I’ve been to Akalonnie 3 times and she never disappoints! She is very welcoming along with all the employees! Drinks are provided as well as space for your own drinks and personal belongings. Her greetings are wholesome and consultations are thorough to make sure clients are happy with their results. I have gotten full service all three times and they all have been very professionally done and no rush! Cutting and styling processes are also very thorough. I’ve personally met Lonnie, David, and Natalie, all of whom has contributed to my full services. They’re super friendly and carry comfortable conversations. If you’re looking for styling, cutting, dying, hair extensions, etc, Akalonnie is the perfect salon to visit.

I hate to have to write this but this has been a horrible experience that has left me with results I did not ask for including damaged hair and botched hair color. I Asked for a baby balayage and left with a full head of thick chunky inconsistent lowlights and highlights. The highlights were thick and inconsistent with different tones, no blend or melt at all. My hair previously was not colored for 6-8 months and I stressed keeping my natural color for grow out/health purposes. I contacted the owner and she attempted to fix it TWICE by glossing/toning my hair darker. Now I’m left with a color I never wanted or asked for, almost $600 out of pocket. I spent 4 hours there on Friday and 4 on Saturday. All it did was stress me out, ruin my hair and take my $. I’m shocked I was not offered some portion of a refund. The owner offered to fix it for a third time in a few days if I want but I never wanted a full head of dark hair color and that’s all I was offered to fix it. Very frustrating and highly do not recommend this salon for color. I appreciate the owner trying to fix her employees mistake but the damage was done and clearly unable to fixed. My hair is so damaged from the full head of highlights I never asked for that were over processed. As the toner she covered up her employees mistake fades off, the color is absolutely hideous and horrible placement.

I’ve been coming to Akalonnie Salon for quite some time now and let me just say that it’s the top hair salon out there. Customer service and everyone that works there are so amazing and nice! Vibes and ambience are so chill that you’re able to relax and enjoy the time there. They’re the only ones that can achieve the color that I want. Definitely worth coming!

I booked a last minute appointment with Lonnie for my wedding. I showed her an inspo picture that was a similar length to my hair. My only concern was making sure my hair can hold my veil. It was a cathedral length veil so it was pretty heavy. She did not disappoint! She secured my hair perfectly and my veil stayed in place all night. I didn’t have to adjust it at all. I also brought some hair accessories and let her have full creativity with them. It was perfect and came out beautiful. I had never been to her salon before and booked the appointment the night before because she was the only one with an opening at the time I needed. I’m glad I took the chance that day. I would highly recommend them!

Came to get a haircut for my birthday, the vibes were great. I love my haircut so much. It gave me exactly what I wanted, like the curtain bangs, a lot of volume, it was cut to perfection! Highly recommend this place!

I went in to get my roots done and I came out with WAY more blonde that I didn't want...I didn't even get a hair cut and I paid 500$. Thank goodness my neice is able to fix my hair and get all of this blonde out.

I first discovered the salon through a drive by and a desperate need of a hair cut. Lonnie was able to take me in and now I come by for balayage as well! I LOVE the environment, the staff, and the results!

