UPDATE 2/1/25...I just had my hair done by the awesome ladies at Arise N Shine. As I walked in the door, I noticed beautiful music playing & a calm atmosphere. I now have beautiful, knotless braids in my head. It took 4 women and their expertise, and they did an amazing job! They were diligent and thorough in their work. I haven't had my hair done by Ms. Prisca...yet! I'll see her Saturday. I will be updating this post immediately after my appointment. The reason for this review is because I was so thoroughly impressed with the warm greeting I received when I walked in. First, I wanted to know exactly where it was, secondly, I wanted to introduce myself and lastly I wanted to find out the price, etc. Her price was agreeable to my my billfold and I had chance to catch her in the middle of her work. She did a really nice job with my braids and paid attention to details. Her prices are very reasonable for her quality of work! She was almost 30 minutes late to my appointment when it was verified that day the details of the appointment. I have referred other people to her who also had the experience of waiting for her to arrive. EDIT: I went back again a second time and she was there and prompt! She does an amazing job with the braids and she’s super flexible with time.

If you plan on getting anything like locs crocheted/installed here, please think again. I honestly can’t give this place anything more than 2 stars, and that’s only because I didn’t have a bad experience while getting my hair braided. The price was okay and the time it took to get them done was alright and the ladies there are very nice, but my problems stem from the actual work I had done. The locs got loose not even a month after, but I could always tighten them. But imagine my surprise when I take out my locs just to see the way she braided my hair under… made it impossible to take out. It’s like a weird type of cornrows and they all connect, there is no beginning to start unbraiding from and I had to cut some hair. Even typing this now I have no idea how I’ll take them out without cutting a good chunk of my hair. That’s potentially years of growth wasted. Obviously from other reviews you can see they do good work here (when it comes to braids atleast) but it’s so disappointing what I was left with after leaving. These hairstyles are suppose to promote hair growth and it’s looking like I’ll end up loosing some instead. How ironic.

Prisca is such a good braider she can really do any style very well for a great price! She keeps her space clean and is kind to every who comes in. She has excellent customer service. I don’t get my hair braided by anyone else. Her attention to detail is immaculate. Definitely worth booking and appointment if you are in the omaha area looking for a quality hairstylist.

The best place to get your hair done. They care for their customers and their prices are fair. They not greedy like many of the other African ladies. Also you don’t have to worry about them talking negatively about you because you don’t speak their language 🙂

Its a beautiful location right across from the mall. They started right away and did a bomb job. My parts and braids were perfect size i selected and even. Started at 9am ended at 12:30pm 2 people in head.

They did a great job taking my braids down at this shop. They went over and beyond by washing and conditioning my hair after removing the braids. The owner is super nice and accommodating, and the shop is clean. I definitely recommend this shop.
