I googled this place and saw that it had really good reviews. I called them up and asked if I could make an appointment at 3. They were super accommodating and told me to come in at 2:30. I explained I wanted to change my hair to a blue color after most of my pink hair had washed out. They said I’d have to come in so they could see what was possible with my hair. I was happy with that. The girl was super nice on the phone and I was excited. As soon as I got to the salon, the women were so friendly to me. Everyone was friendly. I met Sam and she was confident that she could turn my hair a blue even though there might be some breakage. Again I was cool and understanding that with bleach hair will get damaged but nothing devastating. She did a balayage of blue in my hair and now it’s this blue with other layers of different hues of blue in it. Sam dried my hair and styled it in a mermaid 🧜‍♀️ esk style that looked very elegant and edgy. I am definitely happy with how Sam did my hair. She worked her magic and I can’t wait to come back and try other styles and colors in the future! This place seems to really listen to their customers and know hair! I highly recommend! I finally found my hair salon!

I got there hella late and they still took me as their last customer. Had two girls on my hair going at sonic speed, I was worried it wasn’t gonna come out well. It came out PERFECT!!! Owner was a sweetheart and the stylists were the nicest. Coming back asap

Absolutely amazing salon! Greeted warmly by the lovely receptionist, she took my coat, offered me coffee. Zaina did a great job washing my hair and complementing my eyebrows 🥰 I am glad that I read the reviews prior to coming and chose Shadi to style my hair. He was swift, smooth and professional. Knew exactly what to do with my hair. I left feeling FABULOUS!

I’ve been going to a la mode & meet with Sam for over 3 years now - she is simply the best! She always does a beautiful job with my balayage cut & highlights. In past salons it would take hours to achieve anything even close to a color I would like & she does it in half the time! A+++

Everything was amazing, lovely staff. Especially Sam, she did a perfect job helping me get the hair I wanted. Also made me feel very comfortable my whole time there. Best experience i’ve ever had at a salon thanks to her and her team!

I was able to get a same day appointment with Lina. She was great and did exactly what I wanted. Only negative was an employee vaping by the coffee area behind me.

I was charged $340 for “color correction” on my hair that had previously been dyed black. I came in for all over color wanting a brownish red color . Kenny (stylist) told me we couldn’t achieve the color I wanted because it was too light. They said they would need to do color correction. He proceeded to bleach my hair and after the so color correction my roots were light and my ends were dark. They then applied color which resulted in the top half of my hair color being a light brownish red and the bottom half of my hair color being a dark brownish red color. I don’t understand how this is a color correction when the all over color is not the same. Now my hair is two different shades of a color and is very subtle.

I’ve been coming here for 3 years & counting. I usually come & get balayage & or blowouts. Service in consistent which is key for me🙌🏼. I highly recommend trying this salon out & I have a feeling you’ll be coming back for more😉. I love their team<3

Lia is the absolute best for men’s haircuts! She’s patient, always makes my fiancé feel comfortable, and offers the best recommendations. She truly listens and delivers exactly what he’s looking for. He looks amazing every time, and he refuses to go to anyone else!

Sam is the queen of fixing hair color. I will never look for anyone else. She did an incredible job and all was done in record time. All the staff are super fast and professional. I could see many happy women all around the place.

The greatest salon in NYC hands down. The staff are super talented and have the best techniques for cutting and dying hair. I have been going here for 7 years, and even after moving to Staten Island from Brooklyn, I could not find another salon that met their standards. I travel from SI to get my cut and color here. Always perfection!

This place is waw it's the first time I go to ala mode salon . Everyboady is friendly there . Shadi did my hair and he is professional it cost 361 . But the result is waw . I loved my new look .

A la Mode is a professional salon. I’ve never been disappointed with color cut or style. The hair stylists are very accommodating with what you’re looking for and provide great feedback and options if needed. Staff is warm and friendly, everyone greets you, and from start to finish they are asking if you are comfortable, or if you would like water, tea, coffee, or wine on weekend nights, which a mom of four appreciates. Salon is clean and well styled. Prices are fair for the quality of service. I buy my hair products for them and they always give me a discounted price. I’m very happy with the service at A la Mode. Hope this was helpful.

Kenny really worked his magic and fixed a terrible haircut I received elsewhere a few days ago!! I appreciate all the time he took to give me his professional advice and different options I could go with, given the poor shape my hair was in. Got my haircut and balayage done today from Adam. Absolutely loved it!! Went for hair consultation a day earlier, got a patch test done to see how the hair is gonna turn out. I showed some reference pictures while Adam guided me throughout the process being very transparent about the results. I would say it was totally worth it. Got the exact same results I was hoping for. After the haircut my head feels extremely light and I love that feel!! Plus the staff is extremely sweet and welcoming.
