I'm just going to add to the five star reviews. I went to Alison for the first time yesterday after letting my hair grow longer than I have since I was a kid. I had no idea what I wanted to do and Alison looked at pictures with me, told what would work, and then gave me a great cut (she also neatened up my beard). Along with being very warm and welcoming, she really is a consummate professional. I found my new barber.

Really glad I came here to get my hair cut, she came in on a Monday to help me out (apparently Sundays and Mondays are the traditional days off for barbers, Today I Learned) and I really love how it came out! She listened to me, even though I was very unhelpful describing what I wanted, and made sure I liked how it looked as she went. Definitely coming back here next time!

For years I have been trying to find the right barber, and I always felt like there was something missing. My hair was shorter, but I never thought that my barber and I could work together to find out what worked well for me. I had tried to ask their advice, but it never really worked. And then, about a year ago, I happened into Alison's chair. It's a simple question, but I had never before been asked what my goal was, rather than just the technical details of my trim. She helped me understand what to look at when I was looking at different styles, and once we got comfortable with each other, we've been able to bounce ideas off each other and come up with great styles which hit exactly what I wanted, but never knew how to describe. She is THE BEST barber that I have ever visited, and if she can do this with this introverted computer programmer, she can do wonders for you too. Update: I came to see Alison today after having moved to New Zealand 4 years ago, and visiting Albuquerque on vacation. It was like seeing an old friend, getting caught up on each other's lives, and leaving with the best haircut I've had on 2 continents.

Got a haircut from Alison two days ago and have lost count of how many compliments I’ve gotten! She listened to what I wanted and is always willing to change things up and soliciting feedback to make sure you’re happy with how things look. She brings her creative attention every time I see her. I’ve seen her a few times over the last few months and expect I will be for a long time.

If you’re like me finding a good barber is a challenge!! But finding an excellent barber is next to impossible!! We’ll…I found the impossible!! Not only is Alison’s skill set off the charts but from the time I walked in, to the time I left, that window of time was all about me!!! Great environment, great conversation, great attitude, great smile and best of all…FANTASTIC HAIRCUT!! That’s very difficult to find in your 1st visit!!! I have my appointment for the next visit and will continue to have her cut my hair!!!

Alison is GREAT! When I get my hair cut, I typically show a picture of what I'm looking for. Alison looked at the picture and made a suggestion to modify the cut slightly based on not only my hair growth but also on how frequently I get my hair cut. You can tell instantly she's a master of her craft. She also takes the time throughout the ensure you're satisfied and comfortable with what she's doing. After she was finished, she explained what she did and why, which I appreciate. She's friendly and exceptionally professional. You won't need to look for a new barber ever again!

Alison is a true master. She not only gave me a great haircut but took the time to ask and figure out what would work best for my specific hair characteristics and styling preferences. I am used to going in and getting whatever the barber does, with a little guidance, but Alison gave me input and really helped me feel like I was making the best decision for me. Alison is a utter professional. Takes my scruff unkempt self from mad scientist to dapper gentleman every time. She is clear and communicative. She asks for clear direction from you in the chair without being overbearing. I have been going to Alison for the past 6 months and will keep coming back as long as Alison is a barber!

I called Alison The Barber, my call was answered by Alison. She indicated she had a cancellation and could take me which worked out perfect because I have a very important business meeting in 4 days. When I arrived she asked me what I want to do and I said that I read her reviews which said she was amazing. I asked her to “work her magic”. Unfortunately I felt Alison was in a rush. My haircut/ style sucks! Normally the length of my hair (shoulder length) it would take other barbers/stylists 40-45 minutes, she only spent 20 minutes. I read 50-60 reviews and many said that she “designed” a cut to fit her clients, I didn’t get that service or experience. After returning home I realized my hair is cut uneven to a point I wish I would have left it as long as it was. Alison was very nice but I won’t return for another cut.

Unfortunately I don’t get my hair cut very often. However, I got the pleasure of meeting Allison because of a Groupon a while back and I have not gone anywhere else. Allison is awesome, super professional and a master at her craft.

Alison always makes sure you are happy with you cut. She sanitizes before each client, and will provide a mask if you forget yours. Sweeny is also the best boy!
