AV beauty bar is a very welcoming environment and has a calming atmosphere. I have been going to Kaylee as my stylist since moving back to the Cincinnati area. I have fragile fine hair and she has managed to keep it blonde and healthy at the same time. Kaylee is a sweetheart and makes you feel very comfortable in her chair. She is also very honest and realistic with hair expectations. You will never leave disappointed.

Charlie did a fantastic job styling my hair for a professional photoshoot. I had a picture of what I wanted in my mind and he was able to create a style that absolutely exceeded every expectation!

Charlie is so awesome. He listens to exactly what you want and talks you through the whole process. Highly recommend him for blonde highlights and long cuts. Also an amazing stylist if you just want your hair curled or blown out!

I came to this salon with high hopes and left 4 hours later feeling ripped off. I came into the salon with light blonde hair, naturally dirty blonde roots, and a tiny bit of a pink tint in my hair and asked for a natural dirty blonde color. Before the color process, I talked to him about using a filler to put some pigment in my hair because I knew that dark dye would stick to pigment versus sticking to lightened hair with no pigment. So my hair gets dyed and Charlie said it looked muddy and that he wasn’t pleased with the results. He suggested that we go red with my hair to add some more pigment in to fix it and I agreed. He did a beautiful red color on me but I was still disappointed that we couldn’t go dirty blonde like I asked for. When it was time to checkout, he charged me for both of the colors. In the end, I paid $282 including tip (20%) for what was essentially just one color. He said that we could’ve just done the red in the first place. I should not have to pay to fix my own stylists’ mistake. I also wasted 4 hours of my day trying to get my hair fixed. He has been my stylist on and off for years and is familiar with my hair. My hair is relatively healthy and soft as I have only bleached it twice this whole year. He claims that my compromised hair caused the dye to look muddy. It’s very disappointing and frustrating. I hope this salon can try to accommodate their guests more because the staff/environment was very nice and I would have loved to come back.

I had a great experience with AV Beauty Bar. The owner, Ari, did my make up for our engagement photo shoot. Then Janelle and Shelbie did my hair and make-up for the wedding. All three are talented artists who listened to what I did (and did not) want. During the appointments they regularly checked in with me on my thoughts of how my look was progressing. They would make recommendations, but never pushed anything if I said no. It truly felt like a partnership. Each day I got the perfect look. On the wedding day, my mom and aunt also got their hair/make up done and loved the results. I would highly recommend their services.

I unfortunately utilized AV Beauty Bar for my wedding hair & makeup. I set up my trial over a month in advance due to my busy medical resident schedule. I arrived to my trial, had full makeup done, then was told that the stylist for my hair and salon owner, Ari, was out of town. When I reached out to the coordinator via email, she said "oh I'm sorry that Ari wasn't available for your trial" - as if it was no big deal that I had half my trial completed and I had used my only available afternoon of the month. This was ultimately rescheduled with some work flexibility on my end, but no discount on the trial price was even offered for this. On the wedding day, every one of us that had our hair done required several extra bobby pins placed before we even left the airbnb due to loose pieces, buns drooping, etc. Then largest problem occurred with payment for services on the day of -- my mom picked up the bill while my hair was still being done, and paid whatever she was told. When I attempted to split the tab for my bridesmaids & I the day after our wedding, numbers weren't adding up unless a 50% tip ($500) was given. I requested an itemized receipt to properly split the costs for our group, but unfortunately it has been 2.5 weeks & several emails to the coordinator, with still no resolution. The only information provided thus far is that the $125 deposit does not go towards your final bill, which is a very unusual method & one that should be explained to clients. The lack of communication and transparency with both scheduling trials and paying for services is terrible, and you don't need this stress right before your wedding. I would not recommend this salon to anyone!

I've been rough on my hair the last few years with color and I'm very attached to my length. Charlie was so respectful of keeping my length but being honest about what needed to go. He took his time perfecting my layers while keeping my hair feeling as full as possible. My color came out exactly as I was hoping, I couldn't be more happy with my hair.

On a whim, I booked a dry style with Nikole. We were in the area for a special occasion and I wanted to do something more with my hair. I’m so glad I did! I have short hair and wanted some waves. It was quick and I was so happy with how it turned out. Thank you, Nikole!

