So unprofessional. Carlos canceled my appointment one hour before the actual appointment. He had texted me saying he was running ahead of schedule and was wondering if i could come in earlier. I was out and offered to come 30 minutes earlier before the scheduled appointment at 5pm. He abruptly canceled my appointment. These hairstylists think they’re all that asking for a card on a file and if WE cancel we get charged. This is not okay. I missed work for this and I could’ve made $200 tonight but he had to cancel my appointment because he doesn’t want to stay till 7pm. Like bro change your hours then and don’t confirm my appointment and cancel last minute. He also had the nerve to ask if I wanted to reschedule, yeah no thanks. Totally unprofessional and rude don’t come here.

Carlos / Charlie and his attended Monica are superb. Happy with their service, beyond general service too! They aim to ensure their customers are happy with their hair and over all services. I went from colored hair over 18 months ago and completely transition to my natural gray hair. In love and happy with my hair.

I have been to see Charlie at Amaro Hair and Skin a few times now and it is exceptional service and outcomes each time. He is very intentional in making sure you know what you want before you start and throughout the whole proceeds. He checks in with you, makes sure you are comfortable, and gives you great advice on how to take care of your hair. He also does an incredible job with kids and teens. I have been happy to refer people to him of all ages. Today I saw him and he had an apprentice in the shop, Monica. She is learning from such a good teacher and did a wonderful job with my hair. My boys and I will definitely be back.

Services: hair cut, shampoo and deep conditioning, tea tree scalp treatment, Olaplex hair renewal treatment. After going to multiple salons in Phoenix and not being satisfied at all, I was recommended Amaro salon for my son's haircut. His hair is VERY CURLY and not everyone knows how to manage it. The tons of advice Charlie has given my son are truly remarkable and appreciated. He is welcoming, knowledgeable, patient and kind. Charlie and his assistant Monica have worked really hard to bring shine and enhance the beauty of my son's natural curls. I am beyond satisfied for their service. Teenagers are difficult, and hard to please, but Charlie is an expert. :) I would certainly recommend Amaro Salon to Everyone!! Thank you!!

Carlos is THE BEST! He was beyond detail-oriented during my initial visit as we spent a good amount of time discussing my hair needs, and ended up with the perfect color and cut. As someone who is very particular about my hair color, he appreciated my concerns and what I hoped my desired outcome would be…and he nailed it! I highly recommend Amaro Hair & Skin, especially for those who have struggled to find a stylist who have not been able to create the perfect color to compliment your soul! I’d say he the Crown Chakra specialist for all your hair care needs! 💜

Charlie/Carlos is amazing, friendly, and a joy to be around when I have to sit in the chair for a few hours to get my hair colored. We have great conversations and the colors (I've done green and purple with him) come out vibrant and I always get tons of compliments. I've never had a stylist I've felt so comfortable with, and if you are gender non-confirming he is totally accepting of that as well. Highly recommend Charlie and Amaro, I have no intention of ever going anywhere else unless he moves out of state or something.

I am very impressed with his knowledge and expertise with curly hair. I showed him a picture of what I wanted and he gave me his opinion on how to make it easier to manage and tips to keep it healthy. I ended up taking his advice and I couldn't be happier. I have been to many places and not one gave me the cut and desired volume for curly hair as Amaro did. I highly recommend.

I found a great hair stylist! Very intelligent and professional. Carlos saved my hair that was neglected by my random visit to Smart Style(Walmart). I made an appointment online and I'm glad I did it. I highly recommend his services.

This is the worst salon I have ever seen in my lifetime. Very unprofessional. They gave appointment and confirmed appointment and in the meanwhile when I reached there the salon was closed. I reached there before ten minutes of the scheduled time, waited for some time. Then the scheduled time passed and no one is there. I wished I could give zero star. At least they should call and cancel the appointment if they were not available.

What an excellent experience. I’ve been going to Carlos for years. He does a great job listening to the hair vision, and executing it fully. Several times it was a platinum blonde done very well, which is exceedingly difficult!

Outstanding customer service. Carlos has such a range with his craft. He cuts my hair (fairly basic cut) and then he cuts my wife’s hair (curly, layers, shaping, much more complicated from what I can tell) and does an amazing job each and every time. He relocated to north Phoenix and we’ll make the drive each time. I highly recommend Amaro!
