I had the best experience here after searching for 9 months for the best hair salon in Virginia Beach. Izzy did my cut and the minute I sat in her chair, I felt like I’d been going there forever. She was incredibly knowledgeable and skilled. The service provided was 10/10. I came in with a botched haircut and she totally salvaged my hair and talked me through the whole process. She is so talented. This will be my new spot.

Can’t say enough good about this place & Izzy. Super grateful to have found a person I trust. Moved out of the area and will travel the distance for the occasion. Accommodation is an understatement. She works with my schedule & puts up with my last-minute appointment requests. Great professionalism and welcoming atmosphere. Izzy is incredibly personable and engaging in conversation, respectful, and proficient. I don’t come in knowledgeable, and she’s always helpful and offering advice on how to best care for my hair. I’ve been going for the past year or so, and right from the start, she was great at communicating with what I wanted and how we could get there (I came in brunette and have been gradually going blonde). You won’t regret booking here!

I walked in with an idea and walked out feeling fabulous! Adam understood exactly what I wanted and the final result was everything I wished for! The environment is well decorated and everyone I encountered was kind and super helpful. I will def be a returning customer! 🫶🏽

I just had to give a shout out to Izzy, she is so fantastic and talented!! I have had many experiences at other salons where I left feeling disappointed in the outcome of my hair. That is not the case with Izzy. She always took such good care of me! I had to move out of the area sadly😭 but if you’re in Virginia Beach, definitely try here! The salon is a great environment, and everyone there always is so sweet and accommodating!

I was able to schedule an appointment quickly and Libby was AMAZING. She tackled my thick hair and gave me exactly what I asked for. Cannot recommend her enough, this place was wonderful!

I had a wonderful experience with Elora Burgess, a premium stylist at Ava Marie Salon of Creatives. At 63, I’ve had trouble finding a hairstyle that works well for my thin hair while still being beautiful. Elora was incredibly sweet, truly listened to my concerns, and treated me with care and professionalism. Not only did she find the right style for me, but she executed it perfectly—I now love my hair! I left the salon feeling respected, well cared for, and like I'd had a red-carpet experience. If you’re looking for a stylist who will make you feel amazing, I highly recommend calling Ava Marie Salon and asking for Elora. She truly has the talent and warmth to make every visit special!

I had told the receptionist before I made the appointment I had very thick hair and she said it wouldn’t be a issue. Summer was very kind but I didn’t get at all what I asked for and the appointment felt rushed. I asked for layers but they were sheared off with the edge of the scissors, not cut in real layers. Hard to explain but I’m not happy with how my hair looks. I walked out with poofy unstyled hair when I paid for a wash, cut and style. As a mom it takes a lot for me to do self care and this was a total fail. Pic is of me and the next is what. I asked for. Also have uneven hair in the front..

I wanted a very simple haircut (take a few inches off and add layers in the front) so I made a last minute appointment thinking what can possibly go wrong. I’ve learned my lesson. The lady who cut my hair turned me away from the mirror mid-haircut, finished cutting my hair, dried it and then told me she struggled with something so she needed help from another professional. I was still facing away from the mirror and haven’t seen myself. While they tried to save what was little left of my hair, it was getting shorter and shorter, and now it is completely ruined. Before and after photos are attached. This was the worst experience I have ever had at a hair salon.

I called Ava Marie Salon on a whim and I was able to get an appointment for that Saturday. I went to the appointment for a cut and highlights. I wasn’t happy with the results at first and called the salon to see if anything could be done. They very graciously apologized and got me in the same week with someone to fix my hair. Cher spent three hours fixing the color on my hair and giving me a cut and color I love! If you’re on the fence, give them a shot. They will do whatever they can to make sure you are happy with your results!

I love to go places that take guest service seriously! It’s evident that the staff at Ava Marie Salon of Creatives have this at the forefront of their operations. I am thoroughly impressed with stylist Izabella Smittle. Unfortunately, I live over six hours away and will not be able to schedule my regular haircare appointments with her. She brings key ingredients for success in her field. Great job, Adam Shipley! Izzy’s creative outlet and guest service are a huge asset to your salon!

After some disappointing experiences at other VB salons, I found Summer at Ava Marie. What a pleasure to find such a talented and personable stylist. With just a few questions she knew exactly how to cut and style my hair. The salon is cheerful and welcoming. I couldn't be happier.

I called here on a random weekday morning asking if they had any availability for a haircut that day. Not only was I able to be fit in, but Summer talked me through what I wanted (her professional advice was exactly what I needed because I was on the fence about a lot and she helped me rationalize some of my decisions) and helped me do a cut that I loved. She did a great job. I've been in the area a few years and hadn't found a place I loved, but I'm definitely going to be coming back here from now on and requesting her from now on. Thank you!!

I first visited this salon after a huge disaster I had while using Arctic Fox this past July. I asked a few different salons for help and Ava Marie was the only one willing to give me a chance and I'm extremely grateful. The stylist I went to was amazing and she was able to help me get my hair back to a more natural color. She isn't there anymore however I have been going to Chere since and she's awesome. I always leave the salon absolutely loving my hair. She's very knowledgeable and actually listens to what you want which doesn't always happen at some salons. Everyone at Ava Marie is always so friendly and makes you feel so comfortable when you're there. I highly recommend this salon.

Went there for an all over color and bleach. Didn’t get what I was expecting for the price I paid for it. Was overcharged for a service I didn’t receive or ask for (was refunded but was still expensive). Hair color fell out as soon as I had my first wash days after the color, don’t think it was permanent dye. My hair went from a deep red to blondish pink. Had to come back a few days later for a redye and it still fell out about two weeks later. Wouldn’t recommend.

I came to Ava Marie Salon and Spa with poorly dyed and damaged hair. I was very nervous about dying my hair again after going to a different salon six months ago asking for blonde highlights. Long story short, I left that salon mostly blonde! Chere not only gave me the most GORGEOUS red balayage I have ever seen, but she also took the time to communicate with me and reassure me every step of the way. She is the nicest stylist I've ever had! I am so thankful for the kind staff at Ava Marie, and I am looking forward to coming back soon. Thank you all again!

I really wanted to love this salon First I loved how the stylist cut my hair but second time, I went for dye and I never had a stylist ruined my shirt and didn't tell me I had to find out when I get home. Very disappointed.
