Do not come to this salon! Ambra is the worst hair stylist I have ever been to. Ambra ruined my hair and caused severe breakage in one section and pain and damage to my scalp. Ambra treated me horribly, had a nasty attitude, and did my hair so poorly that my scalp still hurts and is tender now over a month later. I told Ambra I’m getting married this year and needed to be careful with my hair and she didn’t care. Her services and character towards me were a complete disaster! I have very tightly coiled hair, and I came into my appointment for a flexi rod set with so much hope because she appeared great online and the positive reviews. Ambra barely greeted me when I walked in. She didn’t check in to ask things like “is the temperature of the water okay?”, and she ripped through my hair at every step of the process. During my appointment, Ambra was very unprofessional, extremely rude, and a very uneducated stylist. Her equipment is low quality and the salon does not look as nice as the pictures. Ambra gave me an extremely basic wash without throughly detangling before and during the service (which I was told they would do) which created unnecessary tangles. Where the most damage was done was Ambra’s complete LACK of knowledge on how to detangle 4b/4c hair with low manipulation and her inability to adjust or listen when I spoke up about her ripping through my hair. Ambra ripped through my hair so much that I still have an ongoing headache 2 days later. During the appointment, I looked very upset and Ambra literally said to me “are you paranoid? You’re giving off very paranoid energy?” I do not have enough words for how RUDE, ARROGANT, and NOT GENTLE, of a person Ambra is. Her accusing me of being paranoid, instead of kindly asking if something was wrong was extremely unprofessional and insulting and showed how she projects any issues the client is experiencing on the client instead of self-regulating to handle problems. I told her my hair felt like it was being ripped and that it does better being tangled from the ends to the roots. She did not care. She did not check in on if it got better. When she would hit a tangle, she would PULL, RIP, and YANK through it instead of slowing down to detangle it properly. She ripped through my roots every single time she needed to part it. What Ambra should have done is SLOWED DOWN (she seemed in a rush the whole time just to do her son and bf’s hair) to give my hair the care it deserved and to listen to my needs for my hair. I don’t care how long you have been a professional. Not all professionals have the training they need for kinky hair! Being natural your whole life does NOT qualify you as an expert who can’t be told anything about someone else’s kinky coily hair. And not all professionals listen to their clients. The way my hair and I was treated was not right!!!! I ended up asking to leave early because Ambra’s dryer didn’t even fit over my flexi rods and my hair was drying unevenly and the heat to my crown was causing it to hurt even more. Ambra did not ask what she could have done better like a true professional and instead started speaking at me very accusingly with “You” statements and again tried to suggest everything I raised to her was in my head because she’s the professional and “she’s right.” Absolutely disgusting. She did not say I’m sorry, she did not show care that I felt my experience was negative, she raised her voice, she disrespected me, and I’m sure she talked about me when I left. Ambra let me down every step of the way. My mom noticed none of the hair textures she had on the wall as “Black hair textures” had tightly coiled hair like mine. I believe this is because Ambra does NOT know how to properly and professionally care for tightly textured clients no matter what she says. A true professional would have listened to my needs, cared that something was wrong, and not tried to blame me for what I was noticing. A truly disgusting experience that I would recommend to no one despite her claims or the positive reviews.

Sydney was amazing, she is very skilled in different textures of hair! From the moment I walked in she made me feel welcome. After trying to find a stylist who don’t cut corners, who actually will wash and give you an amazing silk press! I’m so happy to find Sydney! I will definitely not only recommend her to others but also be returning as my personal stylist!

i’ve been learning how to do my natural hair for the last year and wanted to find a salon that catered to my specific hair care needs. I had a great experience with Ambra! I was able to express my concerns about my wash day process and products I was using and she gave me great feedback and advice on how to achieve the results I was looking for. I was very comfortable and felt welcomed by everyone at the salon, definitely returning soon!

