Any barbershop can do a beard. But if you want to come out looking like an absolute badass stud then you go with Phil. I’ve been seeing Phil for 2 going on 3 years now. Phil is an absolute master at what he does. I’d have to say his specialty is everything he does, but absolutely no one can do beards as well as he can. He’s well worth the price he charges, and he’s also just a great guy who’s cool to talk to; basically you walk out of your appointment with Phil transformed into the guy that can get any woman(or whomever depending what you’re into)…

Beard professionals are rare and hard to find. Congratulations, you just found the one. Phil will make you look good and feel well. If you care what you look like, Phil will elevate your appearance for sure. This is the first time I like my beard and don't look like a Leprechaun. Phil is very nice and very cool guy; I felt like we've known each-other for a century. You will not regret, I guarantee.

I’ve been getting my beard trimmed by a variety of barbers until I found Phil. The way this man can transform a beard in 15 minutes is incredible. I don’t even give him instructions I just let him work his magic and walk out of the barbershop with a little bit more confidence every time. If you’re in Austin Phil is more than worth it to visit at least once to make your own judgement of his skill set. I bet he won’t let you down.

This city is flooded with so many pseudo barbers that have the barber vibes but not the skills. Phil is a legend in the making! One of Austin's actual best barbers. He is so talented. There are so many high points about Phil but I'll list a few- he remembers your preferences, he actually LISTENS, like listens, listens to your instructions and feedback, he pays attention during your entire scheduled service, you'll never feel rushed, he's on time, and he pays attention to the details which is such a huge thing in this business. Great beard trims and haircuts. Great hugs too.

I feel like I have tried so many stylists and salons over the years but Salon 3636 was a game changer. For 20 years, I have blocked off 3-4 hours every couple months to do my hair. I thought that was just how long it took since I had this experience at tons of salons. But at Salon 3636, I am out of there in 90 minutes! And this covers a full balayage, cut and styling!! And who knows what magic she performs on my hair that makes my greys grow out less noticeably so I can get away with less frequent visits. So not only am I getting the best color ever, but I’m also in and out in 90 minutes. Perfection!!!

Mariel has been my stylist for years and I have followed her. Her salon is now under new ownership, it used to be Mariana Meredith Salon. I love all the gorgeous updates to the salon. It is bright, airy and luxe. This is an intimate and boutique salon experience you won't find elsewhere. No loud crowded vibes here. This is the best kept secret in Westlake. Mariel has a loyal following of clients because she takes her time and does beautiful work. I highly recommend treating yourself to a service with her!

The best stylist and the best location! I’ve been going to Mariel for years and love the space at Salon 3636. Really tucked away and personal, always with ample parking and the most cozy feeling inside. Mariel has seen me through SEVERAL hair colors- from fuchsia to blonde to copper, and I can’t imagine going to anyone else!
