Ok so my Birthday was approaching and I wanted kinky twist as my hairstyle. I searched all over google looking for a shop that would be able to do my hair for the big day!! I finally found one 2 days before my birthday and the lady straight jacked my hair up!! I was highly upset and wasn’t sure what to do, and I called up this shop. I explained my experience to her and my circumstance, she booked me the next day (1 day before my bday) and this is the end result, I absolutely loved my hair, and received tons of compliments but most of all I was extremely happy with my results! She was very nice, and she also told me she can do multiple styles. I would definitely recommend her to anyone. I will be a returning customer. Btw this is not a fake review that’s why I posted a pic as a reference so you can judge for yourself!!

I decided to go here because of al the great reviews. I was thoroughly impressed with her company, she does a lot to make the environment comfortable and the conversation is good. She charged me 250 for long s/m feed in braids which is about 30 dollars more than my normal hair lady charges (out of town so I couldn’t go to her), but still reasonable. As far as the quality of work, I’m beyond disappointed. I’m not sure how to post pictures with reviews, but this is what is happening. A) the braids where not braided until the end and were braided very loose, so when she dipped them, by the time I got home, one braid had completely unraveled. Multiple others are already unraveling. B) the braids are inconsistent sizes and lengths. I have some braids that are 2.5 ft long and some that are only 1.5 ft. The difference in size/length is extremely noticeable. C) I’m very proud of my natural hair. It is thick and full. To make her life easier, she asked if she could flat iron it which hurt my soul a little bit, but sadly I still said yes because I felt bad for her. When she put heat on my hair, she did not use heat protectant nor did she make sure the ends were completely detangled. It was painful when she ran the flat iron through because it pulled on my ends and broke multiple of them. I was too shy to say anything to her face, but I cried when I got in my car. I’m so dissatisfied and disappointed. Maybe she doesn’t have a lot of practice with knotless braids. I tried to reach out to see if she could fix it and she told me she would only fix the one that unraveled. When I tried explaining that I feel that is unfair, she told me I don’t understand her and that I’m threatening her by leaving a bad review. I’m so sad about it. My intentions are so pure. My normal hair lady does a very beautiful job, her braids are even and neat and she praises my natural hair, says she wouldn’t put heat on it even if I asked her too. When she makes mistakes she’s willing to fix them with an open heart without making me feel bad. I strongly recommend Soma Hair Braiding in Tacoma. So disappointed with my experience here :/

I had a wonderful experience getting my hair braided by this Queen 👸🏽, she is professional, honest 🌸 , caring and is an excellent hair stylist 💇🏽‍♀️💆🏽‍♀️. I recommend everyone to go to her she is the best in the northwest ❣️

Finally I've found an excellent stylist for my 7 year old granddaughter. Due to illness, it's often difficult for me to get the tangles out of my granddaughters hair and I'm not much for styling lol. Izzy was recommended to me by an employee at the neighboring Sylvan learning center. I couldn't be happier. Not only did Izzy do an excellent job being careful to cause as least stress as possible during detangling but Izzy was actually on her way to her car heading home when I approached her. Izzy actually went back in her shop to do my granddaughters hair right then and there. Now I don't know much about these types of intricate braiding styles to make a choice, but I do know my granddaughter is thrilled to try new styles each time we visit. We will be regular customers from now on. I watched Izzy doing my 7 year old granddaughters hair and I was blown away at the skill level it takes to do this type of styling. The price I paid was more than reasonable! This styling takes time an an incredible amount of skill and patience. Thank you Izzy. I feel like I now can keep my granddaughters hair beautiful with your help.

My daughter Rose needed her hair done and not really sure where to start, I found this place in Google Maps. I called and talked to the owner and scheduled an appointment next day. We showed up on time and the owner was there waiting for us. This place has great service and Rose’s hair looks amazing.

Since I found hair by Issy 4 yrs ago, I stopped looking for who will style, braide or fix my hair, she is good and gives me that satisfaction. I and my kids always have that smile and glow whenever she makes our hair. She also gives me advice on aftercare, maintenance and good hair products that makes my hair glow and last longer. I'll go to her over and over again for all my hair needs.I highly recommend her.

This lady ripped me off, she is a fraud and provides horrible service. My braids literally look like I just got out of prison. I look like OG Bobby Johnson. Stay away from this "stylist "
