I loooooove this salon, and Janessa is THE star!!! It’s been about 5 visits now, and every single time Janessa has knocked it out of the park. No matter what, I always leave feeling like she understood me and got me what I wanted. She’s an incredible hair artist & super fun to engage with. Literally a gem! I used to be local but moved across the city - I will continue to travel for Janessa because she’s just THAT good 🔥

Almost 2 years ago, I didn't recognize the person I saw in the mirror - she didn't "represent" how I felt. I made an appointment at Alchemia, gave them an idea of what I wanted, and they worked magic...I'm a very happy client who appreciates their attention to detail along with the professionalism of Edward and his team. Holy cow! I am so extremely impressed with the work done here. I have had a hard time finding somewhere here in Chicago for my hair and I really hit the jackpot with Alchemia. Sy is PHENOMENAL on many levels - very personable, transparent and honest, explains the process as she goes through and does an amazing job. The entire experience from consult to final result exceeded expectations.

I've been seeing Edward for haircuts for several months since moving to the area. Consistently get the best haircut I've had anywhere, excellent product and hairstyle advice, and a great atmosphere! Couldn't ask for better service.

I’ve had my hair cut by Xander three times (the last two are shown here) and I love it every time. It’s so wonderful to have found someone to trust to know what to do with my hair when I really don’t. I’ve gone from hair past my shoulder to above my chin and it was done so well I don’t even miss it. 10/10 would recommend. The salon itself is also great to go to and all the stylists seem friendly and great. :) Cannot recommend this place highly enough.

One of THE worst haircuts I’ve ever gotten. Hairstylist had no idea what I wanted and just chopped off a bunch of hair while claiming she knows what she’s doing. The last time I had a haircut like this was in the 6th grade and I definitely don’t recommend going to this salons for anyone under the age of 50? Unless you wanna regret the next few months growing our your hair from some 90s pop stat hairstyle to normal again. Such a terrible salon.

Went here for a haircut and to touch up my blonde. Xander was professional and easy to talk to. They constantly checked in throughout the process, making sure I was comfortable and got the exact color and style I wanted. Sy also jumped in to help with my curly cut, and they were a great team. Also, the prices here are so reasonable and I super appreciated the student discount on the cut! This place is wonderful, and I'm so glad to have a hair place nearby that I can frequent.
