I had the best first experience with Courtney cutting my curly hair! She was informative, asked the important questions & took the time to teach me how to care for my hair better. The salon was clean, welcoming & inviting! Highly recommend.

I’ve been going to Antidote for years! I’ve always seen Amy. She wasn’t available, but I was able to have an appointment with Courtney and she did an amazing job! The staff are educated, friendly and so skilled at what they do. I highly recommend!

I've been seeing Courtney for the past 3 years. Not very frequently. I do like her work, but not when it's rushed or not done properly... last time she left me very green and I don't like confrontation and I was very upset. Now, this time, I wanted a retouch on my highlights. It was a partial. The front looks good, but she didn't bleach the back part or some of the top pieces of my hair. It just looks a bit blotchy and rushed. I have uneven pieces and harsh lines. I do understand that it's hard working on my hair, especially because I have thick curly hair. Which is the reason why I come to her. But this is my last time I'd be seeing her.

I love the service I get from Courtney & Lotus! They are great people & I hope the community will support this salon because many people work there & need to support their families. Their compensation to my knowledge goes to each individual stylist. The community needs to support the stylists I. This salon. They have NOTHING to do with external situations.

Lotus Hernandez was SO amazing to work with. I took my 18 year old daughter to her for a trendy cut, showed her a picture of what my daughter wanted and she absolutely nailed it. The salon has a very comfortable environment and the other stylists were fabulous as well. Can't wait to go back for my hair! 😅

I have had so many different experiences with different salons but this one has been the best for me. I first came to this salon just to get a cut and was so nervous because of how long my hair was. I made my appointment with Lotus. I spoke with her about what I was wanting to do. She understood and was very reassuring that she would take all the time I needed. It has been such a journey and I wouldn’t have chosen any other hairdressers or salon. I would recommend this salon to everyone I know who was looking for a great place to go. The vibes there are great. The other hairdressers are so nice. Over all it’s a great place to get your hair done.

I have terrible social anxiety about getting my hair done and always felt I only deserved a quick and cheap cut at places like Great Clips. After much research, I found Antidote Salon in Westport. The profiles of the stylists made me feel like it would be a judgement free place to go. The salon is cute and has a positive and cozy vibe. (The shampoo bowls are comfy on your neck too) While they offer many services (vibrant colors and even extensions), I chose only a cut with the salon owner, Amy. She took the time to talk with me about what I wanted for my hair and offered service options that would really help my hair. Amy was not at all pushy about offering and when I declined certain things, that was it, she did not try to convince me to buy more or make me feel bad. She really knows what she is doing and doesn’t stop until your hair is just right. She cut my hair according to my hair type and made it fit my facial features. My hair looks fabulous and I am not anxious about my follow up appointment in a month to trim up my neck and bangs. The best thing you can do for your hair and self confidence is to book your next hair service at this wonderful local salon!

UPDATE: all of your responses are absolutely not true and you are so unprofessional the way you speak to people who are unhappy with your salon. I had inspo pics of what my hair has looked like in the past that I showed her and did not by any means say I had a tight budget for this and also told her I understand that we will not get to the blonde I want in the first appointment going back blonde because I have been doing the same thing with my hair over the past 15 years. If SHE is not good enough to do what a customer is asking SHE SHOULDNT BE DOING IT. It’s unprofessional of her and you to tell a customer that you can do it and then leave them with NOTHING of what they asked and it looking worse than when they went in after being there for 7 hours!! DO BETTER AND TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY!!! Went in and requested blonde balayage on my medium brunette hair and left with orange, patchy, chunky highlights after 7 hours there. Stylist couldn’t understand my disappointment and asked what I didn’t like about it…even though I was in tears because of how awful it looked and it wasn’t at all what I asked for. I was still changed for part of the service and was not asked if there was anything they could do to fix it. I had to go to another salon to get it fixed, which cost another $450 to do a color correction because of the awful state my hair was left in.

I had an issue happen with my hair from a previous stylist. Not only was Amy patient with me but the products she recommended have been a real lifesaver for my hair! Love the atmosphere everyone there is so nice! A lot of talent there they are up with the trends and will take the time to make you happy with your experience. Go check them out!

I had the BEST experience here! I had been box dying my hair black or a dark cherry red for 2 years and was told by another stylist at a different salon my request for calico hair would only be achievable "over several sessions and several hundred dollars". She honestly made me feel like she didn't even want to do the service, and her verbiage made it sound like she was doing me a favor saying yes to doing my hair... Lotus made me feel the exact opposite (: she is super kind and knowledgeable in what she does. She quoted me a MORE than reasonable price for what i was asking, and even when the process took double the time than we had thought it was gonna take, she stayed true to her word and only charged me what we initially agreed on. She even let me throw the extra color on my eyebrows while i was waiting for my color to process lol. I have never had hair I loved more and feel truly blessed i found Lotus! Thank you again Lotus you are the best!

Lotus did an amazing job fixing my excuse of chunky highlight’s color and placement. Don’t spend your money anywhere else where they don’t prioritize what you asked for! She made sure I was comfortable and happy with the tone and placement. It’s a great place to get alternative style hair. Will be back! 🫶

I had an appointment with Lotus Hernandez. She was available at my appointment time and prepared. I didn't have a picture of the cut and style I wanted, but I described it to the vest of my ability. I was AMAZED at how Spot on Lotus Hernandez was! First Lotus washed my hair and did a hair treatment. The hair treatment left my hair repaired, soft and replinished. As Lotus finished up my cut she made sure I was happy with the face framing and layer lengths. She holds a great conversation while providing services while still being professional. When styling my hair, Lotus showed me what products she was using. (She even listed off some great alt. products that are within my budget) Lotus took her time and explained how to style my hair on my own, as she was styling it for me. She even followed up with me about a week later to to see if I had any questions and to see how I was doing. HIGHLY RECOMMEND seeing Lotus Hernandez at Antidote Salon and Beauty Bar for your hair care needs!

