I travels 2 hours away and the atmosphere was amazing. Bathroom was super clean and smelled amazing. They will be the only ones touching my head for now on. Worth the drive and time can’t wait to come back

I got small knotless waist length. Took 5 hours for big parts and strands of my hair are left out in the middle, the braids are unraveling at the ends. They do the same amount of rows no matter how thick your hair is or big your head is so they look really thin on me bc my hair is thick and my head is big. Overcrowded in there, the braider next to me was so damn close her booty was on my arm. I would not recommend this place.

If you’re looking for an authentic African braiding experience, I highly recommend Amy’s Braiding Salon in Columbus, Ohio! I’m currently growing out my hair, and they were able to grip my one-inch hair without any issues. The best part? It didn’t hurt at all! The atmosphere was welcoming, and the ladies were incredibly friendly and professional. My braids turned out beyond stunning, and the entire process only took 4-5 hours. I was so pleased with the results that I made sure to leave a tip. Definitely a top-notch salon—will be returning!

I came across Amy's hair braiding on IG. Aside from the amazing work I saw posted I was happy to see they had walk in appointments. I mean sometimes I just need my hair braided today and not 3-4 weeks later. I called and was informed that they open at 630am and it was best to get there early so I did. In fact I was there at 610am and guess what.....They were open and already working on 3 people. I must say, I didn't expect them to be open, I honestly expected them to show up late. I was immediately seated and they got right to work. I am extremely pleased with how my hair turned out. They even did a great job on area of my hair where I have thinning, you can't tell at all. Although I have a young lady whom I have braid my hair regularly, I can see myself coming in at least 2-3 more times this year because of the convenience of walk in appointments. You ladies are amazing!!!! Thank you 😊

My hair turned out beautiful. Took about 5 hours and the ladies who did it were friendly and did not hurt me/pull on my hair. Normally Its hard to sleep on braids or move them around a few days but I slept comfortably and haven’t had any pain. Shop is busy so show up early 🙂

Definitely my new home braiding shop. I did a walk in & was in a chair within 5 minutes. I brought in an old wig for my boho pieces & was given no complaints from the workers they just cut the hair & separated the pieces to add into the braids. Everyone in the shop was super sweet and polite. My waist length small boho knotless braids took only 5 hours to do, which was a huge + !!! The parts came out very neat & the braids are very light. If you’re thinking about going to Amys braiding shop do it! You won’t regret

I came across this shop after it went viral on TikTok for supposedly offering great quality and speedy service. I drove from Cleveland to Columbus for my 1 PM appointment on November 9. In the days leading up to my appointment, I called to confirm the wash and blow dry service, and was informed it would be an extra $20. No problem! Upon my arrival, the shop was packed, but I was immediately seated. I had just taken out my braids and detangled my hair the night before, though there were still a few kinks. The stylist who detangled my hair was visibly upset with my hair and referred to it as "nappy." Charming, right? After a lackluster wash-barely satisfactory, if I'm being honest—| was directed to the next chair. The same stylist who washed my hair was also in charge of the blow-dry, as well as one of the ones responsible for my braids. Instead of detangling, she merely ran the blow dryer over my hair without any product, using a comb that clearly wasn't designed for detangling. Thankfully, another stylist, who actually knew what she was doing, stepped in to provide some much-needed guidance. However, once she left, said stylist continued to half-heartedly blow-dry my hair, taking almost an hour to finish—my hair was never fully dried. I can't complain about the braids themselves—they've held up well for almost a month. But after paying $240, l left feeling underwhelmed and unlikely to return. The shop was too crowded, the atmosphere lacking in warmth, and it took nearly 9 hours for medium butt-length braids. I arrived at 12:50 PM and left at 9:20 PM. At least the braids turned out nice. I rated it 3 stars JUST for the quality of the braids.

I love it all! I got my braids done this weekend at Amy’s shop by Katy and Natalie and both the ladies were nothing short of amazing. They worked diligently and made sure all my parts were crisp, length I requested and style! I got small sized butt lengthed knotless braids and they literally exceed any expectation. Nalin, the manager I believe made sure everyone was well taken care of around the entire shop, staff and customers! I will definitely be returning they deserve nothing but respect and five star reviews!!