*Update* For someone who is new to hair color, I was not expecting the cost for maintenance to be so high and only be (what I believe was) a toner treatment & deep conditioner $247; it was surprising. I initially made an appointment for 3 pm because I knew what would work best for my schedule. Someone called me the day before asking if I could move my appointment to either 11am or 1pm, and because I’m a yes person, I believed I was helping someone take a later slot, or helping the salon fill earlier slots to consolidate their work day, so naturally I obliged. My morning didn’t start out as planned, I had run out of acid reflux meds the day before and work up throwing up blood from my esophageal ulcers. 🤢 I text to let the salon know I was running a little behind. After the vomiting fight for my life, I was ultimately about 20 minutes late. Me being late did not impede on anyone else’s time, it only reduced my personal service opportunity, which would have included a hair trim & style, to which I did not receive due to being late. As a good client partner, I was fine with not receiving those services & willingly paid full price, and accepted full responsibility for my missed service due to my timing. To my utter surprise - I was charged a late fee…and I can’t get past it. The trust is broken, and I’m pretty sad about it. This was going to be my forever salon. Typically a late fee policy is made obvious, or even relayed when scheduling or booking. I was blindsided. The business owner did offer to credit the amount at my next service, however I strongly feel this should have been resolved immediately. I would probably have gone on to spent thousands of dollars over the course of time here, but go ahead and keep my $40 I guess. 🤷🏻‍♀️ This is 100% about principle. My heart is broken and now I’ll have find someone I can trust to be transparent about pricing and subsequent services. 🥺 I'm hooked. Lonnie has ruined my life ~ in the best possible way! I will never be able to go to anyone but her for may hair, ever again, for the rest of my life. I went from being pale with deep dark hair that was starting to show greys >>> to somebody's hot blonde bombshell grandma! What what!?! Did you know that was a thing? Apparently is can be if akalonnie is doing your hair. 10/10 highly recommend #GILF *See my 1st review on Vagaro prior to this last color experience * Lonnie (the business owner) is a true professional, she stays involved and offers suggestions, and she was close by to ensure my confidence and comfort level as a new patron with a new stylist. She helped me to have realistic expectations, she was transparent about the potential costs, and most importantly she understood managing long hair, as opposed to just trying to convince me to cut it (like every other stylist I've ever been too). Everyone there was friendly and knowledgeable. I had cancel my upcoming color appointment due to work expectations, but I'm definitely going back to follow-through on color! #takemymoney Alyssa was very intuitive and informative. She gave me more information about my hair and hair care in general than I have ever received in 43 years of having long hair and going to professionals for hair service. She was friendly yet professional. I completely trusted her with my hair, and her suggestions for future caring for my hair.

First time at AkaLonnie and was so pleased with my results! They helped me figure out what exactly to have done to my hair, answered any questions I had, gave me hair care tricks and tips and most importantly made me feel comfortable the entire time I was there! The staff was so friendly and easy to talk to all while working together to get each clients service completed! Super fun atmosphere, can’t wait to go back!

First time customer and I will be back for sure! I had a year and a half of grow out as well as black box dye in my hair. Before the process, Lonnie had explain to me what to expect and the service I was going to get. Lonnie and her team made me feel really comfortable and relaxed the whole time. I came to this place last year to get a full balayage done. I went in at 10am and left at 7pm. My hair is black, wavy, and very thick and abundant. I wanted to go from black to a brown-caramel balayage that would give my hair dimension which I showed pics of exactly what I wanted. The owner spoke to my hairstylist (Alyssa, who was super nice!) and instructed her how to proceed with my hair. They did a lift on me for HOURS that was way too blonde which I never asked for. My hair was more blonde than brown and caramel, so I had to go back and get it toned down. The excessive lift totally dried up my hair and it looked like grass straw. I paid a $75 deposit and $440 for the treatment, in total $515. My stylist Alyssa was super nice but I feel like the owner instructed her how to go about my treatment and did not do what I asked. It's been a year and my hair grew back and it looks better Now, but I definitely won't be back. Way too expensive!

I decided to leave a review because i came here after i saw all the good reviews and trusted this place too much, my mistake. You book online with what you may think is the owner but they put you with whoever is there at the time. I came for a haircut, my hair was very long. I asked to be cut to mid-back length and pointed to my bra-line just in case that was confusing. Tell me why my hair ended up SHOULDER LENGTH!? I didn't bother making a big deal since my hair can't be glued back but If I had seen a review like this I would have paid more attention and not trusted them to know what theyre doing

I had such a wonderful experience with Jada, Lonnie, and the entire staff! They made me feel comfortable, were very considerate when they were handling my hair, and transformed my hair into exactly what I wanted. The service was excellent and the staff was knowledgeable. I previous had box dye hair and it was completely damaged. I decided to come in for a color corrections and I could not be more happy. I literally almost cried because I never had such gorgeous hair like this. The color was amazing and the service was even more impeccable. I had treatment with my service and this has been the softest my hair has been. I cant wait for my next few sessions. Without a doubt, I was always hesitating to go in and get my hair done from salons because my previous hair stylist really damaged my hair, but when I came to Akalonnie salon, I knew I made the right choice when I came out with perfect hair. I CANT WAIT TO GO BACK. When I tell you to go to this salon, I mean do it. Look at my hair!!!! It's gorgeous!

