Angelo David and his entire salon has been a top notch experience. Angelo, the owner, is what a business owner should embody. He is always engaged and present — and very available and attentive to his clients. He listens to what the client would like, offers creative advice, and is solution driven. He is kind and always shows the upmost integrity with the interest of his customers at the heart of everything he does. It is no surprise that his entire staff exhibit the same compassion, creativity, and skills. Everyone is a pleasure to work with from the front desk staff to all of the stylists and employees. The facility contains private rooms and all of the amenities to make our time there enjoyable and comfortable.

Ivy gave me the most beautiful haircut. I am hesitant to trust anyone with my hair but the first time I let ivy cut my hair I had never loved a haircut so much! She did a beautiful job layering my curls.

This salon is awesome! I was greeted by a friendly receptionist and had a consultation with Carlos. Ivy worked magic with my thin hair and made the color lighter and the cut was great. I highly recommend this place.

I had a consultation with Carlos about hair loss. He was incredibly kind and thoughtful discussing alternatives. Angelo came in briefly as well and was similarly inclined. I very much appreciated their contribution as I take time to make a decision.

I’ve been coming to Angelo David Salon for years, and I truly wouldn’t go anywhere else! Angelo David is a master at what he does – he listens, understands exactly what I’m looking for, and always exceeds my expectations. His skill and vision are unparalleled. Rita does the absolute best color – she has an incredible eye for detail and always gets my shade just right, making my hair look so natural and vibrant. Lupe works magic with my extensions, simply adore her! Always flawless! And I can’t say enough about Carmen – she’s the sweetest, always making me feel so welcomed and taken care of. Everyone that works here is so wonderful and always takes care of me! This salon is an absolute gem, and every visit is a perfect experience. Iconic New York Salon-Highly recommend!!!!!!

Okay this was a year ago but I’ve finally realized that if I’m still this mad, I’m writing a review lol. Anyways, I saw this salon from an influencers IG and was like ok let me go (should’ve been my first red flag esp since it was on Madison ave). I called and told them exactly what I wanted and they quoted me $250 for a balayage. I finished and they told me it was $500. Nowhere throughout the process did they tell me about the huge price change. Mind you, I was a natural brown with faded blonde on the ends so I really just wanted a touch up since it had been so long. It’s not like they had to do a drastic color change. And honestly, the person (I wish I remembered her name) really was not that nice and she didn’t do anything majorly special with my hair. Honestly so disgusted with their price gauging and never going back! Beware and make sure if they quoted you a price, you hold them somewhat to it and at least question them about it when they give you a crazy different price like I should have!

Where do I even begin to express how much this place has not only changed my life but also has given me my life back? I came to Angelo and Carlos because I suffer from scalp psoriasis and after moving to Jersey City, lost about 70% of my hair. To make matters worse, I'm also a hair stylist myself. I was not only devastated but in constant pain and extremely depressed. From the moment I contacted the salon I immediately felt hopeful. I had a video call with Carlos to discuss different options that were available to me and we set up an appointment for me to come in. The day of my appointment I was greeted by their friendly front desk staff and had some great coffee while I waited. I was then brought to a private consultation room so I wouldn't have to take off my hat in front of everyone. I met with Angelo, the owner, and was very happy with the amount of time he spent talking to me and helping me with my decision to opt for a full wig instead of a topper. Upon leaving, I was told that I would be called once the wig was ready. The day I got the call to come in, I was beyond excited! I came in and tried it on and could not believe how I instantly, after a long and painful year, felt like myself again. The wig was much longer than I had been wearing my own hair the past few years so I opted to have him cut it shorter. After the cut he said before he takes any more off, wear it for a week and see if I still feel the same. I came back a week later and did have him take a bit more off but am thankful of the recommendation he made. I cannot say enough good things about Angelo and his team. They really did give me my life and livelihood back and if I was able to give more than 5 stars I definitely would.

If there were Michelin stars for salons, Angelo David Salon would have earned one long ago! The level of care and expertise that Angelo and his team provide is unmatched. From when you step into his salon, you’re treated like family—Carlos is always there, looking fabulous, Rita does her magic touch with color (she's a genius!), and Lupe, makes me feel like a superstar every time I get my extensions done. Angelo's team goes above and beyond, and after seven years of being a client I have to update my previous 5-star review. I can confidently say that I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my hair. If you’re looking for more than a haircut, and to have a transformative experience Angelo David Salon is the place. I would give them a Michelin star!

Is there any rating lower than one star? My sister is in NYC on vacation and I booked with this hair salon to do highlights. I was told by Rita and Angelo that should be done in a two days process and will be costly so her hair is not damaged . They made sign a waiver form that they are not responsible to what will happen to her hair. After going on two different days of several hours Raj and paying $1000 yes you saw it right one thousand dollars, my sister’s hair is orange. Clearly Rita is not competent or a colorist for that matter and prefers to be paid handsomely for a very poor quality job. I should have known this when they made me sign the waiver. My sister kept on saying she likes it and when I asked her, she said I just wanted to get out from under her hands so she doesn’t damage my hair further. My sisters vacation is totally ruined. Angelo should know this and prevent such experiences as he clearly knows Rita is not a colorist. Follow up on the reply from Angelo’s hair salon. The reply is completely deceiving and untrue. We were never told that the process will require multiple times rather was completed in two times which could have been done in one time like every other hair salon, but I believe the aim was to charge double. So very disappointing that they don’t even apologize for big disappointing business practice. I had to show to my sister that the color was right so I don’t make her feel even worse. The sad thing is you want to provide evidence that we were happy , then if that was true why did I wrote the bad review for you? Simply because this is how I feel about your service and this review is not visible to my sister. She doesn’t know about it. In the first and second bleaching process Rita got bleached big chunks of the hair not covering every section and that’s why her hair color came out with three different colors. Rita herself said that. The reason why I didn’t make a fuss about the service is to save my sister the pain. Rita had no patience to bleach the hair properly and preferred to finish sooner than later or may be she has tired body and cannot work on a long process anymore. You guys are very disappointing. I am very sorry for myself to have come to your Hairsalon

I was so lucky that Rita was able to squeeze me in last minute! Serene, gorgeous salon in Midtown. Carmen was so sweet and welcoming and gave me an excellent shampoo. Rita was efficient and so intuitive with the exact length and texture that I was looking for. I only wish I lived on the East Coast so I could return more often!

