First appointment with Maddy, hair looked exactly the same to my prior hair color, i asked for blonde, my new growth was still visible, still paid full price, scheduled another appointment to get it brightened, owner, Ashley, called day of my second appointment, 3 hours prior to my appointment, telling me Maddy caught the flu & couldn’t work on my hair. rescheduled for the very next day with Allie, & Allie did a great job, made a difference in my hair, my new growth wasn’t visible & overall, looked lighter. I saw Maddy that day during my appointment working on other clients hair, who i was told had the flu. she did not look sick, she did not wear a mask, would not recommend maddy, if you do come here, go to allie, she’s great.

Blair took into consideration everything we had discussed and executed it perfectly all while leaving my hair healthy and shiny. I normally have major anxiety when going to a new stylist and didn’t feel any of that with Blair at any point. Also. She gave me snacks. 10/10 in my books.

Ashley does a phenomenal job with color & extensions! The customer service is also better than any salon I’ve ever been to! I always get compliments on my hair & people ask frequently where I get my hair done- highly recommend this salon!

Ashley is amazing! Have been going here for years! Moved to Florida and still come travel to see her! There's no one like her and the team she has is top notch! Not only are they good at hair but they are all such good people and really care about what the Clients want! Highly recommended Balayage girl! You won't find a better salon than this!

Balayage Girl Salon truly knows color! I have been highlighting my hair for years and feel like I have finally found a salon whose stylists are exceptional at what they do! The owner Ashley is so talented and even takes the time to teach you new ways to get the styles and looks you desire. My daughter also goes to the Salon and sees Blair, who is wonderful as well! If you really want perfect color then I really believe Balayage Girl Salon is the best place in Charlotte to go! You won’t be disappointed!

I can’t say enough amazing things about Shianne and the salon! I moved from another state and was really worried I wouldn’t be able to find someone to do my daughter and I’s hair. We are biracial and have more texture to our hair, so we can’t always find someone who is skilled in doing our hair type. Shianne literally exceeded all expectations and we are a forever customer. The salon itself is trendy and such a fun space to be in. If you’re looking for a salon that provides DIVERSITY (which is soooo important for everyone to feel welcome), this is your place. So thankful for shianne never saying “no” like many salons do and not only did an amazing job, but a better job than we’ve ever had done before!

I went to Balayage Girl for a haircut and Megan was amazing! She really took the time to understand what I wanted. It had been a while since my last haircut so she was honest about how much she thought I need to cut for a healthy refresh and I couldn’t have been happier. I asked for some face framing pieces and they were perfect! The girls there are so friendly and you can tell they all take the time to make sure you leave feeling confident and beautiful. I also got my eyebrows laminated by Chay. It was my first time getting them done and I’m hooked. She did such a good job. I’ll definitely be back!

In response to the owner: Your assistant was the "business partner" I was talking about who you tried to get me to go with instead of you. Yes, I had this service done a year ago but i didn't JUST NOW get upset about it. I'VE BEEN UPSET. I'd been thinking that it has been a year since I got another cut and color and remembered the way this experience made me feel and finally decided to leave a review. what I would give to have not deleted the text chain with you where I had been left on read. You did in fact receive my texts. You responded the first time and left me on delivered twice. you patronize me by asking me if i'm reaching out to the right salon. Typical unprofessional behavior to act like i'm lying about reaching out to you WHEN YOU TOLD ME I COULD IF I WANTED A FOLLOW UP APPOINTMENT FOR BALAYAGE. I spent so much money with you all to be treated like you could care less about choosing to be a customer with your business. just another day in the office. I see what i meant to you as a customer now and I regret choosing this salon. My opinion is that you knew I wasn't satisfied and thought Maggie or whoever your assistant was could touch up my hair better. Maybe you weren't confident with dark brunettes. Or maybe you were busy or the top pick - you really did NOT care. Once again, ill reiterate - I'm DISGUSTED that you would think i'm lying and say i never sent you messages about my hair and that i had spent so much money to be ignored. I was not a valuable customer. Deplorable and a sorry excuse for a professional. It really shows in the final sentence of your response the level of care you have, the sarcasm specifically - might i quote "So sorry that a year later you are upset." Truly...I'm so disappointed in my experience here. Original Review: I came here a year ago and had booked with Ashley. THE FULL PACKAGE. balayage, cut, hair conditioning treatment, and style - about 4 hours worth of time. The service was good. She had an employee tag team my hair with her because it was thick, long, and i'm a dark brunette. I did not like this because if two people are doing your hair the technique is going to be slightly off even if they try their best. I did notice after service that one side was very different from the other and there were much brighter tips on one side. I got the full service however and Ashley had even asked me if i was satisfied and that she didn't want me to leave if i wasn't, however, i did not want to stress my hair even more. i figured i could just make a decision in a few weeks. BEFORE LEAVING, I even bought one of her Italian Kin beauty kits or whatever ANNNNND the top tier hydrofacial. I SPENT A GOB with this business and she claimed i would be one of the last clients she was taking for the year and to text her if i wanted to come back. Well, i did text her and i asked for openings and she responded wanting me to create an appointment with one of her other associates, namely her business partner. I objected and claimed i wanted her and asked for openings further out then a few months AND SHE NEVER RESPONDED. I even sent her a follow-up text. I'm disgusted. I was probably their best client that DAY OR WEEK OR EVEN MONTH POTENTIALLY spent close to $1000 (PLEASE SEE ATTACHED PHOTO FOR MY CREDIT CARD STATEMENT) for her to just leave me like a leaf in the wind. I ALSO TIPPED 25% ON THE HAIRCUT AND 20% ON THE FACIAL MIGHT I GREGARIOUSLY ADD. you could probably check their instagram and scroll back to 9/28/2023 for my haircut if you're curious. I just let my balayage grow out. It wasn't the color i wanted it. It would've taken a couple more bleachings to get it to where I wanted it. In bad lighting taking selfies you couldn't even tell my hair had any kind of highlighting done. WONT BE BACK.

