As someone who's always had weak, brittle, short nails that never seemed to grow, I'd more or less accepted that I'd never be one of those girls with luxuriously long, natural nails I used to catch myself staring at enviously. Enter Art Nail NYC. Two years later, my natural nails are longer and stronger than I ever thought possible (I'm still in complete awe every time I see them without polish 😃) - no shoddy artificial tips or gross-ass powder gel (my former manicure-of-choice 🤦🏻♀️) required. While I was initially hesitant about the cost (so hesitant, in fact, that I waited almost a year after learning of ANNYC to finally book my first appt. there), the investment has paid off in strides - and proven to be truly invaluable. If you're on the fence like I was, take it from someone who waited WAY too long to take the plunge - your nails (and confidence) will thank you.

I love their focus on artistic designs, and the owner is a true gem. Don’t miss this new addition to the union Square community of small businesses. I’ll be back for pedicures in the spring time!

ArtNail is the elite nail salon in NYC. The techs are incredibly talented, not just with the nail art (which is insane, idk how they do it) but they prioritise your nail health and longevity. I can never stop coming here coz I can't live without the daily compliments on my nails, my ego would be in the gutter.

Faithful client since ~2020 they helped me repair my nails from dip powder manis. My nail artist is amazing and if my nails didn’t grow out as fast as they do now thanks to these artists, I would probably be able to extend my Art manis to 5 or 6 weeks ! That’s how great their products and application are ! 10/10 recommend !! 🌟

I only trust Art Nail artists with my nails.

I have been getting my nails done for years and have my fair share of experiences at salons. mostly chop shop salons who would tell me what was best for my nails and ruining them with low quality products and not treating my nails properly. I have been really impressed with this salon! my nails have never been healthier or longer! I prefer gel x over putting gel on my natural nails, but have done both with incredible success. I am able to go 4 weeks between each set which is really unbelievable for me! I never knew my nails could be so healthy. Art nail takes incredible care of my nails! also, this is THE PLACE if you’re looking for impeccable nail art. I am a simple nail girl, but the things the artists do here are absolutely incredible. I’m actually shocked there are negative reviews here- I would recommend this salon to anyone who is willing to invest in great nails!

Beautiful nail art at egregious prices. As others have stated you don’t know the final price until the end of your service so it can be anything from $100 to a million dollars. Was charged over $300 ($269 + tip) for basic silver swirls and four “tier 3 nails” (3 rhinestones and glitter) Literally no skill required to do this kind of thing. Almost passed out at the final bill. Never in my life have I paid so much for having my natural (super short) nails done. No extensions whatsoever. Never ever going back. And please do not respond to this review unless you plan on returning a portion of the money you all overcharged me.

I love coming here, I’ve been a client for probably just over a year now. As someone who loves having gel manicures and my natural nails long, I’ve been exceptionally happy with Art Nail. They can do soak off removals but usually instead file down to the base gel, and then only prep the new growth, which is really ideal for my nails, and removing heavy acetone use has noticeably improved my nail health. I also love the added attention to cuticle health and managing the general small callouses that form next to my nail edges. I’ve used a variety of nail technicians here since my availability is a bit inconsistent - though I think there’s a lot of potential in having someone specific you go to as your desired art and their style could be well aligned; I’ve gotten to listen to clients and artists collaborate in ways where it’s clear they’re familiar with one another’s preferences and art and it comes out stunning. I’ve seen Jeidy, Natalia, Nik, Cece, Asia, Phoukhane, and Demisa, they’re all really wonderful. Some folks are more quiet and focused, and sometimes it just depends on the day if an artist is in a place to chat or more “heads down” working on my nails. They also have a fantastic nail fix policy. Like truly if you’re not happy address it at your visit or ideally while your nails are being done AND if something goes wrong after you leave just text them with a photo, they’ve never been anything but polite and helpful - even when the nail break 24 hours after my visit is likely due to my own negligence they’re exceptionally helpful.

It’s quite unfortunate because the work here is good. But they will add artwork to your original booking and not let you know that the total job will be over $100 and what you thought it would be. The technician just kept adding art without letting me know that it would be extra. Since every salon seems to have a different policy I had no idea that what I booked and what I ended up paying would be about $100 or more different. This is something that should be set upfront. Especially if you send the nails that you want and they don’t match up with the booking. They should let you know that what you want will be significantly more so that you can make the choice. I was shocked when they told me the final price at the register.no apologies either. I even texted the owner after to let her know that it wasn’t right and still no apology. As much as I like these nails, I will never be going back. Edit: all nails fell off 2-3 weeks later. Yuck.

I’ve been coming here for 3 years. I’ve seen at least 6 different techs and they ALL deliver the same baseline. The nails don’t lift. The single color is perfect. The art is capturing my inspo! These artists don’t miss. Alas…I’m coming for naked manicures now because I had gel for two years straight. Seasons change.

