Got my hair colored and cut by Gaby. She did exactly what I had envisioned, so easily. Couldn’t recommend her and Arte salon anymore! Everyone was so accommodating and sweet. Was at my appointment for a good amount of time, but it went by so fast! Will definitely keep coming back now and feel so relieved I found a place that I can trust with my hair :)

Best haircut I’ve ever had in New York City. Joe is very talented, takes the time to listen and was able to adapt the style I wanted to suit my face. Took 12 inches off my hair and gave me the most fantastic bob. It looks great styled and air dried, I have received so many compliments. Will 100% be coming back

I travel from Boston to NYC to get my hair done with Abby!!!! That is an overall color with balayage cut shampoo and blow-dry and an all out wonderful day. There is no one in Boston to compare with the quality of professionalism and attention given to you here. As far as the cost... I have paid the same amount at a high street name brand salon in Boston ( ok Vidal Sassoon) and have come out looking like a mess. Furthermore, when I expressed dissatisfaction there ( and it takes great effort and lots of courage for me to complain) I was made to feel idiotic as if I couldn't communicate my desires or appreciate "good" work. I am 62, in the performing arts industry, and have been getting my hair colored for 40 plus years. I know how to communicate with professional hair people. After the uniquely bad experience in Boston, I fled crying to NYC to ARTE Salon and to Abby to be treated kindly and taken seriously. A woman's hair is truly her crown and coming out of a day at the salon one should feel pleased by the result. I have had my hair done for special occasions at ARTE by the other stylists and I think everyone is great. Joseph, the owner, wouldn't tolerate any less. Also, whenever I leave Arte my friends can't stop complementing my color and cut. I highly recommend Arte Salon at 294 Elizabeth Street in NYC for professionalism, quality, artistry, and care. Lovely, lovely people and top-notch, talented hair artists.

Nice salon and nice people but I don’t think the person cutting my hair knows how curly hair works. My cut is very uneven, puffy, and frizzier than before. Went home and cried.

I have been getting my curly hair cut by Inge for over 10 years- Her curly hair cuts are flawless! Love it at Arte!

I never used them due to unreasonable no show policy. I made an appointment over the phone for a Saturday appointment but they put me on a Friday appointment. They charged me an hefty 50% charge for no show and they would not agree to apply the charge to the hair coloring.

Awesome salon! Christine gives the best men’s cuts I’ve ever had. She’s also super knowledgeable about styling and products, and is an all around friendly and awesome person. The salon itself is fancy but welcoming. Everyone in the staff is so friendly. I can’t recommend the salon highly enough!

Great salon! After trying multiple stylists at other salons closer to me, I keep making the trek here because Brittany does my cut and color perfectly every time. I have dark brown hair and it’s so difficult to find someone who gets the color right, thankful I found Brittany! Everyone at the salon is so nice, and it’s beautifully decorated and smells nice. I feel very well taken care of at Arte :)

Beautiful salon! Very clean and the staff was incredible. Came for eyebrows and lash lift and tint. The results were incredible and she did a great job shaping my eyebrows, and will be coming back in 6 weeks. Bonus for great location!

Unbelievably happy with my cut & color from Zach. I feel like a hippie queen! I came in with a couple of photos of Bridget Bardot and Penelope Cruz's bangs and took the leap. I haven't had bangs in 13 years so I was a little spooked, but Zach perfectly pulled off the style I was looking for. I also have to note that I have tons of hair and can't trust just anyone with it. I've had some terrible cuts in the past from stylists who were overwhelmed with my hair and left me with bulky or awkward textures. The average highlight appointment for me is also 5 hours, so I'm not kidding when I say that Zach is an incredible artist!
