I’ve had a few haircuts here throughout the years. Alchemy’s people have always done a great job on me during the mullet years-as I call them. maybe I’ll go back to being a mullet guy. Today I had a simple trim on my medium hair. ’ll probably be back in 6 months to go back to a mullet. We’ll see. Liz did a fine job cutting my hair today as well, good job Liz. It's been 3 months and my hair has yet to grow out the mullet I was forced to walk out with. The stylist made the mistake of assuming I would only be wearing my hair in one style for over 6 months. I didn't want a mullet, I didn't want a square shape, I wanted layers and maybe to try some bangs out again. Instead I got a short, unmanageable, undesirable haircut. I went from wash and go to being forced to spend a minimum of 20 mins doing my hair. My hair can't be put in a ponytail more, and the little stubby tail that occurs when I do ends up giving me troll doll hair because my hair is so short. My top layer of hair literally just sits on top of the others like a lump of curls because it's too short. I can't even take a nap without being forced to spend another 10 minutes trying to fix the troll doll hair. I have to look at this awful haircut every single morning that shattered my confidence and there is no way to repair tbe damage. You can't uncut my hair. You can't fix it. I will just never return this salon, not after this.

I’ve had my hair done at Alchemy for about 15 years now. No matter which stylist has done my cut or color, it has been an outstanding experience every time. The education that the stylists participate in is excellent; the apprenticeship program is collaborative and really cool to see. It’s been amazing over the years to watch apprentices grow their skills and confidence to become top, badass stylists.

Alchemy does awesome with the hubby’s curly hair! The only place he trusts with it.☺️ While I keep my hair buzzed myself, I still sometimes tag along for his appointment~~and appreciate the chill space and little boutique shop attached. Good vibes and people. 🌺

Got a curly haircut with Jen as my stylist. She was super kind, listened to what I wanted, gave me ideas on what she was going for and did a great job. I've been letting my hair grow but it was forming a mushroom top so I wanted to layer and give it shape so it can grow evenly. Jen was informative and I'm very happy with results.

I had my hair cut and partially highlighted by Baige and I'm just in love with it! Baige NAILED the assignment and was so helpful in showing me how to style or unstyle my new look, alongside what products would help me with both. I can't say enough about my experience and I will definitely be back to see Baige!!!!

Maguire is amazing!! Getting my hair cut is something I normally dread as much as the dentist. I had heard good things about Alchemy, and through their Instagram I was able to find a stylist who had proven talent in the type of cut I’d been wanting. And boy, did Maguire deliver!! Thank you! There was none of that over the top product pushing, no pretentious atmosphere, and no pressure to make mind numbing small talk. Good vibes, good cuts.

I went here because I wanted a curly hair cut done. The stylist should not be giving curly cuts since they can’t even consider curl shrinkage. She chopped off almost all my hair and cut it so unevenly. Right side of my hair was noticeably shorter. The cut was so bad and I looked like a grandma. I had to fix it myself the best I could. Just so unfortunate, because the salon is so cute. Will not be going back and probably won’t be trusting another stylist after this.

I can back to write an update review from a few years ago. And notified that my review is gone. There is no way that this salon has 4.7 rating. Must be a good stylist that works here. The stylist you cut my hair a few years back I came back here to update you all on how my hair never returned to that length and it has NEVER been the same since then. I had asked for shaping my hair and little trim on the ends and she cut my hair up! I look back at my pictures of how beautiful my hair was . Put in so much money and time into my hair to achieve the hair health. It finally grew full and pretty from all the previous cuts I’ve gotten from other stylist. Explained all of this to the stylist and she assured me that she would not cut too much. She absolutely did. I also told her that most of my hair is in the center of my head so when you cut do not cut a lot of the back off. She did not listen. She kept cutting around my head and took a lot of hair off from the areas I told her not too. My hair has not been the same for 3 years since I’ve gotten my hair cut from this salon! Still unhappy .

I received a beautiful shaped bob haircut that I just love and have been given many compliments on and the question “where did you go for your haircut?” I have been going to Alchemy for over 10 years, tried different salons too, but nothing like a good haircut from Alchemy, service is wonderful too.

Really bad curl cut, told her to leave it long and she took 3-4 inches off at least. Asked for face framing that connected, she gave me super short curtain bangs that don’t match the rest of my haircut, haircut was so bad my hair isn’t even curling the same. I told her I don’t style it normally and she gave me a haircut that only looks sort of okay if it’s styled. I tried to ignore the bad reviews and go off of people saying it’s the best curl cut in Orlando, very bad idea. Hair dresser didn’t even speak to me about my hair type or how to take care of my curls. Super impersonal, expensive, and honestly you can give yourself a better haircut at home.