I went this morning to do my nails and after half an hour they were already messed up. This is happening for the second time and I am really upset about it. This is not the way of providing a good service. This is not a service of 120$ plus tips For just one color on short nails. Later I texed to say what happened and to ask a refund ( I haven’t asked for a refund the first time cause everyone can make mistakes) and they told me the reason why my nails were not done well was because I had my dog with me and it was a distraction for the tech. First I want to clarify that my dog was there because she is a service dog and I have a service dog for an important reason and also I want to say that the first time they provide me a poor nails service my dog was not even there. Other than that I do not understand how a dog can be a distraction to someone that it is working in a professional way especially when a dog is a service dog and as such it is properly trained. I think that giving the fault to a service dog has been a very lack of professionalism and humanity towards a costumer. They are not willing to provide me a refund but just a store credit which of course I will not use after all this since I am not willing to go back there. Plus they are always very fast to charge your card when you are late with your appointment or when you ask for slightly changes to your nails but they do not care to give your money back if they do something wrong. I highly suggest you to not go there for any services they provide cause they do not care about making you comfortable and about providing you with an enjoyable experience.

I've been coming to Art Nail for about a year and a half now, and I no longer go anywhere else. THE best place for nail art in New York: everyone here can actually do art (skill levels vary, but this isn't a place where only a handful of the techs know how to do the designs they post on their Instagram) and there's a focus on keeping your nails healthy and strong. My natural nails have grown so long since I started coming here, it's insane. Prices are fair for the level of skill and quality of service you receive - especially if you're getting a design that's more complicated. I've gotten art from most of the well-known downtown studios at this point, with mixed results. This place is the real deal

I’m on the fence! Communication was a little confusing and the spot is sort of odd, definitely not a full service nail salon feel. One of the few places in the city to get IBX, which is amazing! But my manicure with IBX was $70 and my nails were still kind of a mess after. Ragged cuticles and lots of dirt and some old polish residue still left behind. For reference, the first two photos are my nails right after my appointment, and the second two are after I got home and cleaned them up properly (still sad cuticles though 🫣). For $70, I was hoping for a lot more and a more luxury type experience. I might return to keep getting IBX, now just knowing that your money isn’t going very far here. ETA: so confused about the business’ reply! they only reached out to me after i posted the review, not before. they also didn’t explain any of this at my appointment? nor did they explain how “not doing cuticles” explains my nails not being cleaned or anything? (they also used an electric file on my cuticles, which made them all raggedy? i just don’t get it) anyway, they think a lot of themselves and their whole “education” thing but their service is just not there. their responses have me happily taking my $70 elsewhere.

I’ve been going here for years and I love it deeply. The owner treats her workers fairly and thoughtfully (seriously, all the artists tell me this) and for this it’s already a better business in my book. But beyond that, my nails have never looked better or healthier! I did Apres X for a few years and finally transitioned to my natural nails recently thanks to ArtNail. Will continue to be a customer for a long while.

Nik is a genius. I'm obsessed w my nails. Everyone is so sweet and helpful. Love this spot.

Really mixed feelings about this place. I've gotten gel manicures on my natural nails since 2018 in different places, and I haven't had a service this disappointing in a while, especially at this price point. I paid ~$150 for a gel removal from a different salon, a manicure, and very simple nail art. I got multiple cuts on my fingers because the nail tech filed super roughly and it seemed like she was trying to move quickly and timing herself. I don't understand why she needed to move super quickly either since the appointment still took two hours in total (I know this is a relatively normal appointment length for the services I booked, but in the past I've just had gel removal, manicure, and more complex nail art done quicker AND I didn't get any cuts because of carelessness). In the years I've gotten gel manis, I don't think I've ever got cuts, or was ever in pain because the nail tech pushed my cuticles very hard, or felt like my nails were about to burn from the gel curing lamp. I know some lamps do that, this one was definitely an outlier cause usually that burning feeling only happens on 1-2 nails but this was all of them. To add to that, the nail tech was also kind of rude. I usually try not to give a lot of flack about people's attitudes cause you never know what people are going through, but if you're rude AND gave me cuts? Nah. I was just so turned off by the whole appointment that by the end I just wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. I've been looking for a new regular nail spot and have been trying out different salons in the city. I don't think I'll come back here. I really wanted to like this spot because I admire the creativity of their nail techs and it seems like they greatly prioritize safety and cleanliness, but the quality of service I got was really not worth it for the price. I don't mind paying a premium price if the service is good, but I feel like not giving your clients cuts and not hurting them are pretty baseline requirements at any price point — let alone for $150 for a super simple nail art at that. It's disappointing.

