First time visit today with Maria. When I messaged online with the owner regarding some hair insecurities she was so kind and understanding. My visit with Maria was fantastic. She met me, spoke with me, listened to my concerns and goals, and she addressed all of it. And with empathy and knowledge. She took her time with me, and consulted with me as she worked. Even her assistant was awesome. This salon goes above and beyond a haircut. It’s refreshing and I’m thrilled to have found this place, and a new go to stylist to boot.

I went to Hannah and as you can see in the pictures, she did a fantastic job. The salon is beautiful, open sunny bright. The owner is very, very nice. I would definitely recommend you to go and see Hannah. She just made my hair look wonderful.

Went in for a deep conditioning treatment and hair cut and left SO HAPPY!!! Hannah did absolutely amazing she explained each step to me and made sure I was loving each part of the appointment. Left with gorgeous healthy hair!!!!

Assembly Salon is WONDERFUL! Emily was able to repair a terrible haircut I came in with - she far exceeded my expectations! I love my hair cut! Clair was excellent with my color! Mara pampered me with shampoo service! You will be happy you went to this team of talented ladies who take their time to make sure their clients are pleased! 5++ star service! This was my first time at Assembly and the whole vibe of the salon is so cute and the staff are all friendly and welcoming. I had a fantastic experience with Nya specifically!! I had grown out heavy blonde balayage and wanted to dye it all back to my natural color (medium, warm toned brown). She was so attentive during the consult, detail-oriented, and explained every step she was doing throughout the process. She eased all of my anxiety from being at a new salon with a new hairdresser, and my hair turned out PERFECT! The cherry on top was how reasonably priced everything was. Thank you Nya!

I got my hair cut a couple times here, (by Mara) and I always appreciate how much I am considered and understood about what I want with my hair and how to keep it healthy. She really knew what she was doing and the best way to go about what I wanted. Mara went beyond the expectation. I felt that I walked away with exactly what I asked for and was more than happy with the results. I also love the photos!!! They are so beautiful and I feel so confident in how I look.

"Assembly (and the Plants)..." It sounds like a rock group, doesn't it? This is a Diamond in the rough, a portal into the most unique styling space in greater Cincinnati. Imagine this...all of your hair fantasies come true. Incredible, talented stylists, a simple, warm and wonderful inviting space, adorned with Emily's ever growing plant collection. Natural beauty. And one magic, very important word that cultivates the experience, setting it apart from every other salon in the city (I've tried many of them). Communication. Relationships. (ok, that's two words, but you get my point) Lasting ones. True team work. I've been getting my hair cut (long layered shag) by Andrea for years. My color is in Emily's hands...but I've also seen Akira. There is not really one stylist I would not trust in this space. Emily fosters education here, regularly holding classes for her stylists, always furthering education in the industry, and learning more about the alchemy of hair. They are friendly, they are fun, curious, and they have zest. They happen to always make it right, too. Always. They care, and they are honest. They care about their art, their craft. And they care that you are happy with your hair. I used to work at ALLURE magazine in the 90's as an editorial assistant. I had great perks, one of them being the accessibilty to some great stylists of that time, in NYC. I've spent time in Frederick Fekkai's chair, and I've been in John Barrett's salon. This is the closest I've come to a parallel experience in any other town I've lived in over the years. Assembly (and the Plants) is hands down the most talented crew, and the most authentic crew around these parts, from A to Z. And I'm a die hard groupie.

I have to say I usually hate my haircuts but I got one here from Mara and it was AMAZING! The staff were all unbelievably nice (and knowledgeable) and I loved the atmosphere as well.

I love Assembly! The atmosphere is so calming with so many beautiful pothos and snake plants! I regularly see Nya. She is super detail oriented, and always blows me away. I will be a forever customer. I truly cannot recommend Assembly enough!

Kami has colored, cut and styled my hair many times. She makes me feel comfortable and confident when I am there. She always listens to what I want and if she doesn’t think it is a good idea she voices that to save your hair! That’s probably my favorite thing about having her as my hair dresser she cares about you and treats you how she would Want to be treated!

