Marissa is an absolutely amazing stylist and a wonderful person to boot. I arrived on her doorstep this week anxiety-ridden in the aftermath of a disastrous succession of botched precision haircuts and partial low light processes. As my coarse, cowlick-ridden Asian hair is incredibly unforgiving, a formerly well-maintained stacked bob/color had frankly degenerated into a demoralizing mess. After a nearly 20 year relationship with a stylist who left the area, I encountered one horrible mishap after another over the past few years at two of the so-called best salons in Dilworth/South End. Marissa intuitively understood how my hair once was, and should ultimately become once again. Putting my mind immediately at ease, she TRULY listened to my concerns and desires and knocked it out of the park. After just an initial visit mind you, she has already transformed my haircut and color into one that I can love again. She is a serendipitous embodiment of incomparable skill and knowledge married to intuition. A hair whisperer. For anyone reading this review desiring concierge hair stying at its finest, Marissa Mosley is in a singular class of her own.

My hair has never looked better thanks to Marissa! She is truly an expert in her craft. Marissa always takes the time to talk through my cut/color ideas and long-term hair goals before getting started. Her salon is comfortable and inviting, and Marissa is so easy to talk to. I always look forward to our time together, and I leave feeling so refreshed and confident! Don't wait to make an appointment - her schedule fills up fast for good reason!

Marissa is a color magician! I’m turning 40 soon and she was incredibly knowledgeable about walking me through the “big girl” hair coloring process. I have wavy auburn hair and she nailed it as far as the cut as well! Book your appointment already- you won’t be disappointed. 10/10

Marissa is absolutely the best. Very collaborative. Great ideas about how to solve problems and sources of irritation with your hair. Values ongoing education in her field, so always up to date on techniques and products. My daughter, sister, and mom all go to her too! I can (and have) recommended her without reservation!

Marissa is the best colorist I've ever had the pleasure of seeing. I tried for years to gracefully embrace my grey, but no other hairdresser got me there. In addition to being an incredibly talented professional at cut, color and style, Marissa is warm and fun and caring. She's a beautiful spirit who is a true master of her craft. I feel fortunate to have found her when I moved to Charlotte a couple of years ago.

I dont get my haircut often enough. Marissa cut my hair over a year ago and did a fantastic job! I was stuck in California so i had the lovely woman who used to cut my hair fit me in for a cut. She was very impressed with the previous cut done by Marissa and how long it lasted for me! Marissa is great!!

I found Marissa through a Google maps search. She was very welcoming from the very beginning and very easy to talk to! She is very knowledgeable and cares about the health of her client’s hair as well as any concerns by asking questions and explaining the process and what to expect during my hair treatment. I opted for the scalp treatment and let me tell ya, it was the best scalp massage ever! I have had scalp treatments in the past but I had no idea I was missing out until I came to Marissa. She really took her time, which I value a lot. I highly recommend trying it out. I also got a simple trim. I showed her a photo of a previous photo of me and she cut it exactly as I wanted. I also liked how she trimmed my hair, dry. I personally feel like I receive better results that way. I have no complaints at all. 10/10.

I am a true “air dry” and absolutely “no styling” kinda gal, and it’s been very hard to find a haircut that looks good under those conditions- but Marissa gave it to me! She gave me exactly what I’d wanted, and no exaggeration, my hair looks amazing with ZERO blow drying or styling, for the first time in my life. I highly recommend her! She gave me a shaggy/wolfcut, which I adore, and I plan on only going to her now for all future services.

I am from out of state and thought I’d get my hair cut. Marrisa did an amazing job! My hair looked unbelievably awesome. She fixed my layers and gave me tips to repair the damage from color. I will be traveling to see her in the future as have tremendous confidence in her ability. There is no one like her!!!

Basically she's not allowed to retire - like ever 🤣 Marissa has been through multiple post-baby hair problems with me, thyroid hair, and is always honest about how to achieve the results that I am looking for. She listens to what I want to do, provides professional insight, and does a fantastic job hitting the hair mark every time. We've been through so many hair phases together (including a few photos to show some different styles she helped me pull off). Marissa has talked me out of some not-so-great ideas, (because she knows what I will actually be comfortable with or not) and also into some really fun ideas when it comes to colors and cuts. I always feel good leaving her chair. She's also just a really cool human so there's that. 🥰

I went to Marissa during a painful hair growth phase. We simply needed time for my hair to grow but she found a way to give me great looking hair during the process! I had also been bleaching my hair so it was so dry and broken. Marissa did a couple of deep health treatments and my hair feels great! The magic though… is that she tones my natural grey to make them blend with my blond! Highly recommend!

If you are looking for the best hairstylist AND colorist in the Charlotte area, go see Marrisa Mosley! Seriously, she is a genius stylist who creates the most GORGEOUS manes that are full of rich color, texture, and vava-voom!!! I always leave her salon with a beautiful cut and a luscious color you'll never get out of a box. And it gets better-- your appointment starts off with the most AMAZING scalp massage. Without question, it is the BEST scalp massage I have ever had. And to top things off...she is an absolute doll! Not only will you get a magnificant hair style, but you will enjoy every minute in her chair. I'd give her 10 stars if I could!!

Literally the best hair cut I have ever gotten. Marissa is an absolute WIZARD with hair, and she got my hair so shiny and healthy looking I swear I had multiple co-workers and classmates commenting on how the very color looked different. I went to her after going over a year without a proper cut. My hair was super dull, had a million broken ends, and lots of damage throughout. I never dye or heat treat my hair in any way, so I honestly didn't even realize I COULD be damaging it. Well, you can. And the difference between a proper cut and product use and none was like night and day. Just like your skin - It is important to take good care of your hair! Prior to seeing Marissa, I had always used my signature clarifying tea tree shampoo and conditioner. I had a scalp that tended to develop buildup rather quickly, was frequently itchy, and occasionally flaked, and so I assumed this was necessary for it. So had all my other previous hairstylists, who also assumed I needed something clarifying or anti-dandruff. She looked at my scalp for probably one millisecond after listening to me describe my problems before telling me I needed a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, not clarifying ones. I have never gotten that suggestion before from any other hairstylist! But she was 100% correct, and the itching and flakiness have completely disappeared after making the switch she recommended. Speaking of products: I was so impressed with the products she used during our session I asked about them, she told me that while she sold them, I could just as easily get them at Ulta (NO high pressure sales, which I really appreciate!). But of course I would rather give her my money than a big chain, and I am so glad I did. My hair is STILL looking great, and I am still getting compliments, and it has been close to two months since I have seen her. I literally got a compliment today from someone who told me my hair length/shine makes me look a bit younger, and better suits my face. Marissa, if you are reading this - Thank you!!

Oh my goodness! I cannot sing Marissa’s praises enough. I am pretty low maintenance when it comes to my hair and typically only get it cut a couple times a year (and never with the same person). In October, I decided I wanted layers (which was my first mistake) and I tolerated it for a couple months. I went back to the same hair stylist who did the layers and got it cut shoulder length. It did not turn out well and I ended up getting a second cut with a second person and I STILL didn’t like it. Enter Marissa! She let me explain what I didn’t like about my current hair and how uneven it was. She listened and gave me a couple options of what she could do to make it closer to what I was hoping for. She fully understood where I was coming from and explained exactly what needed to happen to get to my goal. I am soooo happy with my haircut now and I’ve gotten so many compliments and it’s made me feel so confident! Beyond her skills, she is such a pleasure to talk to. I will definitely be returning!