I never write reviews, yet here I am. I was recommended to come here from my stylist in south Florida. I was so excited to come get my haircut here and I’m so disappointed with how my hair turned out. I asked for a “hush” cut which is a layered cut and I specifically asked for it to not look like a mushroom or a shag cut and it absolutely looks like both. When I booked my appointment it said that a new haircut with the stylist I booked with would be $94 and when I checked out it was over $120 for just a haircut. Needless to say I unfortunately won’t be returning. I had to add to this after going home and rewashing and restyling my hair in hopes that it was just the way my hair was styled. This is the worst haircut I have ever received. One sides layers are shorter and completely different than the other side. It literally looks like someone took a hacksaw to my hair. Maybe the stylist was having an off day but I now have a bad haircut and low self esteem. Thank you alchemy.

My fiancé and I both came in for curly trims w/ Michelle in prep for our elopement/honeymoon next week. She is a DREAM. From the beginning she was so calm, giving tips throughout the appt and was just so kind and made our experience incredible. It felt like she was a friend alongside us and excited for us to get married too!! My fiancé has very curly hair but I have more wavy hair that needs work for curls to come out. She totally made me feel like I had beautiful curls and I am over the moon with how personable she was and the care and energy she put into the appointment. It's only our first appt with her but I don't want anyone else touching my hair now! 💘 thank you so much! also the front desk ladies were so caring when I told them I had a migraine and offered a warm towel & kept checking on me!!

Probably worth mentioning that this business has a track record of deleting unfavorable reviews and responding poorly when confronted over their inability to cut hair in line with people’s requested styles. If you’re an Orlando local, it would be worth it to research this business on reddit, as since the ownership can’t delete reviews there you’ll get a much better idea of how abysmal their service is.

Been coming to this salon for years, but a color appointment last year around October has made me wary to return… Coming into the appointment I made it clear that I wasn’t looking to bleach—more on the natural side to lower risk of potential hair damage. I’ve bleached routinely through Alchemy in past years, but was at risk of increased shedding due to unrelated medical reasons…Not only did my hair get bleached to a brighter unnatural color, but the previous unrelated issues became exacerbated in response. Usually I trust everybody with both cut and coloring at Alchemy, no issues, but this appointment made me disappointed and anxious to approach color at the salon in future. I haven’t made any color appointments since October of 2023 and am still rectifying the damage of what has yet to be cut off.

I got my hair dyed and cut here, alex was my stylist and was a joy! She made my curls just the way I want it and the color was just divine. It was all very expensive sadly as it is located in downtown orlando. However if in the future I want to refresh my colour for cheaper I definitely will come back!! Amazing service.

Liz was superb. She knew exactly what to do to bring out balance in my curls🥰 and brought my hair back to life with a beautiful color that matched my complexion. The place is so unique and eclectic, I love it!

A friend of mine turned me on to this place after moving here from out of state, made an appt with Liz for highlights and a cut, I was nervous going in because I was a male, but Liz was very calming, she did a great job on both the color and the cut. Nice place With great staff!!

Clean, bright, lovely space. Michelle was amazing and super helpful in explaining how to care for my curly hair now that I’ve decided to stop fighting (straightening) it. 10/10 highly recommend.

I have been looking for a great place to get a curly haircut. I booked an appointment with Michelle and she styled my hair amazingly. I had been pretty upset with my previous cut and style and had tried so many products to bring life to my curls. She gave me a simple routine that I can keep up with. Let me tell you, the way my curls look now has given me a confidence boost and helped me love what I look like when I see myself in a mirror. I can’t completely put into words how much this hair cut changed me inside and out. Thanks, Michelle and Alchemy. Can’t wait to book my next appointment!

Went to Alchemy because of a friend referral, good reviews, and impression they don’t just do traditional haircuts and color. We were very disappointed that they used heat with bleach for my daughter’s creative color appointment stripping and damaging hair. We won’t be back as she’s done color several times before and her stylist has never heated during bleach processing.

Absolutely amazing little place, beautiful atmosphere and great service. I was so stressed trusting someone to cut my curls and Jen did an incredible job! After 6 years, I've finally found a salon I want to go back to. Diana took a lot of time to get to know me and listened to all my anxieties. She was very educational and gave me a lovely cut while also correcting some past mistakes that were made on my bangs. Worth the pricetag!

Best hair salon experience I’ve had in a long time. Went in for a first time cut with Bailey and it’s fair to say I would die for her by blade or fire. Phenomenal service, insane technical skill, great atmosphere. Shoutout to the assistant who washed my hair too, I believe their name was Emily, they were amazing and so sweet and friendly. I came in wanting an unconventional haircut—a mullet—which is something I feel a more inexperienced stylist could mess up pretty easily, but not Bailey, she gave me exactly what I wanted and also made sure I’d have the tools to style it myself afterwards! Please come here for your next cut! Can’t recommend it enough. I attached a before and after of my hair too so you can all see the magic Bailey worked on my head.

Jennifer was great! She asked what I was looking for and then gave suggestions, walking me through the process. As someone with naturally curly hair who has trust issues when it comes to bad haircuts...this was a wonderful experience.

I will definitely be coming back soon. The salon itself was also very clean, spacious and beautiful. Service was 5 stars, pricing was very reasonable. Nothing but great things to say
