The Westshore location is wonderful! I've been looking for a place to get a retwist that is closer than where I was traveling before. The prices and services are great and the stylist is timely. I'll definitely be returning to this location for service

Shala is amazing!!! I have fine naturally straight hair and she does the same styles I ask for without hesitation, even though it requires more skill to braid them with my hair texture. She’s so skilled at braiding. I go to her over and over again and she’s never disappointed me. I give her one photo of what I want my hair to look like and she gets it spot on every time. Good prices and good service. She’s reliable and has rescheduled me per my needs more than once with minimal coordination. She also has a second location in South Tampa and she’s always flexible to accommodate my preferences. Thank you Shala!!

I have never got hair braider care For a client like Wislande in that place. last week I had my hair done by her i will never regret in my life I had her she doesn't really speak English but she always has to ask her sister to ask me if I'm ok almost every 10,15 minutes always offer me water telling me if I don't like anything in the cooler please let her know what can she go buy for me she just trying to not let me stay thirsty after I done that when I find out that she and her sister are Haitian They are so sweet and kind I recommend someone like me when you try to go fight to have experience that I had Again thank a lot

Shala is an amazing human. We had great convo while she did my braids and the salon was quiet so I also got some work done. Her work is meticulous and thorough. Braids were ok. Took too long and too spaced apart and braids weren’t full . I asked for small knotless and got regular medium box braids . And the stylist was late and didn’t take money off because of it. Wouldn’t come back 6/10

DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON I WAS MUGGED AT THIS SALON!!!!!!!! The OWNER Denise, did my hair , it took her nine hours to do box braids and at the end after I TIPPED HER 20$, she locked me in the salon and tried to MUG me for 20 DOLLARS!!!! I recorded her ENTIRE tantrum. DO NOT GO HERE BAD BUSINESS BAD BUSINESS OWNER!!!!!!!!! *I am compassionate person and I understand the position she must be in, she’s older and must not be happy or like her life and clearly is struggling financially but God sees everything and the whole salon is in my prayers but I am not the one sis- posting to save others the aggression and intimidation!!!!!

Hidden gem of West Tampa! After my daughters braider moved out of town we where in search of a new professional location that could deliver and boy did American braids & beauty deliver. From the first call they where very responsive and professional with booking. Then when we arrived they where very courteous, knowledgeable, and listened to what we asked. Stylist Thalia worked on my sons head with starter locs and Denise worked on my daughter with no knot braids. Both exceeded our request. Worth every penny ! We will absolutely be returning and recommend them to anyone serious about quality hair care.

Im a latino woman that has really curly hair . And i wanted, needed a new look. I have always been really aware of my hair. It has always been an issue! But here, MsShala braid my hair, and made me look awesome pretty. I feel so good with my hair!! And the compliments.... Are so kind!! I am absolutely satisfied. I'm new to Tampa and have been looking for a place to get my hair done and I stumbled upon this shop. Ms.Simone did my hair and she went above and beyond to ensure that she achieved the style I was aiming for. On top of that, it was very time efficient and very reasonable. The shop was clean and organized. I will definitely be back!!!!

I have been getting my hair braided here since 2011. I have always had an awesome outcome and the cutest styles. My stylist, Shala, communicates well and listens to my concerns. I love that she helps me grow my hair by suggesting products and ways to take care of my hair.

I've had these braids in for a day and my hair is coming out because they're too tight. (Got my hair braided for a crochet base) Worst place you could possibly go if you care about the health of your hair. 1.) Didn't use heat protector when blow drying 2.)brushed hair from root to ends 3.) When I called to ask if they could undo them and rebraid them looser, they said it's my fault for adding crotchet hair to them and that's why they got tight...but they were already tight as soon as I left the shop. When I got home the fist thing I did was try to loosen them with the hot rag method and conditioner and castor oil. None of it worked so I figured I'd wait and see if it got better. Nope. My hair started coming. I do not recommend AT ALL.

Not too happy with the service. To start the stylist was competely unprofessional. She claims she was never told she had an appointment which may have happened but then gave me attitude like it was my fault they were unorganized and spent an hour complaning before she even started on my hair. I showed her a picture of what I wanted she did what she wanted making the parts incredibly large so that she would have less braiding to do. The braid sizes were inconsistent and I basically had to come home and add braids to make it look somewhat complete. I won't be going back.
