Real pretty hair studio above Forage plant shop. Very open and airy with tons of natural light and plants. Had a shop pet in the way of a black pug named Creature who loved cuddles. Lots of steps to get up to the studio, not sure if there's an elevator hidden somewhere, but I didn't see one. May not be accessible for everyone, so check before making an appointment. Everyone was very friendly and they offered drinks and snacks. They had pop music playing over the speakers but it didn't feel too loud in there. Nothing was sensory overload. Overall, a really great experience!

This place made me feel super comfortable. Able to do a decent taper dade and I was happy with the service! Super kind workers and great atmosphere. Smells great. Been to both locations and both are just as good

Since my first visit a couple years ago, I have been absolutely in love with Atomic! Not only is the atmosphere comforting and inviting, the ENTIRE staff is so fun, supportive, uplifting and empowering (I'm literally getting emotional typing this lol I seriously love and appreciate them so much). I've been with Gretchen since day one and when I tell you she is the best - She is the BEST! Physically - she took me from my overly box-dyed red with no haircut for almost 3 years to a healthy, gorgeous copper red that I get compliments on daily. Mentally and emotionally - She has become such a cherished friend of mine that has added so much joy to my life. Salon day is my favorite day! I cannot recommend Atomic Germantown enough, I wish I could give more than 5 stars!! Love you guys!

I have an amazing experience everytime I go in here. The staff is always friendly and the stylists are so fun! I recently saw Avery for a highlight and am very impressed. I’m so blonde and it feels great, and as a blonde I’m blondorexic and she gets it! He’s kind and funny and talented! She did an amazing job! Highly recommend 10/10.

Since 2016, I’ve been an Atomic customer, first at the Highlands location and then at the Germantown location when my stylist changed locations. I then moved away from Louisville from 2022-2024 and was happy to return to Atomic. Upon my return to Louisville, I booked a cut & color at the Highlands location. Twenty minutes before the start of my appointment I received a text that the stylist I was to see was running long on the previous client and would only have time for a haircut. They offered another stylist at Germantown an hour later who could complete both services. I accepted the change and at the end of that appointment I rebooked with that stylist for another cut and color 6 weeks out. I arrive today to find out my appointment was booked for a color consultation + haircut and she would only have time to complete the cut. So today I will move on. I’m not sure what is happening at Atomic and will happily take my business elsewhere.

Great atmosphere. It’s very cozy inside with lots of plants and and good music playing. Everyone is knowledgeable and helps each other. They’re all very skilled at their jobs and can get you in and out with an amazing service!

I was super thrilled with stylist Addie Mill's ability to get my hair EXACTLY how I envisioned it, all while having such a positive vibe that made me feel so welcome. I have really long, thick hair that was a dark ashy color and I wanted super bright, all-over blonde. After several disappointing visits to other salons, it was so refreshing to have a stylist listen to what I was requesting and produce such satisfying results. Thankful to have finally found a stylist I can trust to deliver 10/10

A great place to get a great haircut! Cass listened to my hair goals and gave me exactly the cut I wanted that suits me best. So friendly and skilled, immediately putting you at ease. I have recommended him to many friends, and gotten more compliments on my my hair than I ever have before!

By far my favorite salon I’ve ever gone too. I see Cass Roe and he’s made me absolutely fall in love with my hair! I get so many more compliments than I did before and recommend him to everyone. The salon has such a great vibe overall and I always leave feeling refreshed and confident!

Cass does amazing work and every time that I go see him, I leave feeling more confident and receive numerous compliments from others. He does great with both color and cuts and I have never been anywhere else where I can trust someone like I trust him. I can sit in the chair and Cass is able to work his magic and makes my hair look great! I also love the salon here, I don't feel like a number here like I have at other places. The plants are also so pretty and I enjoy being able to relax while I am here as well.

Go to Cass for Cut's and Colors! He does such a great job completely transforming my look every time no matter what I ask for. You can tell he really cares about his clients and giving them the best possible service. I always feel my best and most confident after one of his cuts!

I went here 3-4 times for trims and root color touchups. I eventually noticed hair breakage at the root and let Caitlyn know when I went for my last appointment. The solution was instead of leaving the dye on my roots for 40 minutes she decreased the amount of processing time to 20 minutes. We got the same result in color! My hair felt dry and the highlight color looked a little yellow. I asked Caitlyn about toner and she said no, that I should not put anymore chemicals on my hair. I later went to a more experienced colorist and my hair was put back into shape in just one appointment with no damage resulting. I do not recommend Caitlyn for color.

Karlie has done my hair twice now and I’ve never liked my hair more. She took the time to show me how to style it and recommended new products for me to try. She has completely changed my attitude towards my hair. I actually enjoy doing it now :) I’ll be seeing her as long as I’m in Louisville. Highly recommend Karlie and Atomic.

Mary is incredible! I recently moved to Louisville and was nervous about finding a new hair stylist after seeing the same colorist for almost a decade. I get my hair dyed red, which isn't the easiest shade to do correctly. After hours of scrolling through salon profiles on Instagram, I decided to try out Atomic and made an appointment with Mary. She made my hair color + cut look amazing. She's also a genuinely sweet person and has a relaxing presence. I can't recommend her enough!!

Saw Karlie and got such a cute cut! Very happy with the outcome. The atmosphere is fun and fresh and everyone working there was really nice and engaging. Would highly recommend to anyone in search of a new hair place!

They do a good job with styling, but not good enough to justify their prices ($70 in my case). Also, I got a vibe this place seemed more focused on making money than any other place I’ve been to for a cut. Like the arbitrary price for my length of hair was definitely pushed higher than probably necessary (their prices are on a sliding scale). This is the only place I’ve ever been where twice with different stylists I managed to barely get any hair actually cut (I did not have this issue at their other location). I recently went to someone else and the first thing we discussed was what length of hair I wanted cut and it was made very clear. I get cutting off too much hair is worse, but it feels like this place wants to do it to make you come back more. I don’t like saying any of this because I know friends who like this place, but this is my honest opinion. I didn’t have either of these issues at the other location, but I haven’t been to the other location in a few years. *edit* Owner called me and asked me about my experience, which she was sincere and courteous. I just stand by my opinion.
