If you have specific problem areas she will focus on those to give you the best possible outcome. I felt like she was very focused on helping me resolve or lessen my sciatica leg pain. She is very kind and polite and knowledgeable.

Marianne is hands down the best massage therapist I have used. Her knowledge of the body and of specialized massage techniques is beyond compare to any other therapist. Setting the appointment was easy and her response to my voicemail was prompt. Upon arriving she made me feel right at home. During the massage she checks in occasionally, making it easy to communicate. It's clear that her techniques are intentional and she uses breath as a tool. Marianne specialized in Ashiatsu, deep tissue, and therapeutic massage. Ashiatsu massage is a great deep tissue massage technique that doesn't compare to the elbows, forearms and hands. She utilizes her feet while holding bars above the table. It is uniquely incredible experience that I won't soon forget.

7/12/18 update: Marianne is truly at a different level than most bodyworkers. Her intuition and "wise" hands combined with her knowledge, care, focus, and broad skill set combine to create a practitioner who provides the best body work I have ever received. Basically she rocks!!! Original review: I have had a fair amount of bodywork/massage etc. and I rarely give reviews online, but Marianne is super skillful and with the addition of her Ashiatsu Barefoot massage provides a relaxing and wonderful massage experience. My only hesitation is that she will be discovered and get so busy she will be hard to get in to see! Without a doubt 5 stars.

My Ashiatsu massage by Marianne was my very best ever and I've had quite a few! Marianne is a highly skilled professional in the massage discipline, not only in her massage technique in general, but also in her ashiatsu field of expertise and is very knowledgeable and intuitive with her treatment! She was able to skillfully target problem areas and I left the studio, not only relaxed, but feeling like those problems no longer existed! I have no hesitation whatsoever of highly recommending Marianne's excellent healing therapy and if it were at all possible, I would give her 10 stars and not only 5! This was truly an amazing 5 star experience!

My experience at Ananda Massage was great! The environment is really nice and relaxing! Marianne sat down with me and listened to what exactly was going on. My muscles gather tension in my upper back resulting in common headaches. She then said that she would dedicate the entire session to my upper back, shoulders, and neck. She stretched everything out very well relieved a lot of built up tension. Definitely going back!

I've had lots and lots of massages, almost all of which I have enjoyed, but Marianne is a consummate professional massage therapist with a skill set that both my wife and I agree is above and beyond anything we have encountered. Her training is extensive in varied massage techniques, and as a client you get the benefit of all of her knowledge and skill. Best massage therapist in Reno without question!!!!

Marianne with Ananda Massage is an expert massage therapist in every sense. I have been going to her for several months now and have never had an experience that was less than amazing. She has a comprehensive knowledge of the body and possesses the full skill set to help you feel rejuvenated when bogged down by bothersome muscle aches/pains. She completed an ashiatsu massage on me for the first time, which was wonderful. Somehow Marianne can find those knots and pains before I even know they exist. The environment at AMT is clean, quiet and comfortable- exactly what I am looking for when its time to relax. I have recommended and continue to highly recommend Marianne for anyone looking for a quality massage.

Saw Marianne for the first time today. Absolutely wonderful experience. She is extremely professional, her studio is conveniently located and immaculate, but most importantly, she is a fantastic Massage Therapist. She is able to feel what's going on with the body, and ultimately what each muscle needs. More of an experience than just a massage. Being new to the area I thought it would take some time to find a regular therapist. I ended up finding my new regular therapist on the first visit with Marianne! Truly a great experience. I will be a regular customer for sure!
