10/10! i hadn't really been taking care of my hair the past 2 years but i did the bombshell silk press package and it was amazing. very moisturizing and my hair is so light and pretty. Ava was really nice and professional and the environment was so relaxing. the hair steaming was amazing

I made an impromptu appointment at Ava Karl Salon and Karla gave me the best blow out I’ve ever had. She was so gentle with my coily natural hair and gave me great tips to take care of it for health and length retention. Karla and Ava take such fantastic care of their clients, I will definitely be returning!

Relocating back to Philly and the best walking city in the country after a very stressful period in the corrupt state of TX, Karl was a Godsend! Ava was SO nice and talented. My hair was in rough shape as I hadn’t had a trim in years. She treated me and my hair well and gave me a great trim( which really was more of a cut! Bye split ends!) She explained every step and even though I told her I wasn’t scared of losing length she checked in with me before she cut. I appreciate her experience and knowledge and I had a really positive first time experience with her. I will definitely come back to her.

Great experience with a professional staff. Their clientele is diverse and they have specializations ranging from natural hair to barbershop haircuts. Location in Old City is gorgeous and booking a service is quick and easy online. Appointment and call ahead service only!

Ava is the best stylist I’ve ever had—as long as I live in Philly, I don’t see myself going anywhere else to get my hair done. She handles my thick, kinky hair expertly and educates me along the way, answering any questions I have without making me feel bad for asking. It’s not easy finding a curly stylist who is as skilled and knowledgeable as Ava, or who cares as much about clients’ comfort and confidence, and I look forward to seeing her every time.

Incredible experience! I have not gotten my hair done for two years after having a baby and I walked in with hair that was so flat and depressing I was ready to chop it all off! Karla brought my hair back to life and I’m so in love with it and I’m getting so many compliments! Karla was so thorough making sure that she understood what I wanted and then making sure I understood the process to obtain that goal. I always feel like my hair is in good hands when I sit in her chair. I have only ever trusted Karla with my hair for the last decade and I never leave her chair without the biggest smile on my face. Not only does my hair look beautiful again, but it feels so much healthier. I couldn’t be happier with the results! She is really the best I recommend her every time!!! ❤️❤️

Ava & her assistant girly did an amazing job with my unit installation. Girly did my braid down comfortably & quick. Ava did her thing per usual, The entire experience was truly satisfying; the wash, blowout, trim, install and styling. I walked out feeling beautiful and happy. Thank you so much Ava! Ava had done my hair many years ago, and I recently had the pleasure of visiting Ava Karl Salon for a haircut and curl. It was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Ava, the talented stylist, worked her magic and thrilled me with the results. From the moment I walked into the salon, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism. The atmosphere was relaxing, and the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Rushing to get to my appointment on time, I forgot to grab something to eat, but that wasn’t a problem. The salon offers coffee, tea, and snacks for that very reason. Ava made me feel right at home and took the time to listen to my hair concerns and style preferences. I showed her a photo of the style I wanted, and she executed it perfectly. For the first time in a while, I left the salon with a NEW ATTITUDE! Before I left, I made my return appointment. Ava has been my stylist for years. I’ve observed that she is a perfectionist with each of her customers. She listens to you, She asks you step-by-step in any new processes if you a comfortable with it. What I especially love about Ava is your time is your time her attention is only on you and your hair. The facials and hair treatments are amazing too! Ava always offer snacks , hot or cold drinks too! I just Love when it’s my time to return.

Ava is the only stylist I have ever trusted! She has magical hands and skills when it comes to healthy beautiful hair! What she manages to do with my daughters that's near waist length blows my mind. Ava has been styling my hair since 2001. Taught me about healthy hair and she is the ONLY stylist I have ever let touch my daughter's hair. I booked Ava at the Ava Karl Salon after stalking her Instagram page for some time. I finally caved and decided to try a keratin treatment. Ava completed a single process, glaze and keratin smoothing treatment. The service was exceptional. She explained each step and ensured I was comfortable during my service. It was a very relaxing atmosphere. Ava is attentive and provides the luxury experience we all deserve. I’ll be back!

Just had my first haircut with Ava and it was amazing! I have longish curly hair, which is prone to falling flat. Ava did a dry cut, taking her time to ask what I want, explain what she is doing, and check in with me throughout the process. She then washed, conditioned and diffused my hair and made a few recommendations (without pushing anything). She does a mix of Diva and Rezo cut. My curls are now popping and happy!

My favorite salon of all time. Ava did a wonderful job perming my hair , and Karla did amazing giving me a cut afterwards. They were very amazing and nice. Offered me drinks, and snacks while I got my hair done. I’m very satisfied with how my hair looks. First time getting a perm and I love it thanks to them ! 20/10!

This is the best salon in Old City! Karla fixed a botched red dye from another salon, and really helped bring out the definition in my new red hair. I get a ton of compliments on it — someone at Dry Bar told me she thought it was natural until she did my hair and saw my roots!