I recently visited Akalonnie Salon for a hair color and extension installation, and I must say, I had an exceptional experience. I. Am. So. Upset.. Dave did such an amazing job. How have I been missing out on amazing haircuts. Dave was very professional and patient in me “explaining” what I was wanting. He delivered. My hair feels like it has been touched by an angel. So majestic. Much wow. I HIGHLY recommend seeking Dave for all your hair needs whether it’s a simple wash/cut/style or you’re trying to get glammed up. He’s great.

I’m a fairly new customer of theirs, but my experience there has been absolutely amazing! Recently I got my bangs trimmed by Alyssa and she taught me how to properly take care of my hair. Lonnie and her assistants are amazing. I just got a trim but they were not only quick and efficient, but were just plain excited to do my hair, offering to crimp and style it Mamma Mia-style to give me a fun look. This is probably one of the best salons I’ve been to; the quality, the environment, and the professionalism was outstanding!! The best part is they knew exactly what I wanted as soon as I said it - no awkward styling that you have to pretend to like. In short, this is the place where you can ACTUALLY get Pinterest hair. P.S. There was a dog when I was there!!

Lonnie's team was extremely wonderful! They did their extensive hair consultation made me feel comfortable throughout my balayage session. So many salons opening in Katy, but Akalonnie Salon is the place to go! My knowledge of hair is looking through pictures and pointing. I'm not the most informative with hair, but my visit with them opened up my eyes. I was welcomed as soon as I walked in, offered a beverage, and just made sure if I needed anything. Kareni, listened to my worries, wants, and daily routine to figure out the best options. Once we figured out what route to go to she explained what I needed to do with up keep and let me ask tons of questions. Their staff is friendly and the salon is always clean!

Gas prices are up, but I'll still drive the 40 minutes for Lonnie!!! Been going to her for almost two years now & she is the BEST. Not kidding, I would literally walk into my appointment and tell her to do whatever she thinks would look good with my hair & she amazes every time. Aside from making my hair look good, she also focuses on the condition/health of your hair & keeps you informed. I'm terrible with hair maintenance so I come back a couple months after a full service appointment for the keratin treatment service which makes my hair look/feel so replenish and revives the color (or changes toner to her liking because I trust her judgement with my life ) It only takes about an hour & I walk out feeling so BRAND NEW like I just received full service (save $$$) Whether the appointment lasts an hour or four, Lonnie always makes the time fly because she really uses the duration of the service to get to know her clients. Makes me feel at home (wow bomb hair + great company) Lonnie is thoroughly transparent with what she'll do next and teaches you so much. Take her advices/recommendations, she knows what she's talking about (her hair's flawless 24/7, how can you not trust her??) I'm so excited for her to finally open her very own salon. I have been with Lonnie for years, I love the salon so clean, calm and definitely a time I look forward to when I have my appointment. I love the atmosphere there and how all the stylists support one another. I went here because I saw that they specialize in blonde and balayage. I have always wanted to be full blonde and I have gone to other salons in the area and have never received exactly what I wanted. When I came here they knew exactly what to do and gave me so much more. They recommended extensions to achieve a full blonde look without damaging my natural hair. I absolutely love them, it turned out so beautiful. The staff is so nice and everyone works together to help you achieve your look. I had Alyssa and she did absolutely amazing! I will never go anywhere else!!

Lonnie never disappoints. Every time I leave her salon I feel brand new and refresh. Lonnie and Kareni do an excelente job of walking you through with the proper hair routine to ensure healthy and beautiful hair. Wouldn't trade my hairdressers for anything.
