I have NEVER had a bad experience here, I started seeing Lydia about 6 months ago and my hair has never looked better! She’s always very honest and professional about my ideas and she ALWAYS executes perfectly. The ambience is very nice, receptionist is always super attentive, just overall a good experience every time I go. So happy I found this place

I’m from Brazil, and I didn’t have any recommendations for hairdressers here in Chicago. After doing some research, I decided to try 3rd Coast Salon. I really liked the vibe of the salon. I got my hair cut by Jordan, who is a great professional. My hair was long, and he gave me the exactly short cut I asked for. I definitely recommend both him and the salon.

3rd Coast Salon is an absolute treat! The moment you step in, Asia greets you with such warmth, making you feel like you're part of the family 😉. The salon itself has this cool, mellow yet sophisticated vibe that just puts you at ease. Lydia is the stylist you wish you'd found years ago! She listens, really listens, to what you're looking for and then works her magic. A big shoutout to Phillip for creating such a wonderful atmosphere. This place is a gem for anyone in Chicago looking for top-notch hair care. My hair has never felt so loved and cared for. Giving my hair credit to Yeji! I am a person that doesn’t know all the terminologies or the styles of the hair but she has listened to me explain the vision I thought for myself. She could of complied and agreed to whatever I wanted but instead she helped me visualize how the cut and the style that would best suit me. She opened my world!

Phillip is so good. He has helped me navigate changing hairstyles and kept my hair looking good while doing so. He listens to my concerns and helps me figure which style I want and then explains the options to get there. I love walking out of the salon feeling like a million bucks. The salon itself is neat and clean and well-kept and the staff members have been welcoming and helpful. I totally recommend Phillip and his salon.

Yeji is the best there is!! I’ve followed her from another salon and would keep doing it until the end of time. She absolutely transformed my hair! She listens carefully to my specific style, and expertly creates a cut that perfectly suits my face shape and lifestyle. She always gives me options and shows me where it will lay on my hair going into every detail of the cut before she even starts. My hair looks healthy and so easy to style. I can't recommend her enough!

I have been coming to 3rd coast since I have moved from Cleveland to Chicago. Phillip has always taken the time to teach me techniques I can use for my hair type at home, and really walks me through my cut. Amari matches my color perfectly, and it lasts so long.

I have been coming to Phillip for literally as long as I have been getting haircuts and it has always been fantastic. I would highly recommend 3rd Coast Salon and Phillip because he KNOWS HAIR and will make sure you get what you want. Also, as an added bonus, he is a fantastic guy.

Update: Philip, the owner reached out to me and offered to reschedule the appointment to the following weekend. They went above and beyond to accommodate me. Lydia did a fabulous job! I had booked for getting highlights and my appointment was cancelled at the last minute because 3 hours wasn’t enough for do it. While I understand my service needed longer time, what left me in utter distress is the last minute cancellation. In fact, the salon had called me 4 days earlier to confirm and I had mentioned that I had waist length hair. They offered to reschedule it either 2 weeks later and with no weekend options.

Lydia did absolutely amazing - I have a ton of thick, long blonde hair and it’s been the best color I have gotten done in the city. Showed her pictures and the end result was spot on!! She also does a killer blowout. Highly recommend.

Absolutely loved my recent visit with Lydia at third coast salon, I got the Milbon gold hair treatment along with my haircut and it was wonderful! I highly recommend it if your hair feels dry and damaged, I went with the hydration option and I’m super happy with the results! Loved the ambience at the salon, it’s clean, spacious and has a modern esthetic!

Kevin is a wizard with color. I showed him a few reference pictures and he truly delivered on an above-and-beyond level. Chicago blondes, this salon is your go-to! Amarii was so sweet and did an amazing job with my cut and blowout. I seriously wish I could hire her to do my hair every day. Staff is amazing, vibes are immaculate. Will absolutely be back!

If you’re reading the reviews thinking “I should check it out” this is your sign to just book!! They make you feel at home, the owner cares about the staff and clients, and the staff is great. My stylist, Lydia, is a master at what she does (for me it’s extensions). The confidence boost that is loving your hair is unmatched and I REALLY love my hair done by Lydia. To further illustrate how great Lydia is, I still visit her for my service even though I’ve moved from four hours away from Chicago. The level of service received is WELL worth the trip.

I got such a beautiful hair color from Diana and cut from Lydia! Diana has been the only colorist to be able to deliver the perfect chocolate brown balayage that I have been searching for! And she made sure to explain everything thoroughly and ask a lot of questions to make sure I was getting what I wanted. Lydia was so sweet as well and really talked me through the entire haircut and blowdry process to make sure I understood everything and how to recreate her blowout. The service was also fantastic: the girl who works at the front desk is so sweet and is always checking in to see if you need anything. I had such a great time here and the 5 hour session I had flew by because of the great company!
