Description

Avery's Salon is a locally owned hair salon in Colorado Springs, Colorado. We offer services such as cuts, colors, and facial waxing. Avery's Salon was established in 2012, and we greatly appreciate all of the support from our loyal clients. We can't wait to meet you and add you to our list of regulars. We take walk-ins but highly recommend calling to guarantee a spot as we book up quickly.

My mom and I came to this shop for the first time the other and Rachel helped us. Rachel was absolutely amazing, she specializes in curly hair which I can confirm she really knows what she’s doing!!! She explained everything throughout the entire process. My mom and I have different curl types and she made sure to use different products and explain the products and how to style. They’re also so well priced!!! 10/10 I will be making this place my new spot.

I only get my hair cut about once a year and I love coming to Avery's. I've had different stylists and they have all been lovely. Excellent customer service, plus I love supporting local businesses.

My initial experience was not great. I left in tears because my hair was not the way I wanted it. Came back the next day still in tears hoping for a solution. In steps Veronica, saving the day. She fixed my do, getting it closer to what I was hoping for, while also giving me a full refund. She is the perfect example of going above and beyond. I will be back to see Veronica <3

I just got it done last Saturday with Rachel, who I've been to before, the first time I went to her, she did well, she was happy to color my hair and style it with no issues, but this recent visit, I went for a full vivid and not only was the bleach agonizingly painful, to the point where I wanted to cry, but toughed it out because I didn't want anyone to feel bad, but the color is uneven and splotchy, and in some areas, it hardly took at all. I got a cut as well which I was fairly happy with, after all, it's just layers which isn't hard, and my hair is curly so it's hard to make it look bad, but she didn't even bother to blowdry or style my hair at all and still charged me 200 dollars. I don't mind going back to the salon, but I will not be going to Rachel again.

Very disappointed with my hair...the last 3 times that I have went to appointments my hair keeps getting darker. I have been a blonde all of my life. I told Rachel this last appointment that I'm very unhappy the past few times with the color of my hair as I told her the past few times. I figured I was not expressing properly how light I wanted my hair so this time I tell her to color it almost platinum..nope. still brown..she rushed me from the salon that day so i called the next day to let her know that i am very unhappy and we schedule to come back in for a redo..she puts a toner on my hair and told me she used the wrong toner last time...guess what...my hair is still brown! Tired of spending 200 a pop at this salon. Time to move on.

I just tried calling to make an appointment for a cut, wash, and blowout and the lady I spoke with just said “we don’t have anymore openings for this week” too me she seemed to lazy to pull up the schedule and schedule me because I didn’t say it had to be this week just her next available. She said Monday but never gave me any times and didn’t offer to put me on the schedule.

I’ve been to this salon multiple times over the past few years for trims. Recently I had a haircut with Rachel - she was SO kind and easy to talk to! She gave me a wonderful hair cut and blow dry. Their price point is the best in town for such quality service. I’ll definitely be back!!

This is a long over due post. Like it should have been made in February when it happened not in October when I finally felt confident enough to post it. I called and made an appointment with a stylist (asked for someone in particular). When I showed up another stylist had me. There was a mix up in bookings. That’s fine I get it things happen. I asked for black and white hair. Stylist said she could do it. However, she went into the back (which is not completely blocked off) and I heard her talking to another stylist about not thinking she could do it. When she came back she said it might not be the exact same as black and white but she would get it close like black and grey. I agreed to it. I had to bring my special needs kids as plans changed at the last second and I didn’t have someone to watch them. The whole process took 5 hrs. I was already stressed about my kids being there and how I was being treated ( stylist kept going in the back and talking bad about me) that when everything was said and done I just left. My bangs were not cut the way I wanted them cut and they were lopsided. My hair wasn’t even close to being the color I wanted. The color was blocky and not consistent. Stylist essentially kicked me out of the chair and sent me home with unstyled damp hair as she had another client. I ended up calling back and having the original stylist I wanted fix my hair. She did a great job in trying to fix my hair but my hair was ruined. Not only that but the manager was rude and made me pay the second visit (as my hair was so ruined I needed multiple visits to get fixed)! I don’t mind tipping the stylist who fixed my hair but I shouldn’t pay for them to fix my mess up. In hind sight I should have never agreed to go to go with someone that I didn’t book with and I should have done a charge back from my bank. I am now 7ish months from the initial botch of my hair and am STILL trying to fix it. I had to wait to give my hair a break and along with the choppy bangs and choppy hair cut in the back I’ve had to let things grow out. The stylist should have never agreed to do a hair cut she was not comfortable with. Last but not least, when I called to get my hair fixed AND when I was in the chair getting my hair fixed the manager and two other stylists admitted that they knew she screwed up BEFORE I paid and left the first time and knew I’d call and ask for it to be fixed. So they let me pay knowing I’d have an issue and be coming back. That’s shady business right there. I am in part to blame as well since there was so many red flags I ignored which is why I gave two stars. I can’t recommend Avery’s. Manager had an attitude to employees and customers. I also wouldnt be surprised if I get rude feedback or deleted feedback about my review from someone at Avery’s. Rachel had no clue what she was doing. I appreciate Chelsea trying her best to fix Rachel’s screw up but the damage was done.

While I am generally good at reconciling myself with a cut I don't love immediately, I cannot express how disappointed I am after visiting this salon. I was scheduled for a 4:15 appointment with Jewel. When I arrived at 4:05, I was told I was seeing Veronica instead. No big deal, I wasn't established with any particular stylist yet. I showed her exactly what I was looking for, and explained I wanted that style (a long shag cut with layers), but to maintain as much length as possible. Veronica told me that you can't do that cut with long hair because the layers won't blend right and it'll look bad. Ok, I'm not a hair stylist, I appreciate her professional opinion. I ask her to go as long as she can and to add layers. After she starts cutting I decided I was okay with cutting more as long as it looked like the picture I provided. I eventually give Veronica the ok to cut as much as needed to get it to look like the photo I came in. Maybe this is where the communication broke down, I really don't know... when I asked for it, I was assuming that we were still on the same page about going as short AS NEEDED to achieve the photo I provided. I guess that was my mistake. When she was finished, my hair was far shorter than what I had asked for and wasn't really layered the same way either. I tried to like it when I paid and left, but upon seeing it more and more I just began to not enjoy the look of it. To me, it isn't close to what I wanted, doesn't suit my face, and will take a long time to grow out. It barely touches my shoulders and the layers are creating this awkward inverted triangle of hair that thins at the bottom and makes my head look wide. While Veronica did give me an objectively good haircut and was nice, courteous, and professional (why this isn't a 1 star review), I'm just disappointed because the cut isn't what I wanted. It's not because I didn't have enough hair at the start or anything either - I walked in with waist length hair that was all one length. I feel like this might be an issue of miscommunication more than anything. (Photos: First is what I asked for and showed, second is what I got.) Edit: After letting the shock wear off, I can appreciate that I was given a good haircut even if it was not what I was looking for, and cut much shorter than I had expressed wanting. I'm adjusting the star rating accordingly.