I always knew I wanted to work with AV Beauty Bar for my wedding day. They were one of the first vendors I contacted because I knew they booked quickly. The team was so professional and calm and they made my bridesmaids and I look stunning. I appreciated how they worked with my hair texture (I had my natural curls) and my fair skin look radiant all day.

AV Beauty Bar provided bridal services for a few of my friends' and cousins' weddings and so when it was time for me to begin looking at vendors I knew where I wanted to start. I knew I wanted a natural yet glamorous look and AV Beauty Bar delivered! I also knew what kind of hair style I did not want but was not able to articulate precisely what I wanted - Ari was able to understand my vision and created the absolute perfect hairstyle. AV Beauty Bar was so easy to work with and communicated effectively and efficiently - I planned my Cincinnati wedding while living out of town and they were always available to promptly answer my questions and help me plan my day. They have the wedding beauty business down to a perfected science and I highly recommend them! (Also, their salon in Over the Rhine is incredibly cute!).

It’s taken me two months to write this because I wasn’t even sure how to communicate my experience in words. Where do I even start? I loved my previous stylist but scheduling was tough so I was on the hunt for a new one. I’m pretty specific and I know what I like. Whenever I work with any type of artist I make sure I am completely obsessed with their work and have total confidence in their skill so I can fully trust them and let them do their work without worrying. Lexi is THAT gal! I spent the better part of a week scouting stylists and I knew she was it. So I go to AV Beauty and it is the cutest freaking thing! It’s essentially one big room and it makes you instantly feel connected because the waiting area is right there in the action. (I’m an introvert and might be turned off by this somewhere else but it was awesome!) Lexi was so sweet from the first second - offered me a drink, caught the vision from my reference photos right away, and was super upfront about managing my expectations with what we could achieve in one session. (spoiler alert: she definitely under promised and over delivered). Ya’ll, I have a LOT of THICK hair! Like, you have no idea. I typically spend a whole day at the salon and I was there for seven hours and my homegirl, Lexie, did not quit! She was amazing. She wants to make sure it’s complete top quality and she’s put her whole heart into it before you leave her chair. One of my favorite parts was that the other stylists and clients are all in the same space and it was basically one big hang out. Kinda the same charm as an old school barbershop where everyone chats together but with way more style. I left there feeling like I was one of the gang and it was my first time there! Lexi even offered to Doordash me lunch! 😱 My hair looks so bomb and the experience was out of the park. Highly recommend AV Beauty and Lexi!

This place is super cute and right by Washington Park. The staff is so nice and when you get your hair cut and it takes 3 hours, you want to be in a clean, friendly space where you feel comfortable - and this place totally fits the bill. And, I totally love my haircut and the color. They were easy and friendly to work with even though I wasn't quite sure what I wanted. Highly recommend checking it out!

The staff acts as your personal hype girls and take care of you attentively. They are kind, vibrant, and intentional. Their individual creativity and talent is unmatched. They are artists. And they use products that aren’t just good for YOU but are also good for the Earth. Thankful to have this place!

Great Salon!!! Sarah did makeup and Nikole did hair for my wedding party. They traveled to our hotel and did an amazing job! Our hair and makeup were perfect, exactly what we wanted, so natural, and lasted all night! They are both super sweet and very easy to work with. I would recommend them to anyone!!! THANK YOU!

Had my haircut last week by Lexi... She gave me the best haircut I've ever had! I'll never go to another salon or stylist again. The staff is incredible and the salon is well situated in Over the Rhine near my home. She trimmed my beard as well and all for a great price. I have reccomended them to all my friends and would suggest checking them out

Sydney was great! Hired her for makeup for my wedding - I wanted light and airy. I have red hair and freckles and was so afraid heavy makeup wouldn't look normal on me. I wanted to feel myself and with Sydney's makeup application I did. She realized I wasn't sold on the lip color we did at the trial so she brought a few different ones the day of to mix and match and they worked perfectly! She was only there to do my makeup the day of, but was giving all my bridesmaids tips and tricks on different products and applications! Would definitely recommend AV BB!

Ari and Tiffany did hair and makeup for my wedding and hit it out of the park! Everyone looked so glamorous and they were fun to work with throughout the day. Ari’s professionalism was second to none and much appreciated considering a wedding can be so hectic. I would recommend them to anyone looking to feel like their best self - especially on such an important day!