EDIT to OWNERS RESPONSE: Her last line truly reveals the professionalism that this has been handled with and what we've faced since that day in the shop. The owner's response was exactly what I expected. I never demanded anything. I asked 2 questions 1 - extensions - it burnt her hair and shortened it significantly I wondered if that would be an OPTION - I was asking a professional. 2 - yes - i did ask for a wig... not even an expensive one. For as messed up as her hair was maybe there was something instead of just "DEAL WITH IT UNTIL IT"S BETTER". I was very direct and to the point because there was no accountability other than - just deal with it until your hair is better. Even if it's embarrassing to go out in public - too bad. If you hire someone to paint your car and they mess it up and have to fix it back in the shop - they cover the cost of what you need to drive while they have it. If you hire someone to "paint" your hair and they mess it up - you just have to wear it and bare it. Part of this stems from the fact that from the very beginning she pulled in the implication of legal issues and said if I kept demanding things she would cut-off communication while we are still trying to figure out what to do with this hair & get treatments scheduled. (At that point I had only asked about the extensions to help restore her "look" at least) I emailed on a Weds (not Thursday) and heard nothing back. She went out of town on Friday - what happened to Weds/Thurs/Fri before she left? In the middle of a very stressed situation no response at all for 5 days after threatening to cut communication. We never said Courtney was not talented. We SPECIFICALLY expressed to Courtney that the pink most likely would not all come out and we were fine with that it was just supposed to be light. The fact was that never once was she presented with options of this tone or that tone or this color or that color. There is no explanation for why the darker copper color was applied. 2 potential repeat customers lost, NOT because of Courtney at all, but because of the poor handling of this issue. Original Post: The first service here was great so I scheduled a consultation for my next service and on for my daughter-in-law. The stylist listened to what we both wanted. Day of service again we repeated what we were looking for and everyone seemed on the same page. My daughter-in-law wanted very light blonde hair or very pale pink. At 12:45 my daughter-in-law was pleased (see the picture at the wash basin) with what they had done but the stylist had other thoughts. So then proceeded to do a color process, a removal process, another color process, a lift process, and another color process. We were there until 6 pm (started at 10:30 am). Each step just got worse. We left with my daughter-in-law in tears and in pain from chemical irritation and rough handling of hair brushes and washings. The salon wanted to apply another color treatment over what she had done but at that point it would be at least 7 processes. The salon did not charge for her services that day - which should be expected - and offered to do some protein treatments but offered nothing to help her in the meantime with the mess they had left. There were 4 different colors in her hair and patchy areas where the color didn't take. There was substantial breakage. We have since been "ghosted" because I was asking for some help/advice for something in the meantime for such a horrible result. Pics: 1 before, 2 early process that was really close to what she wanted, 3 - 5 after pics & 6 after straightening. This doesn't even address my hair - which ended up nothing like I asked for but at least decent.... I don't know how the stylist got both of us so wrong after consultations & restating that day what we wanted. I'm sure the response will be - I was rude and demanding high cost free services, and was speaking out to the stylist but I was not. I was only looking for options. When I began to feel bullied and blamed and ghosted is when I'd had enough.

I had such a great experience with Lotus ! She found me on Facebook when I reached out on a Facebook page for hairstylist in Kc after receiving a horrible hair cut at a salon in Sedalia, mo. Lotus was able to keep as much length and fix the shape of it, the layers/ style of it. She was so sweet and great to talk to! She also did my vivid color she had so much great information on how to take care of my first time experience with a Vivid hair color!

My wedding was a couple of weeks ago and Amy came to do my hair and makeup. I was brought to happy tears when she was finished and I couldn’t be more thankful. She went above and beyond to make sure that I loved my hair and was satisfied before leaving and I can’t thank her and her team enough. My bridesmaids updos were flawless and all of our styles lasted all day. My makeup was so well done and was the perfect bridal makeup and natural to my face! This is the place you want to book!!

Pretty upsetting. I went to the salon a few months ago and was super happy with the cut and color and service I received by the owner. I went today for another cut and color by the same stylist, and was upset how much she rushed - nonstop pulling my hair and jabbing my ears and scalp with the brushes, not checking the temp of the water or wiping all the excess dye from my head. this was something I was looking forward to to relax. She even mentioned as she was rushing me out of the chair that she always rushes everyone. She took me 15 minutes late so I expect she was late for the person who is scheduled after me. But when I got home I saw the real reason she was really trying to get me out of her chair was because there is hair dye all over my forehead and side of my face and it's just really disappointing to spend $130 to not even enjoy the service.

Amy, Lotus, and Courtney did my bridal party and I's hair and makeup and they did a fantastic job. They were able to accommodate to the styles and preferences for each individual, personalizing everyone's look. All the girls absolutely loved their hair and makeup. As the bride, I also did a hair/makeup trial prior to the wedding day with Courtney. She was very flexible and we worked together till we had the exact look I wanted. She recreated it perfectly the day of the wedding as well. I highly recommend their service to bridal parties!

I was able to have my bridal hair done by Amy, who also did updos for my sister and matron of honor. Courtney styled my 10 year old niece’s hair as my flower girl. They both did an incredible job, and I will be forever grateful for the services they provided and how well they provided those services! I couldn’t have loved my wedding day hairstyle more. i was here a couple weeks ago and the whole experience was great! everyone there is very friendly and the inside is nice. i got my hair done by Lotus and i am obsessed, she is amazing at what she does! i definitely will be going back.
