The best salon i’ve been to in nyc. the stylists and staff are so nice, the space is gorgeous and my hair has never looked better. truly a great salon, i would not go anywhere else. Skarlin and Jeffrey are artists with their work!

I've been getting haircuts by Russ since he worked out in Brooklyn. I followed him when he opened his Salon and followed him once again to this new, beautiful location. The staff is super friendly, and he's a master! He listens to what you want and advises on whether or not you can achieve it. Russ is my guy!

Love this salon! The staff is super kind and helpful and they also use great products. I had a hair cut with Jenna and she nailed the reference photos that I showed her. All in all a great experience and I will definitely be returning.

Jenna is absolutely amazing! She made the entire appointment very comfortable and took the time to understand exactly what I was looking for out of my haircut. I got bangs and layers on a shorter hair length and she completely nailed it! Will definitely be returning and would highly recommend Jenna!

I am so glad I found Art + Autonomy! I was looking for a new salon (beautifully designed btw) and am pretty picky about finding the right hairstylist. Boy did I hit the jackpot with Noelle! She’s amazing and works her magic to transform my hair into the look of my dreams from cut to color and styling. She’s also great with my tween. Highly recommend!

I had an amazing experience getting my hair cut with Jenna! I have naturally wavy/ slightly curly hair, but I had never really had a "curly" haircut before. Jenna (who has curly hair herself) did a fantastic job bringing out my natural curls while preserving my hair's length. I will definitely be coming back :) And, as an additional plus, the folks at Art + Autonomy were incredibly sweet and offered me a wide variety of teas to choose from. All in all, it was a lovely experience.

Jenna did a great job on my cut and highlights. Very thorough and meticulous. I've been looking for a salon where I could become a regular since I moved back to New York several years ago, and I think I've found the one in Art + Autonomy. The staff is super friendly and accommodating, the salon is beautiful and relaxing, and of course, the stylists are great.

Love love love this place! Everyone is super nice and the place is very friendly. But especially Jenna! It was so difficult finding someone to trust with my hair but now anywhere she goes I will follow. She’s done everything from simple trims to giving me bangs for the first time and I’ve loved every single cut. She is great about talking through what you have in mind even if you don’t have examples. She’ll also give suggestions on what would work best with your type of hair. She’s seriously the best!

Ali has been cutting my hair since the salon's early days. She's a true master. First, she's creatively gifted. She sees her clients in ways they didn't know were possible. Second, she's got insane technical skill. She always knows what do to execute her vision. It's cool to sit in the chair and watch her shape my cut and then texture it. I feel like art! It's like she remembers every one of the cuts she's given me – it's a super power – so if I want to go back to one, she can resurrect it no problem. She has my FULL trust. I could close my eyes in the chair and know that I'll look amazing when I open them. Big thank you to Ali for keeping me looking good over the years. To many more years and conversations in the chair!

Amazing bob from Jenna! She gave me a great cut, but first and foremost I appreciated that she took the time to listen to me about my hair so she could take the best approach to the cut. I’m 43 this year, so my hair type and behavior is not foreign to me but I’ve often felt dismissed when trying to explain all of this to a new stylist. I have pin straight hair, it goes limp very quickly. Too much product weighs me down, and too much graduation in a bob gives me helmet head. Jenna sat with me and discussed all of these factors before sending me for a really nice wash, and then giving me a beautiful cut that perfectly met my expectations. Everyone I encountered at this salon was lovely. I’ll definitely return!

I could not love Art and Autonomy more, specifically Jenna Parker. No one has understood what I wanted for my hair more than she has. Everytime I see her I feel like a living breathing peice of art afterwards. As a blonde- and dynamic blonde at that, it’s hard to achieve. Jenna is an artist and whether it’s a haircut or a highlight or balayage, she delivers everytime! Go to Art and Autonomy and ask for Jenna!!!

For the first time ever, I sauntered out feeling like a dream instead of a frizzed out mess that needed to be tied down. If you're going to be paying NYC prices for a haircut, you might as well go somewhere where you're actually getting your money's worth--and this place is just that! The staff are always super friendly and accommodating, and Scarlin is an absolute wizard with curly/wavy cuts (literally LOVED every haircut she's ever given me lol). Would recommend!

Jenna is my favorite hairstylist EVER! She always hits it out of the park—and I can be adventurous sometimes ;) She’s taken me from bright blonde to natural blondie, to fun pops of red & orange, to brown, and all the way back to bright blonde again. This was my first time visiting the salon, and Jenna did an incredible job! She gave me a graduated bob, one of the most difficult haircuts to master because of the extreme precision it requires. We made sure we were on the same page regarding the specifics of the cut, and Jenna helped give me suggestions on what she thought would look best with my hair texture and face. The result was fabulous! This experience was truly a luxurious one.

Went for a hair gloss..My hair turned to black colour although I had asked to keep the same/dark brown colour as I just wanted to blend my greys. She helpfully pointed out that I can keep washing my hair and the colour should fade in a few weeks..because wasting $100 and being stuck in with bad hair for 4 weeks is not a big deal. I came home to discover there was also dried colour left all over my hair line as an added bonus. It’s disappointing to try a new place based on positive Google reviews which are clearly paid for. Would encourage people to give real reviews as not everyone has time and money to waste.