Ok so this shop is ok . They have a lot of Braider’s and usually have 2 on your head at a time . The braids or not super tight they are just right and do not hurt your scalp . It is extremely crowded in this shop . Hopefully they get a bigger space since they are bringing in alot of business . I was given a price of $240 for knotless waist length boho braids . I have paid $240 before for this same style at a different Braider and hair was included . Amy does not provide boho hair so I really ended up paying $240 for the braids and $100 for my 4 bundles of boho hair and only 3 were used . So in total $340 . Price is way too high if you have to buy your own hair . I was in the shop almost 8 hours. Amy was very friendly and all the workers were friendly . Only complaints are the time I spent there getting braids, and the price for the boho since I have to have my own hair , and the over crowded environment. If you can deal with the price and a lot of people in the shop I highly recommend because it is very hard to find Braider’s that do not hurt your scalp and they did not hurt at all .

I showed a photo for reference at least 5 times at the beginning of my service. I also mentioned about three times that I have to put my hair up for work, so I don’t want too many braids on my head. They disregarded everything I said and the final product looks a mess. My part isn’t even in the middle. The braids are extremely tight, uneven, and extremely overcrowded, I’m very sad. I feel so insecure about my hair now, I don’t even feel comfortable posting a photo. Be careful if you go here, they’re not reliable and do not follow reference photos.

It’s crazy how they want there money ($200) up front but don’t even do a complete service. After five days my micro braids started unraveling and falling off. They wanted another $20 just to tie them when they should of been tied right from the beginning. What a waste of my hard earned money and time. Me and my daughters will not be returning. Where do I begin? First and foremost: SHAME ON YOU for ruining my daughter’s graduation photos in 2 days. Your work is subpar at best. Why do you ask your customers how they want their hair styled when you KNOW you are going to style it however you like? Who asked for the crooked part down the middle of her head because she didn’t. Ha ha, and knotless is KNOT happening. Hide your edges y’all, they are going to braid them up too. When you are done 6 hours later (and after having 2 people braiding), you’ll be left with a painful mess. Have you seen those pre braided wigs on TikTok? That’s how your braids will look. My daughter asked for boho knotless braids and got crooked box braids braided to mid back with flyaways and no edges. Her appointment slip had exactly what she asked for. During braiding she reiterated that she didn’t like how they were braiding and made her requests several times. She was made to pay $200 about halfway through braiding. Gotta secure the bag, right Amy? It’s okay though. I don’t want a refund and I sure as heck don’t want it redone. It’s a lesson learned. It’s a WARNING to any person wanting their hair braided. Find another SCAM…..oops, I mean find another hair braiding shop in Columbus. AMY’s AIN’T IT! P.S. I’m also reporting you to the BBB and the OH Dept of Taxation.

I showed them a picture of boho braids that I wanted and my hair doesn't look like it. They don't know what small boho braids are. Everyone in the shop got the same size It seems. Plus they charge extra to add more curly hair to the braids. Don't believe the tic tok hype! Also I told them I wanted small and they kept saying "okay it's small"

came out just as I wanted & was tight the first two days but I was able to style it after those two days , but beauty hurts I’ll definitely be coming back the women in there was so calm & nice , every-time they did hurt me they apologized each time they was very respectful & considerate of my feelings , highly recommend this hair shop

I’m only giving it two stars because I was really disappointed with the service I received yesterday. I did a walk-in appointment and told the lady that I only wanted seven cornroll braids however she proceeds to give me nine/without my consent - also, the lady does not know how to properly care for my 4C texture hair. Everyone knows you need to section a hair out to blow dry it. You can’t just blow dry it any kind of way. However, With her being a so-called professional, I let her do it her way/ For her to have the audacity to tell me that I need to brush my own hair because it’s nappy??? Obviously, you don’t know how to care for my type of hair and it’s sad because with us being from the same continent, I would expect you to know how to care for my texture hair instead of throwing insults!!! I will never go back to this place!- Even though she didn’t do my braids the way I wanted it, They still came out nice- But just the way I was treated I couldn’t even give her a tip and I usually always tip when I come. / also be aware that they don’t take card so if you cash app them, they’re going to ask for 5$ more

Took 7-8 hours for medium knotless, there were 3 people on my head at a point. Middle part is traveling down the side of my head for some reason and head looks a mess:(

Horrible! The way they did these so called knotless box braids on my head is crazy! They literally played in my head. You can see where they added the extensions. They braided down too far before even adding the extensions. The back of my hair looks extremely bad. They knew I couldn’t see the back. It took my friends at school telling me how the back looked for me to notice. I would never return nor would I refer anyone to this place. They expect payment upfront before you can determine if the service is good enough. They pull on your hair. When I normally get knotless they would last for 2-3 months. My braids haven’t even been in a full month yet and I already want them out. They lie about their prices too! They will tell you one price on the phone then another in person. I asked for xs braids. The braids in my hair are all different sizes. Highly disappointed
