I have been going to Austin Haircut Co. on Brodie for many years now and I’ve never had an experience like I did today! Erica cut my hair, and almost right away she was being rude like I didn’t know what I was talking about. I have gotten my hair cut by Jessie, Dinora, Ashley, Mai and Irma and I have never had a problem at all. I tell them the same thing I told Erica and she acted like I was an idiot and didn’t know what I was asking for. We didn’t talk the whole haircut and when I was paying she said she was going to change my preference because what I asked for was not what it was. I simply said I’ve always asked for the same thing from other stylists and never had an issue, and she goes on to say she knows how to do her job. I told her I never said that and she then goes on to tell me not to worry about paying (even though I had already paid and tipped her 20%). The customer before me didn’t seem happy with his haircut either, saying he’s never gotten it cut that short before.

Jesse is my go-to stylist. He knows exactly how to work with my baby fine hair and gives me a perfectly layered bob every time. I always come in feeling frumpy but I leave feeling hip and gorgeous which is how a good haircut is supposed to make you feel!

Jesse was so incredibly patient with cutting my very long hair. He talked with me about the process and approach he would take with cutting off dead ends and adding some layers into my hair. This is my first cut in almost a year and although I was nervous, Jesse did incredible and was wonderful talking me through the process. I highly recommend him and will absolutely be returning!

Edit: I am editing this review because the owner reached out to me and did their best to rectify the issue. I don't know if I will get my haircut here in the future, I at least appreciate them trying to resolve the issue. I went to get my haircut yesterday and after the haircut, my stylist Erica applied gel to my hair. When I got home and cleaned my hair, I noticed the back and the front was cut very unevenly. The front of my hair slopes diagonally and the back has a very thin spot in the middle of my head with the spot above it being much thicker and very uneven. This was my haircut before my wedding and I do not have the time to grow it back out before I get married. More so, I felt the stylist putting gel in my hair was to intentionally hide how uneven the cut was and how bad the haircut is. I have been coming here for a few years, and now I will have to find a different place to get my haircut. This will also cause me to pay for another haircut at a different place right before the wedding. I would advise NOT to come here if you are attempting to get a haircut before an important event.

I have been coming to see Linda at Great Haircuts for about five years now. Linda is a professional and does amazing work. Prior to seeing Linda, I was never able to find good service around Austin and started doing my own haircuts at home. One day I took a chance with Great Haircuts and I’ve never looked back. I have been to this salon since they opened on Slaughter , now on Brodie Linda has cut my hair from buzz cuts to tapers. I have enjoyed her positive attitude and wit. Her artwork is amazing and I feel great stepping out of the store onto the street

I’ve been getting my hair cut by jesse for the past 12 years, and I can confidently say I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my hair. Over the years, he has consistently delivered flawless results, whether I wanted a simple trim, a dramatic change, or advice on what style would suit me best. Jesse, truly understands my hair and personal style. It’s incredible how he remembers all the little details. I never feel rushed, and he always takes the time to make sure every strand is perfect. The team at Austin Haircut Co are all wonderful, especially Linda, who always understands my hair and gives me exactly what I need. She is lovely and will listen to how much (or little) you style your hair and give you the cut that makes it easy to look like you just walked out of the salon every day. Highly recommend!