I've been going to the salon for almost 20 years… I've lived in three different states and either flew or trained in to get there. Every time I tried somewhere else it just never was quite as good. Angelo is nothing short of an artist And he'll make you laugh while you're sitting in his chair. Rita is amazing and has made my hair color better than it ever looked. They are all talented and go above and beyond to really listen to your needs and deliver incredible results every time

Loved visiting Angelo David Salon! Ivy took the time to cut my hair exactly as I wanted it — fresh trim and long layers :) The whole experience was a refreshing break from meetings around the city on a hot summer day. Everyone there was so friendly and inviting. I’d highly recommend!

Angelo David Salon is the best salon I have ever been to. I recently told Angelo that Rita gave me the best haircut I have ever had in my life. She is just as amazing with color. I am a blonde with fine wavy hair and have found that my hair was either too light or dark and that the cut was never right with my very small forehead. I came to the salon with damaged hair and she has made it beautiful. Angelo shows how caring he is and takes pride in the services that his salon provides. I will never go anywhere else! They are the best!!!

Rita and Angelo are such pros. I love the vibe in the salon and love how I look when I leave. I have thick dark brown with grays coming in around my face. Rita does beautiful balayage all around my face and on top and it looks amazing, The grays are not even visible! Thank you Rita and Angelo David!

What a fantastic experience my daughter and I had at The Angelo David Salon. My daughter at a fairly young age was losing her hair. It was difficult for her to go to work and also being in social situations. We finally realized we had to get a wig. Little did I know that a terrible experience would turn into such a positive one. Why?? Angelo and his staff. They should call Angelo , Saint Angelo. He was so kind, understanding and patient. He explained all the various options we had , and we ended up with a topper of human hair. It is gorgeous and fits her so perfectly. The color is stunning and no one even questions its not her real hair. I am so grateful that we found this salon. We were so confused and anxious. SAINT Angelo David saved us. The compassion, professionalism and caring he showed us his beyond anything I’ve seen. Trust me you will walk out feeling confident and ready for anything. I Thank Angelo and the staff for their support and dedication to making people feel better about themselves

I have very nice long hair that I take immaculate care of. I got a really bad haircut ***somewhere else*** and had been crying for days. I panicked and scheduled a consultation with Angelo David last second because I was so upset. I came in and had immediate confidence in him. He is experienced, kind, and informative. I am only on my second day with him but he has been working with me, my finances, and my schedule to help me feel more confident (and more like myself) again. I can’t wait to see the results (it was really botched) and I highly recommend this salon. Comfort, quality, and just all around the best.

As a curly hair (type 3b) girly it’s always a bit scary working with a new stylist. But I’m new in town and I desperately needed to get a trim and was looking to add a little oomf to my style. Ivy was recommended to me. Everyone in the salon was super friendly and welcoming, they even made time for me to get a cut after my initial consultation on the same day. Ivy cut my hair to perfection! I have never had my hair cut like this and was a little worried at first. But now it’s dry and I can see that it is exactly what I was looking for. Bouncy, not too short, cool and healthy. I’m obsessed and I feel so refreshed! Thank you Ivy and the Angelo David Hair Salon for the wonderful experience!!

Couldn’t recommend this salon highly enough! I have been going here for two years now with Rita as my colorist and she is AMAZING. She always works magic on my blonde hair & does an incredible job with highlights. I always leave the salon feeling like a million bucks. Everyone in the salon is so lovely and they all go the extra mile to make you feel welcome & provide exceptional service. And of course it goes without saying that Angelo is the KING of hair in NYC… he goes above and beyond to make you feel special and truly cares about everyone who steps through the door. I have been doing the same thing to my hair for 6 years. Extensions and highlights. I never would have imagined the experience I had today. It was the best Salon experience of my life. They are classy, highly experienced, highly engaged. I have never been so happy with my hair. They have a customer for life. Worth every penny. Excited to see what my next extensions will look like since they’re going to be custom made. If I could give 5 more stars I would. Excellent experience! Highly recommend them to anyone.

Ivy Camacho at the Angelo David salon was recommended to me for a haircut. Ivy consulted with me before the haircut to understand what I wanted which was a shaping and to take some of the weight out. I was happy that she respected my wishes, and didn't cut too much or create a new style outside of our discussion. It is a very clean and professional salon. The rates are reasonable for NYC! Highly recommend.

Since 2009 Angelo and his amazing team has been doing my hair. Color by Rita. Extensions by Lupe (absolutely worth it) and Angelo with his amazing cuts. Carlos is always a pleasure. Always get compliments on my hair and I’m always telling everyone about them. Run don’t walk!

Such a pleasant experience from the first moment I stepped in, from the lovely ladies at the reception desk to the hairdresser and the sweet woman who washed my hair. Everyone was so sweet and made an effort to check in with me and make sure I was comfortable and taken care of through my time there.