Absolutely an amazing experience!! I was highly impressed, everything was clean, great vibes, pleasant stylist...definitely some black girl magic going on this place! And not to mention my hairstylist Janae did such an outstanding job with my silk press! She only did 1 pass during the press, I could not believe it! I felt so pampered. Thank you so much for giving me and other black sisters this magical experience!

I got a haircut at Allure Beauty a couple of weeks ago and I am ridiculously happy with the results! Ambra gave me the best haircut I’ve ever had, and she was so quick and communicative. She is truly talented. I recently moved to STL and had been to another well-known salon where I paid much much more for an unsatisfactory haircut, so I was hesitant to try another salon. Well, I’m glad I took the chance because I’ll be coming to Allure from now on!

Sydney is very knowledgeable about hair and encourages having a healthy hair routine to retain length and healthy hair. She has wowed me with each experience including Balayage highlights, silk press and now tape extensions. Each time I walk away I am more than satisfied with my style and and knowledge of how to manage between appointments. On top of that the salon offers a very clean, friendly but professional experience!

Sydney works at Allure and is very passionate about healthy hair. I was scared of breakage and did not want to add color to my hair. However, Sydney gave me confidence and motivated me to get color after giving me tips on maintaining healthy hair. I received a Ginger hair color and silk press that magically appeared to be my natural hair color (my hair is naturally dark brown). Ginger is one of my favorite hair colors because of Sydney. The hair products she used on my hair were amazing and I am currently using them in my natural hair care routine! I traveled from Chicago to St.Louis because I trust her with my hair. Sydney is a real gem and her kind spirit makes her an even more valuable hair stylist. I’m excited to travel to Allure for Sydney to do my hair again!

This was my first time at the shop, I wasn’t originally scheduled for Ambra but I understand things happen… but now I don’t want anyone else to do my hair. I loved my experience with her. She has great conversation and energy. The shop is very clean and orderly, I’ll definitely be back soon.

I went in for a silk press today and these 2 lady’s were beyond friendly and professional. The shampoo was great and smelled good. The silk press took less than 45 minutes. The lady who was doing her hair shared with me her experience in cosmetology. I loved every bit of it.

OMG, I had the best experience at my appointment yesterday. The relaxing atmosphere, the great products used, very professional are just naming a few of the great qualities this salon has. I went in for color on my locs. Ambra was very detailed and explained every step of the process. I got the EXACT color that I wanted which made me fell really good. Janae was also friendly, helpful and detailed during my visit. If you want quality hair color, look no further. I promise they this salon will take good care of you.

On may 18 20201 While I was leaving work at 7:08 am I got a flat in my back tire. My appointment wasn’t till 11:30 I was like cool I can still make it so waited for road side assist to arrive to my location mind u all this happened in the early morning hours. Roadside assistance come says you’re going to need a tow OK cool I’m not that far from home nor the location I’ll wait for roadside assistance they tow my car so I need to get two new tires I’m still like I can make it now this is where things get complicated I’m hearing impaired so making phone calls is not an option I basically do everything through email or have a hearing person around to assist mean I sent them an email and tells them what’s going on they cancel my appointment and keep my money over something I had no control over

Such an amazing experience at this salon. They styled my entire bridal party for my wedding and they did such an amazing job! They were on time, prepared, organized, time efficient, and very kind. They helped make the week of my wedding so much more relaxed knowing I could count on them! They also did mine, my sister, and my mom's sew in that week and we were all amazed by the services! I will definitely be going back and highly recommend allure beauty lounge!!

I was looking for a new stylist able to provide service for me and my daughter. I was recommended to Ambra by a friend. I wasn’t sure what to expect but needless to say, I was very satisfied. She has helped to restore my daughters hair and given me tips on how to maintain it. I love that she doesn’t require the hair to be straightened for trims. She also does an amazing job with color. All I do is give her a ballpark suggestion of what I want and she is able to add her creative touch.