The best nail salon in Brooklyn! They can do whatever u asking for, lots of colors, designs, foils etc. Very pleasant people, good service. Overall a beautiful experience. Manicure last long, 3-4 weeks. High quality!

This has to be the worst nail salon for Apres extensions in the city. First off, the women working here are rude and unfriendly. The owner has unethical business practices and her reputation is knows for this. The nails done are bulky and messy and overpriced. If you’re looking for a better salon- go to Akiko nails or LeaPia salon in Chelsea- their nails artists are nice, personable, and skilled.

I have been going to Sandra for over a year now (since before the pandemic) and I am SO happy her business has grown so much! She is wonderful and incredibly talented! Every time I go it's clean, and so well done! I get tons of compliments whenever she does my nails and recommend this place to ANYONE. Additionally, the gel is so high quality and stays on longer than any other gels I've had AND because it's so high quality it helps my brittle nails grow! Could not recommend more

Jennifer did such a beautiful job on my nails!!! They use top tier products/ keep a clean environment and she was super meticulous with the design (even pickier than I am!) would definitely recommend if you want a quality manicure. They also give tons of tips and advice for nail health which I appreciated, plus she sent me home with a small maintenance kit. 10/10!

Nails came out really nicely but the pricing is extremely unclear. When you book extensions online there is zero indication you need to click the button to “add base color” which adds $55 to your total. I was not informed of this until AFTER my appointment. They have my number and email on file so I’m not sure why I wasn’t told until after. I ended up paying $70 more than I was expecting, and when I called I was told I could just send a picture next time for a quote. If you get Apres gel extensions with 2 fingers of nail art be prepared to spend ~$200.

very delayed review.... i never really do this here but how can i not when i tell everyone everyday the countless ways this place is (objectivity speaking) the BEST. on every level. their art and designs are utter perfection (take it from me, my taste and eye in that regard are a bit extreme 😅). whether you come with your own idea, or give them free range, they will kill it! next, the integrity they hold is truly unparalleled. it’s not at all just about your nails looking good. they care more about your nail health than you can imagine. before them, my nails were constantly destroyed by even the high ranked places, but now i constantly have the healthiest nails thanks to them. speaking of health, they take covid care to the next level... the atmosphere is beautiful, peaceful, and fun all together much thanks to sataya’s incredible ownership and her team.... i have way too many amazing pics to share to choose, i’ll try to post those later... can’t say enough good. 😊❤️❤️

Amazing customer service, everybody does great work, my nail tech Dakota is sweet, talented, and very accommodating; the owner is very involved, hands-on, and runs an HONEST luxury business. Their quality control and communication with clients is the best I’ve ever experienced anywhere. What more could you ask from a nail salon?? All of those things are hard to find on their own, let alone together. All the girls here go above and beyond to make their services worth every penny. Thank you, Art Nail NYC! I will be seeing you guys again soon!

love love LOVE this salon! They are so detail oriented and conscientious about all their work. They are pros at shaping and take such care with removal that they never damage your natural nails. Their gel manicures on natural nails last 3 weeks with no chipping or lifting and the Apres Nail system they use for extensions are also amazing...no lifting for 3+ weeks at a time.

Don't... I feel like this place is a big giant phony fraud. I'm very disappointed in how my nails came out. I set an appt here after my appointment at Vanity Projects got messed up. I'm pretty particular with my nails and it was my birthday so I had been hoping for a particular design. I called the salon and asked the receptionist if their technicians specialize in nail art and she assured me that was their thing Anyway when I got there for my {{{appointment}}} I waited 40mins for service. Something I know wouldn't have been kosher on their end if I had arrived 40 mins late. The nail technician was fine. She got friendly and talked to me a little but she started kinda cold. Looking back at my designs I'm pretty disappointed in how sloppy everything turned out. I paid $152 and felt very cheated by the value and quality of what I received at that price. Vanity specializes in artists that do complex designs and I pay far less there. It was all a very strange experience and I can't help but repeat how cheated I felt when I left. Rewind back to my call with the receptionist and my conversation with the nail technician about the pricing and it all was very unclear in their communication (well the receptionist said she would explain when i arrived which never happened although she had 40mins to do so lmao...) The designs on my nails look smudged and like something I could have done myself or even my little sister. I do not recommend this place.

This was my first experience getting nail art done and it was AWESOME. Sataya took my half-baked ideas and created a gorgeous design that I still haven’t stopped telling people about! We had a really great conversation and the atmosphere of the market is fun but still relaxed, I definitely prefer it to the sometimes over-quietness and mild discomfort of a traditional nail salon. Plus, I’ve never come out of a traditional nail salon absolutely LOVING my nails and showing them off to strangers like I did when I left Art Nail. I can’t wait to go back! I will always go to Sataya to get super special manicures that last a long time and don’t destroy the natural health of your nails!