A few months ago, one of my daughters successfully had 2 brain surgeries. I have been an immensely satisfied client of Assembly Hair + Beauty Bar for a couple years now – working with both Emily (talented owner) and Claire (talented stylist, employee). Emily and Claire ask about my family before they ever ask, “so what are we doing today?” Every time. When I shared details about the surgery, they immediately asked how they could help. My daughter and I decided to take control of the things we could, and I scheduled an appointment at Assembly for a couple, epic haircuts prior to surgery. Emily and Claire knew she might not join in on the fun due to anxiety, so they let my daughter lead and made the morning fantastic. Words of encouragement written on the mirror. Flowers. Smiles. Music. It was light, and honestly one of the best days I have had as a mom trying to navigate parenthood (let alone parenting through such a heavy time). At first, my daughter said she was not going to shave her head. Once I hopped in the chair and she saw how much fun everyone was having, she boldly said, “LET’S DO THIS!” She grinned and giggled the whole time. Afterwards she looked at me, her dad, her sister and then Claire to say, “I look adorable!” while checking herself out in the mirror. Our daughter continues to heal and she’s thriving thanks in part to our community, which includes Emily and her wonderful business. Feeling confident helps us actually be confident, even through scary times. Aside from exceptional cuts, color and styling, the vibe at Assembly actually makes me feel better every time I visit. Rating Assembly with 5 stars on Google is just not good enough to convey their talent, passion and professionalism; I hope you treat yourself and check this place out!

I absolutely love this salon. Upon entering you are greeted with plentiful natural light from the sky lights, and there are dozens of plants tastefully placed throughout. The stylists are all so kind, and pleasant to chat with. I've been going there for about 3 years now and never had anything less than an amazing experience. I highly recommend going!!

I had a fantastic experience with hair stylist Nya this week! I came here as a new client for a big change, chopping off my long hair. Booking was easy, pricing was very reasonable. Nya was super friendly and made me feel comfortable. Many times I asked if she was me (with zero skill and minimal time to spend on my hair daily) what would she do? And she provided her input which was amazing! And at the end she showed me how with a little more time and minimal skill I could style my hair easily if I wanted to for a fun night out. Awesome experience! Thanks Nya!

I love coming here to get my hair cut! But specifically I love having Angela cut my hair ♥ I've been getting my hair cut with her for such a long time that I can't imagine going to anyone else. She does a great job with my thick, curly hair and she is always so nice and wonderful to be around 😊 This salon is probably my favorite that Angela has ever worked at because of how pretty it is inside, and how nice everyone is. (I especially love the skylights).

I've been a client at Assembly since the very beginning. My favorite aspect of the salon is the consultation provided. They want to make sure that the color treatment or cut done is best suited for your lifestyle so that you're not signing up for something that's unrealistic. They also educate you throughout the appointment, explaining the processes that are being done and the "why" behind them. It makes you feel very confident that you're in good hands. I walk in nowadays with no ideas in mind--I just trust them to guide me to the best hair for me!

I've been seeing Emily for balayage/cuts since 2013 and am still blown away by her results every time. I love how she explains things and the "why" behind the process. I've also had my hair cut by Claire and she knocks it out of the park every time! I would trust any of these gals with my hair

Love love love Assembly Hair and Beauty Bar in Hyde Park ! My husband and I, also our two sons, get our hair cut and styled with Mara O’Rourke and we couldn’t be more pleased ! My husband is very particular with his hair and really appreciates that Mara takes her time and does not rush through his cut. My sons (5 and 7 years old) love the wash and gentle head massage along with their “teenage looking, cute style”. Thank you Mara and Assembly !

If you want beautiful hair that lasts, look no further!!! I am extremely picky about salons/stylists due to a traumatic salon experience many years ago and I can safely say that Assembly is the ONLY place I trust with my hair - yes, I traveled here/saw Emily even when I lived in Seattle AND South Korea. The salon focuses on maintaining the integrity of the hair and stylists are constantly educating themselves to stay up-to-date with the latest techniques. I have been able to maintain a full head of seamlessly-looking blonde hair for 7+ years as a naturally very dark brunette thanks to Emily and the amazing team at Assembly! Everyone here listens and, I promise you, they won’t let you leave the chair disappointed. 10/10 recommend!

The salon atmosphere is very welcoming and relaxing (it’s so clean and green!). The stylists/staff are attentive, knowledgeable and accommodating. When going to a salon, I want the total pampering experience, Assembly delivers! Such a fan of conditioning treatments, it makes a HUGE difference in my hair. I have started subbing my conditioner at home with a hair mask. Everything is top tier, 20/10 rating.