This is the best hair salon experience I’ve ever had. I’m always a bit guarded when it comes to cut my hair but from the beginning I felt super comfortable. The environment in the salon is super welcoming and the aesthetic really helped. I booked an appointment with Ashley and she was very patient and knowledgeable. I told her what I wanted and she asked questions to make sure she gave me a cut that matched my vision. I have long, dark hair and she managed to make it feel lighter while keeping its volume. Ashley was also super helpful in giving me tips to take better care of my hair and taught me how to style it. At the end my hair looked exactly how I wanted it. I recommend Balayage Girl Salon without any restrictions!

“Disappointing Cut, Professional but Lacking Skill” I wasn’t Going to write a review, but, I Feel that I have a responsibility to warn others. The hair cut was so awful I went to a nearby salon a few days later and paid $1200 for hair extensions to fill in the gaps. Not to mention the $100 haircut that Balayge girl charged me. A serious robbery. I had high expectations for this salon, given its professional appearance and friendly staff, but unfortunately, my experience was far from what I hoped for. The stylist who cut my hair was very confident, which initially gave me some reassurance. However, as the cut progressed, it became clear that she was more excited than skilled. What was supposed to be “butterfly haircut” turned into something that resembled a mullet. The layers were uneven, and the shape was completely off. While the salon itself is lovely and the staff are all very polite, it’s clear that not all of the stylists have the experience or expertise you’d expect from a professional salon. I won’t be coming back for a haircut here again. From now on, I will be traveling back home to New York Every time I’m in need of a haircut. Maddie on the other hand is wonderful at color, Especially for blondes. I would like to leave a 5 star review for Maddy but google is not letting me.

Always a great service. I love Maggie! She does amazing work and diligent on making her clients happy. She also provides honest feedback if I’m debating a look or style. It’s really hard to find someone who does a great job with dark hair colors but Maggie always hits the nail with application and color. Blair also gives an amazing blowout!! Blair is so kind and professional. All of the staff at Balayge girl are really great!! The salon itself is so cute, inviting and always so clean.

Ashley is who I have been searching for since relocating from NYC back in 2018. Her natural, balayage, hand painted approach is genius. She fully understands what tone and color is needed to achieve 15+ weeks until my next appointment. The growth and evolution I experience with her color happens naturally, as though I’m in the sunshine. Exactly what I’ve been searching for after 4 different failed salon attempts in the Charlotte and Cornelius area. She also dry cuts my long hair and gives it that texture I prefer. Doesn’t try to push her preference but really listens to yours. She likes pictures at your consult, yet shows you a variety of images herself, to best determine your ultimate goal. She’s THAT good. You may THINK you want X when you really want Y because Ashley knows hair, knows color and knows how to uncover that from you. She comes with years of training, including time in NY and has built just the best salon for balayage clients. So thankful to have found her - she’s a really fantastic, kind person too - surprised me with flowers on my birthday hair appointment. 💕

I moved to Charlotte two years ago and trying to find a hair salon is always one of the harder things in a new city. After reading reviews and scrolling instagram I decided to give Maddy a try and I’m so happy that I did. Not only does she achieve my exact hair vision but she is the kindest person I have ever met.

Blaire did absolutely amazing. I came in with traditional highlights and grown out roots. I told her that my main concern was how harshly my roots had been growing in. She did an amazing job making sure that everything blended together so that the grow out would be less harsh. Not to mention, she was so sweet and kind and made sure that I was comfortable while I was visiting the salon! Run, don’t walk to the Balayage Girl and book your appointment with Blaire!!

