ACTION CUT has been doing my hair for about 8 years. Ester is the best! She is talented, experienced and listens to what you want. I highly recommend Ester!

This was my first time going to Action Haircuts. A week ago, I went to Action Haircuts to get my haircut from the shop owner named Esther. Before she cut my hair, I showed her pictures of my desired hairstyle through my cell phone and said, "cut the same length as this (meaning the pictures)" and "Do not do thinning too much". But, she cut my hair too short and blamed me for not telling her the length at the beginning. And also, after she cut my hair; the hair in the back was slanted, the entire length was uneven, and the thinning was not evenly distributed through all of my hair; the back of my hair on the left was too heavy and the back of hair on the right was light and left side of my hair was light and right side of my hair very heavy. In addition, after getting my hair cut from her, the hair texture was too rough. I think her thinning scissors were too old, and not sharp enough. She said that she worked as a hairstylist for 30 years. I have been going to get haircuts and perms for more than 35 years, but Esther's technical skill level is, even after 30 years, still that of a wanna-be trainee who aims to become a hairstylist. In reality, she has absolutely no talent !!! Later on that day, I had to spend more than two hours at home trying to fix the major damage she had done to my hair. Save your time and money. Don't go to her. One more thing. While getting a haircut from her, the customer has to endure her continuous proselytizing of her Christian religion. Take it from me: you do not want to listen to her sermon. Look Esther! The customer pays for a haircut, no more and no less, and does not want to listen to your endless opinions about religion. About price gouging of the haircut. Before going to her salon, I called and asked about the price and business hours over the phone. And I told her the length of current my hair. She said $35 then changed to $30 for a first visiting. I made an appointment and went to get my haircut. She charged me 35 bucks, so I complained about the price and then she changed it to $30. There is a price list near the entry door on the wall. It says, "Women's haircuts $30 up to $40". I do know what is meant by $30 - $40. It depends on the length of the hair. Before the haircut, my hair length was 6 inches from the end of my ear which is sort of short, and the price was supposed to be $30. She is devious and tricked me from beginning. I do not care about 5 bucks, but customers care about deceptive business practices. And the shop was filled with a moldy smell. It seems it has never been repainted since it opened.

Estee is good at hair-cutting, but she has a hard time accepting other opinions / believe systems. She is constantly trying to convert me from Buddhism to Christianity and I have told her more than once that I really don’t like it. Again, she is a good hairdresser, but she needs to learn to accept others the way they are. It would be sad if I have to change the hairdresser because of this.
