of town and scheduled an appointment based on a recommendation and I couldn’t be happier! Sabrina did an absolutely wonderful job with my hair. She gave me the subtle highlights I was looking for without frying my super dry hair. If I’m ever back in the area, I’ll be back!!

I have been to this salon 3 times. The time between has been lengthy though. When there I did enjoy the service, so much that I booked them, 3 Bowls of Color to do my daughter and her 6 brides maids hair and makeup. As well as my own. Wonderful experience, fun. So, I phoned this morning to hopefully get an appointment. Our Son is getting married, I was looking to get a shape up and have a service of color, Balayage. This morning I phoned and Katie answered the phone to assist. I explained kindly, that I for years work in the field of hair. Nervous. (The same way I explained the past few times when booking here, and no issues). At first there seemed to be openings, but after I tried to express my concerns, there were no availabilities...not One. I have read the reviews, Katie in my opinion, not customer service savvy.

3 Bowls has been my hair home for 20 years now - My stylist (Shannon T) is amazing - not only is she a fantastic stylist, knows what I need/want to achieve, but I trust her so much to do her magic with my thick straight hair. The entire stylist, nail, and front desk team is just as phenomenal. They have all treated me with great customer service and friendly conversations. The salon’s owners (including Shannon T) have done so much over the 20+ years they have been in business to grow, ensure their stylists are trained, and revamp their space. Amazing environment, nothing but smiles every time I go. Sierra was the first stylist in my 30+ years of life that I trusted. She is always caring and gives the best cuts I’ve ever had. I just wanted keep my highlights and dye darker for the rest of my hair but she dyed all of my highlights It took me 2 years to get that bright white color I used purple shampoo everyday for 2 years Not only she messed up my hair No apologies from the person who did my hair I was just so shocked First picture is the before visit Second picture is during dyeing process and after is the third picture You can see all of my highlights are gone I can’t have that highlight anymore because of this salon I wish at least they fix my hair how it was before but they told me to pay to do everything all over again.

I went tint my hair. I show pic the way I want my hair, (charcoal)… I clear told I don’t want my hair blond, brown I WANT CHARCOAL!!! But end up blond. In the left my hair color I end up with. At right the pic I took there was a reference . Look the same???

Ive been going to this salon for a while now and have had both Sam, and then switched to Misty when Same went on maternity leave and just stayed with her. I can say i love them both and have always received so many compliments on my hair. And will say my schedule is not always the easiest to work with but Misty has always worked with me and been super flexible. Wouldnt trust anyone else with my hair to cut or color. She even cuts my daughter's hair who just turned 7.

Stylist, Sierra Petersen, cancelled the day before my appt with no other reason than she wanted to change her hours with no apology for the inconvenience. Text attached below with no response from Sierra. During her maternity leave, Sierra set up an appt with me with another stylist at this salon, Misty, who also cancelled my appt. There is no respect for clients’ time and difficulty for taking off from work. I went to the 3 Bowls in Hampton for years and had all great experiences, this location has been an absolute struggle. Update text included. Note: I cancelled my April 27th appt after I never received a response.

I’ve been going here for about a year. being a military family who moves often I’ve been to my fair share of salons and 3 Bowls of Color has been amazing. My first visit was with Jenson, I brought her my formula from my previous salon and she transferred it over with no issues ! When Jensen left for maternity leave Pearl was recommended to me because I needed a stylist with knowledge and execution to cut curly hair for my son, and let me tell you She is incredible. He loves his curls and is very particular. She listened to what he wanted and engaged in conversation with him. (He was 12 now 13) After that I was sold! Now, my whole family sees her. My daughter, for cut and blonde highlights, myself, for color/gray coverage and Brazilian blowouts, my sister, pixie cut, and my both of my boys. Not only is she knowledgable but she is sweet, kind and funny! . Highly recommended!

Madelyn J did an amazing job 🙌 I have curly hair and it’s always hard trying out a new stylist. She knew her way around curly hair and fixed my weird layers. Her shampoo massage is next level! You’ll be transformed. She round brushed my hair smooth which is a lost art. She never snagged my hair or burnt my head. She’s gentle but knows how to command my hair. Curly girls, go see my new bestie Madelyn!

