Amanda has been the best thing for my curly hair. I wanted to cut off 8 inches this time and I completely trusted her to just go for it. I have had her cut bangs in the past, cut my hair while long, cut my hair short, and I always love it.

Elizabeth 🌻 is one of the most amazing hair artist that you can trust her with your head. She has a great personality and great hands! She achieved beautiful highlights with cool tones on my hair and I had warm tones on very dark hair. She not only colored my hair but she advised me healthy treatments to keep my hair healthy. She really cares and understand what you need and she will make your hair dream come true! She is a true hair artist Fairy ❤️

Elizabeth is an absolute genius. She's detailed and thorough, and incredibly skilled and talented at her craft. I cannot recommend her enough!! 😊 The photos here are from our most recent cut, but she did the color previously, as well, and it even looks good with an inch+ of root growth under it. 😄

I can't say enough good things about Altar! Every stylist I've seen here has been wonderful. Open and honest communication, willing and very able to do funky cuts and colors, and can nail that sleek professional look just as easily.

Mimi is my jam!!! No one ever understands how to style or cut curly hair. She gets my curly kinky coarse hair like no one else. I can leave the studio happy knowing I look like me, but better. Plus the studio does everything I need. I can get pretty overwhelmed and panicked in most hair places. Altar is different. It's cozy and laid back. There are plants and fun music and a mellow vibe. All of their stylists give the kind of cuts you normally have to go to the city for. All without any pretentious nonsense or egos. I will be loyal to my stylist and this studio for the rest of time!

I can't recommend this place enough! Amanda absolutely kills it every single time! I have never had smooth, shiny and soft hair. In less than a year she has fixed my hair, given me an amazing new hairdo and given me so much confidence! 10/10 the best place I've been in the city! *it took 9 years to find this place and I'll never go anywhere else!!

It was my second time at Altar Hair Studio and it it was another amazing experience! Sarah is so wonderful and answers any questions I have and is happy to offer suggestions about ways to do better with my hair. Especially as someone who doesn't have the attention span to heavily research about my hair. I always walk out feeling way better about my hair. Sarah is also just super fun to talk to and makes the experience so enjoyable!

First trim amidst Covid-19. Spots are sanitized and each booth is separated by a plexi-barrier, but thankfully that doesn't inhibit communal discussion. In keeping with PNW-culture the salon uses a line of eco-friendly products that smell divine. Sarah did a beautiful job with my coarse hair and tamed it back to normal. I felt safe, warm, and welcome! Thank you again!

My experience here was SO relaxing and chill. Which is exactly my kinda vibe. Not only is it such a cute spot, but Amanda did an awesome job keeping me comfortable and taken care of. And most importantly, I left there with beautiful hair even tho my hair has a mind of its own and had Amanda working a lil extra hard today lol! 5/5 stars for me and highly recommend. I will definitely be going back for my next hair adventure. Thank you to be beautiful bday twin!

The ladies here do a fantastic job and are all very experienced and professional. They are all very sweet and understanding that your hair is your hair, so they won't do anything without asking your approval. Cute and small studio with lots of cool plants, a dog is usually there too!

I have been meaning to write a review for months! This salon is wonderful. Parking is easy, as is scheduling online, it is comfortable, warm, and welcoming. Amanda cut my hair and it was the best haircut I think I have ever had. She is also sooo nice! I have weird hair that is curly on top and straight underneath and had gone to the same stylist for over 10 years in Oregon so I was nervous to switch. After I moved I knew I had to find someone else and I am so happy I came here! Every day has been a good hair day thanks to Amanda. I didn't even know my hair could look so good!

This is a Cool and Positive place to go if you are looking for a good stylist ! Everyone seems to be great but my girl is Sarah! She does an amazing job! I’ve always walked out of previous salons and either hates my hair or thought it was ok or got something the stylist wanted me to have but never listened to what I wanted. It was a bad experience at other places until I found this spot! This is the first time I walked out beyond happy and wasn’t upset because I spent a lot of money . As we know hair cost and isn’t cheap! This place has fair prices , great people and is welcoming and inviting . Make an appointment though they are pretty busy but will make it happen! 🙏❤️🍸cheers! My first time visiting this place and I was very impressed! My hair turned out beautifully when I asked for a subtle balayage and new bangs after not having them for 6 years. I'll definitely be a regular here going forward.
