I visited AR Salon for the first time this week and I will absolutely be back. This is the best haircut and service I have had in years. Arthur cut my hair and everyone is so friendly. You can tell they really care about their clients.

They used to be at W 26 street location before. I was a long term client. Here is why I left: repeatedly, over the years, male hairdresser kept discussing my money and my earnings, making me more and more uncomfortable. During my last visit he verbally chastised me for not having money to spend at his salon so he could increase the revenue he earns. One thing I don't allow anyone to do is count my money. This is unacceptable. I found someone else to both color and cut my hair where I feel comfortable and stress free. You have lost a long term client and over $2,000 for the last two years that I chose someone else's services over yours.

Worst experience with Albert. I came in for a haircut expecting long layers and only 1-2 inches off my curly, long hair. I showed some reference pictures too — all long hair pics. You can see my attached photos. He barely looked at the photos, didn’t ask me any questions and quickly cut off 6-8 inches. He would’ve kept going if I didn’t make a big deal out of it and ask him to stop. Now i’m left with shoulder length hair that looks even shorter since my hair is curly. Also there are no long layers anymore due to the short length of the hair, which is not suited for curly hair. He tried to cut some strange layers which makes the hair stick out above the shoulders giving it a triangular shape instead of volume at the top (see my attached photo). I need to get a new haircut to correct this botched job which will make my length even shorter. Poor example of not listening or respecting the customers needs. Ruined both my length and my haircut!! Instead of apologizing or offering a refund, the stylist and his coworkers then tried to gaslight me saying this is the length he showed with his fingers. It was not. Also he said it’ll take a few days to getting used to — no, it’ll take a few years for it to grow back. The nerve. I’m sorry I came here, and immensely regret my experience. 2 years of growing my hair out, all gone in 20 mins because I stepped foot into the wrong salon. I will not be coming back. Please avoid or you’ll be left in tears like me.

Went in to see Albert and he gave me a short fringe bang when I asked for curtain bangs and face framing layers and was not given either. I showed him photos too, and told him to start long before we cut short. He immediately cut my hair so short and I’ve never had a worse haircut in years. He gave me true fringe/blunt bangs with zero face framing layers. I look horrible and I’ve cried about it all day as it will take months to regrow out to its original length. Paid full price even when I said it wasn’t what I asked for and didn’t like it. Included photos of what I asked for vs what I got Would not recommend Albert for women’s hair I will not be going back

Albert did an amazing job styling my hair. He was so patient in explaining to me what style best fits me. He also walked me through the entire process and made sure I understood it well during my hair cut. Will definitely visit again when I'm in NY again. ❤️

(Albert) I've been a client of Albert for the past 2.5 years, since March 2021, and I can confidently say that he's one of the best hair stylists I've been to. I've had my fair share of poor haircuts in the past, and I completely trust him to listen to me and make me feel confident. I don't visit the salon too often, maybe two or three times a year, but my hair always looks and feels healthy for months after. Thanks Albert!

Albert is a great hair stylist to cut and style hair! He really knows what he’s doing and is super professional. I wanted more volume in the front and layers that fit well with my face and he knew exactly how to make that happen. Highly recommend 🙌🏼

Albert is an incredible hair stylist. I wasn’t sure how to describe how I wanted my hair to turn out and provided minimal instructions but Albert knew just how to cut my hair to produce gorgeous results. I’m in love with my new hair and a lot of my friends are using it as their reference photos for future haircuts. I will definitely be using Albert in the future and the price is also very fair!!

I’ve been coming to this salon for over a year now specifically for Albert! He always does a great, thorough job trimming my hair & even gives me styling tips / recommendations. He is super experienced & very knowledgeable about haircare. My appointments are always on time too. The other gentlemen in the salon are also always pleasant & sweet every time I come in. Love this place & shout out Albert!!!

The first time I patroned this fine upscale casual shabby chic hair boutique they cut me, like professionals but beyond like experts or hair alchemists. .after that hair cut nine years ago I received torrential down pour of compliments, which boosted my confidence. Now nine years later in the future I'm traversing Chelsea and I see the AR Hair Salon.! I thought to my self that this impulse decision to treat my self once again to an exquisite hair cut n style, was indeed a no brainier. Arter the alchemists of fine hair cuts is now and will be forever venerated and trusted with my cuts moving forward. Ps. The hair wash station was cathartic , blessings and favor to you arter. This salon is a hidden gem! I have been going to Albert to get my hair cut for about a year, and every time I go in, I know I’m in good hands. I usually have no idea how to describe what I’m looking for, but Albert just gets hair and can interpret what looks best based on my hair type. He’s definitely a master at his craft (as well as a really nice guy!). The prices are also extremely reasonable for such a wonderful studio and quality haircut in a super convenient location. 1000/10 would recommend.