Recently I got my hair done by Allie, she hit the nail on the head, I am absolutely head over heels in love with my hair. I’ve never loved my hair more and I’ve been getting my hair done for a long long time. She is thorough, genuine and amazing at her job. I couldn’t recommend her enough!!!

on my first appt with Allie, i came in with the most awful blonde i’ve ever had in my life (botched by a different salon).. when i tell you she completely saved my hair (see before and after pics) i am not kidding. not only did she achieve the blonde that i wanted, she did so without worsening the damage from the previous salon. that is pure talent. she’s such a sweetheart, meticulous, and patient with me when i have to take work calls in the middle of foil application.. a true gem, she’s seriously the best! thank you allie!!

The power went out today but, Allie was still willing to do my hair given we had everything we needed to do it except an operable hair dryer. She was incredibly personable, sweet, and obviously cares about her work. I’m so happy with the way my hair turned out! Thank you Allie!

After today, I felt like I had to redo my review from years ago. Maggie has been my stylist for years! Unfortunately, our schedules weren’t lining up well during Christmas time so I regrettably booked with another stylist at a different salon. BIG MISTAKE. I was left with very blocky black streaks and very cool color blonde. It looked terrible. Today I gave Maggie quite a project and I did not have much expectations for her to be able to fix it because it was so bad. When I tell you Maggie is a magician hair wizard it’s an understatement. I hated my hair for months and now I cannot stop looking at it. She completely transformed my hair from blocky to absolutely gorgeous. Obsessed barely does the description justice. If you are looking for a new salon and stylist go see Maggie at Balayage Girl salon. You will not be disappointed. And huge shout out to Ashley’s husband (the owner), Jared for getting me in with a days notice due to a cancellation. Superb customer service. I’ve been going to Ashley’s Salon from the very beginning and I have watched her transform from a loft to a huge, beautiful and successful salon! Love, A very satisfied customer with great hair

I took my daughter in to Balayage Girl Salon to have her red hair colored blonde and Shianne was her stylist. It is an understatement to say Shianne is a gifted stylist. Her hair is stunning and Shianne now has 4 new lifetime customers. I would recommend Balayage Girl to everyone!! I really can't gush enough, Shianne is amazing!! So I needed to update this review as I took another to see Shianne, my second oldest daughter whom hasn't had her hair cut in years. Her hair is super thick and flows down her back to her waist. She didn't want much hair taken off but it desperately needed to be shaped up. Shianne is not only good when it comes to coloring hair, she's superb when it comes to cutting and styling. Another daughter was overjoyed with her results and I couldn't be happier. Repeat customers for life 😊.

I used to have beautiful thick luscious hair, then it all fell out after cancer treatments as a child, when my hair grew back, my hair was very fine and brittle. My entire life I have been trying revitalize my hair hoping for some miracle it can go back to what it was before. Balayage girl literally changed my life! After getting hand tied extensions it feels like my hair is closer to what it was before. It gave me a huge boost in confidence. Also the staff is so much fun, the atmosphere is great it feels like I’m hanging out with my gal pals. The snacks and sodas are nice too!

When I came I asked Ashley weather she could do a certain style of haircut as it was shown on the picture I showed her. I wanted a standard modern short haircut, nothing extravagant or fancy in any way. She assured me that she could do it and started. However, she stopped in the middle and refuse to continue without explaining a reason. Perhaps, she realized that she was going to fail to delivery a good result or some spontaneous change in her attitude happened. I did not understand what happened. She did not bother to explain either. I had never had case like this in the past and was completely shocked and speechless. Eventually, I ended up leaving with a half haircut done and wasted time and money looking for another salon. Nice fact is that Ashley did not hesitate to charge full amount for that lousy unfinished hair cut and even did not try to apologize anyhow. Fortunately, I found a OK salon where the true professional could finish whatever Ashley did to my head for a half of Ashley's inflated price. To sum up, this is overrated and overpriced salon that does not have a true skilled professional that has any idea about what customer service is about.

I went in for a sew-in by Dream, and it was a fantastic experience. My hair is very fragile, and Dream ensured she washed and braided my hair gently. She made me feel comfortable even with my insecurities. I will most definitely be back to see Dream.

Hands down great experience from beginning to end. Maggie and Blair hooked my hair UP! They are professional and fun. We talked and laughed ,nearly in tears ! I’m so grateful for them and how open and honest they are. As a WOC , they listened and made sure perfect my color and were brave . We are still in progress but so far it’s great. They are hard working and full of life. I am looking forward to my next appt! Thank you ladies !!! I definitely Recommend scheduling a visit . I’m sure any of the stylists there are just as great!

This group of women is the best!! I’ve been seeing Megan for over a year and she is amazing. She helped me achieve the perfect color for my wedding and now helping me keep it looking amazing with low upkeep! I have the best time in the salon!! I also would trust anyone in the salon to do my hair and love a good hydra facial from them!
