I have been seeing Holly since 2015 through many different hair phases! I followed her to Aporia Hair Collective because there is no one else I would trust with coloring my blonde hair. Even when I moved to San Francisco I would schedule hair appointments around my trips to Portland. Love her new space— so relaxing and a treat to visit.

Super happy with my haircut and color. I had been trying to grow my fine hair out loooooong for years (hoping my hair type might magically change into a thick, perfect mane), only to get frustrated and cut it myself whenever i started to get frustrated with how stringy and weighed-down it looked. I finally realized that having long hair just might not be what's best for my hair type and scheduled a service with Holly. Holly truly did intuit the right cut and color for me - i gave her free reign! My fine, wavy hair is no longer weighed down and sad-looking. I have volume now, dimensional color, and life in my hair! I purchased a styling product on her recommendation, and it's amazing... I'm able to continue air drying my hair, but my waves stay clumped together and voluminous! I'm in awe. You get what you pay for - Holly is worth it! Thank you so much!

This is such a beautiful space and Holly always does an amazing job! I first went to her back in 2019 and will never go to anyone else! She saved my hair and it has never been healthier or more beautiful! I recommend her to everyone!

Holly works magic.! She always know what I’m looking for even when I’m not sure. I leave feeling confident and beyond satisfied every time. She also creates a very comfortable environment that I can be talkative or not in. The salon is brand new and just gorgeous too. Plant and crystal friends throughout. :)

I had a really enjoyable time here! I have long curly hair (never gotten my hair colored or altered before). Holly added lived in beachy highlights that really flow with my unique look, they feel fun and natural. Great location, and the salon space is very beautiful with a relaxed vibe, very intentional design, that still feels very professional yet homey. 10 out of 10!

Alexandra gave me the best haircut and color of my life! I went in knowing more or less what I wanted, but I needed some guidance. Alexandra really listened and used her talents with color and hair styling. I left with a great haircut and a color that was just perfect. Can't wait to see her at Aporia!

Aporia is a brand new beautiful salon but I’ve been seeing the owner, Holly for about a year now. I decided to try her services when I was looking to make a big color change. She was super friendly and helpful during my decision making process and ended up transforming my previously chocolate brown dyed hair into a champagne blonde dream! Recently she helped me transition again to a slightly darker blonde, and my highlights have never come out so well blended and natural looking. She just has an eye for color and has mastered her technique, so I totally trust her. The salon is also a bright and welcoming studio space with great smelling products. Good spot to hang out while getting your hair done. I highly recommend giving Aporia a try!

Had an amazing first time here! The space is beautiful and the refreshments while waiting for my appointment were a lovely touch. Elena was fantastic! I was pretty open to any kind of cut, so I just trusted her skills and whatever she felt would suit me best and she did not disappoint!! She's a boss at razor cutting and I've recommended her to plenty of friends.

Holly is a hair genius. I came to her about a year ago with some very blonde highlighted hair looking for a change. She made my color look more modern and natural. She is easy to talk with but also okay with silence. We usually chat and then I get caught up reading as my appointments are usually long. The salon, Aporia, is beautiful. Can't say enough great things. I also love supporting a female run and owned business! Go Holly!!

Holly is a true GEM! I’ve been going to her for 6 or 7 years now and have followed her to 3 locations. I won’t let anyone else touch my hair. Her artistry and love for what she does truly shines at every visit. If you’re looking for a sign, this is it - go to her and you’ll leave feeling like the absolute best version of yourself.

I am so excited Holly opened up her own salon! It’s so comfy and cozy and on a great spot on Hawthorne. Every detail of the new space makes you feel loved and welcome. She has been doing my hair for almost 8 years and knows exactly what to do every visit without really asking :) Her trims always make my hair immediately healthier and bouncy without any treatment. I recently went blonde and she is so experienced she knows the right toner for my skin tone per season and how light to go depending on summer or winter. I have complete confidence in the chair!

I have been going to Holly for years now to have my hair cut, colored, and styled. Before I met her, my best friend was the only person I trusted to make my hair just how I wanted it. But when I moved to the OR/WA area, it was tough for me to find my next "forever" hairstylist. Holly is truly a miracle worker with hair, and for as long as I am in the OR/WA area, she will be the only person to handle my hair needs! I made the mistake of trying to go to other places once or twice while living here, but never again! Lesson learned! Holly is extremely professional, self aware, and aware of her clients needs and desires. She gives her clients a great session by being attuned to both introverted and extroverted people alike. She has truly honed in on her hair stylist craft and has years of experience. My most recent haircut I had at Holly's fresh new space "Aporia" was absolutely wonderful, calming, and delightful! The salon space has such a peaceful, tranquil, and pure energy to it, and I love the area of where the salon is located. I am so excited for Holly to get to spread her wings with her new business, and I will always recommend people to go to her for haircuts of ANY style! Please go see Holly for your hair needs soon!

I have been seeing Elena for over a year now and she is truly the best hair stylist I have ever been to! I do full foils/balayage to achieve my dream blonde look and she has kept my hair healthy the entire way. She is also so nice and non-judgemental, she even agreed to make an appointment to teach me how to blow dry and style my hair.... Can't say enough good things.

I’ve been seeing Holly for about 5 years now, and it’s been really exciting to see her new salon blossom with all of the qualities I love about her as a stylist! I now live in Hood River but drive into Portland to go to Aporia, and wouldn’t go anywhere else for professional color. I’ve switched up my color a couple times, and can always rely on 1) a fantastic, flattering result that exceeds my expectations (I get compliments ALL the time), 2) realistic guidance on what tone can be achieved per appointment while maintaining the health of my hair, and 3) a relaxing, inspiring, and positive atmosphere and salon experience.

What a wonderful experience! Aporia itself was so beautiful and peaceful. It gave off such a fresh and relaxing vibe! My appointment was with Alexandra and I am SO happy with how my hair turned out! I don’t think I’ve ever had a cut that made me teary because I was so happy, but it happened haha. Alexandra is so professional, kind, warm, attentive and a true artist. Thank you!