Update: I did not get the same hair results with the 2nd stylist I saw (see below), but she charged less. I still feel my experience was very disappointing & I cannot recommend them, but my wish is that management & stylists here grow as a team & business. If they can do that, then I think the salon has unlimited success ahead. Please do better in treatment of clients. *For those reviews mentioning cost- ask upfront- good hair is worth paying for. I hope the salon catches up to its pricing & customer service as I wish it only success! I am sorry for my experience & did not make it up- but I hope it is considered & addressed. ORIGINAL: I had a really embarrassing experience there. I saw a stylist who was amazing for years. After covid I skipped & rescheduled some appointments. I then took a break from her due to the fact that financially I needed to focus on a new medical issue & I also wanted to be healthy enough to return. I got a text one day that she no longer wanted to see me. I had missed too many appointments, but I honestly had no idea. After covid things seemed so surreal for many people. I was upset as in it hurt my feelings & I had been with her a long time. However, she has bills to pay & knows how good she is- line out the door good- & I respected that. I stayed with the salon. I saw someone else who seemed very nice- but I had a problem with my hair I wanted to have changed at first. She got her manager involved which made me feel uncomfortable, but also bad. I had definitely stressed her out so I was embarrassed myself- but the manager did not give me a warm fuzzy feeling. I continued on with her & then one day she kind of hinted at some questions that I swear seemed to ask about my age, stating how old someone she knew was & giving tjat awkward pause waiting for me to say how old I was- it wasn't really a hint. After that (I did text with her & I should not have as much- I just talk too much- it was only about hair, yet I admit I did not know I was bothering her until she mentioned how busy she was off work- every1 is different. My old stylist handled it. And I did stop). But one day she showed up on my 'fb people I may know' list. It was odd, but I thought somehow it was related to the algorithm. I jokingly messaged her and said something friendly- maybe 3 lines tops, but did not friend her or request to. She didn't show up for no reason on that list. After that at my next appt I had forgotten about that...until I randomly mentioned a fb haircut I liked & she gave me a strange look. I can't say what the look represented. I blew it off. The next time I tried to make an appointment I was told she would no longer see me. I was really surprised & confused. I tried to have her call me explaining I accepted it, but could she let me know why. I am not an aggressive person (but now I am beginning to change that attitude after this snobby experience), but she refused to talk to me or call or even text. I asked the owner to call me. I had been with the salon for years & it was really hurtful & embarrassing. It was also odd as if it were personal. I STILL DON'T know WHAT happened. This review is written to show how easily they will discard a client who has been loyal to them & tried to tip fairly. I have no issue losing the 1st person I saw and I truly feel bad about that. But this 2nd experience, especially with the lack of professionalism, has stayed with me. Management refusing to call me seemed childish. I would hate for someone else to go through this & want to warn others. Respect people in this industry as they work so hard to help us, but I feel we deserve respect too. It really upset me. I still don't know what the problem was & really had an issue with the lack of professionalism from the stylist (who seemed kind until she wasn't & again it was strange, plus the management). I didn't deserve to be treated like that & I also didn't deserve to be treated like I was special- but human would have been nice.

My first experience with this salon was absolutely STELLAR! I completed the intake/new client form (which was extremely easy) and attached photos of my current hair and a photo of something similar to the look I was trying to achieve. I was super impressed when I walked in, the shop is absolutely gorgeous, clean and professionally appearing. And, Pearl was absolutely ready to rock and roll as soon as I walked in the door! She asked basic questions about how much length I was trying to lose, and what my overall goals were. Based on the photos I attached to my intake form, she had a WHOLE plan on how to get it done. Throughout the appointment she was friendly, fun and welcoming. I loved her vibe. Her talent and professionalism were absolutely stunning, and the results were better than I ever could have imagined! I will absolutely be returning to their shop to see Pearl!

To start off, I went to this salon in the past and never had a problem until I changed stylists. This salon was disgusting and rude to me when I came back due to a bad bleach job. When I first sat in my stylist's chair, named Katie, she NEVER did a test strand on my hair and kept telling others around her that she was going to lift me to a 9. She only started to backtrack when she dried my hair and started to say that I would have to come back and even out my hair. I was never told this before we started, only at the end. This service cost me 400+ dollars just for everyone to say that I should go back and get my money back because it wasn't worth it. When I went back to get some sort of solution, the stylist kept claiming that nothing was wrong with my hair even though it's clear as day that it's VERY uneven, and I would have to wait 4 weeks until I could do anything to my hair. Their only solutions were going darker or waiting until they could rebleach my hair. I just wanted some sort of compensation so I can get it redone at a different stylist, but refused saying that it was normal and I was warned before hand. They NEVER took accountability for it being patchy, saying it was normal, but I was able to get an even bleach with a different stylist at the SAME SALON. This has emotionally drained me and I just don't recommend because they're not even willing to fix my hair unless I get something I don't want or look like a bad at-home bleach job for multiple weeks. Not worth the money and can't even own up to the work they did, just disgusting.
