The massage itself and the masseuse were both great, in fact one of the better massages I've had in a while. BUT they put me in a room with another guest with only a thin curtain between us (he was probably less than 5 feet away from me). I could hear every sniffle, pump of the lotion, every step the other masseuse took and their entire conversation for the whole hour. I couldn't focus on my massage at all. My masseuse left the room and told me to change back into my clothes and then the other masseuse left the room a minute after, so i was left alone in the room with a random man while i was naked. He could have easily looked past the curtain or something much worse. I could also hear a video playing on someone's phone from one of the neighboring rooms. Overall, an awful experience and wouldn't go back unless this was changed.

Great massage therapist! Julie is a hidden gem. I always have tension in my trapezius and went to many therapists who kept telling me to relax my shoulder and I couldn't. Julie helped me ease the shoulder pain. Coincidentally, I also slept wrong the previous night and woke up with neck pain. I didn't even need to tell her, she just massaged me and knew it right away! Highly recommend.

I had the most wonderful experience at Bamboo Spa today. I’m a little upset I haven’t found this place sooner! I had a gel manicure with Amy, and regular pedicure with Sarah. I appreciate that this salon offers cruelty free gel, which I haven’t found elsewhere in the city. They offer Londontown gel nail polish, which independent vegan and cruelty free review blog Ethical Elephant confirmed is a cruelty free brand and offers many vegan options, though not all of their products are vegan. I’ve had 3 gel nail polishes at a few other salons in SF over the last year, and this is by far the best one I’ve had - beautiful, no large gaps between polish and cuticle, no pain or cuts, shaping is excellent, and the entire appointment was efficiently accomplished in 1 hour without feeling rushed (I did have both services done at once, which might not always be a guarantee if they’re busier). I went on a Saturday afternoon and enjoyed missing the morning rush. Now I’ll just wait and see how well it lasts! Thank you so much Amy and Sarah for a wonderful service.

Love this salon. Miles ahead of the competition for mani/pedis and general customer service. Custom facial was lovely, too. Will certainly be returning.

Took my gf here for a pedicure. Bobo did a great job on her nails. Amy was very friendly at the front desk. She made us both tea even though I just sat there waiting. But she made me feel very comfortable and wanting to return to get a pedicure for myself. It’s slightly underground but with plenty of light and has a real cool vibe and energy. Also the lighting is warm and cozy. Love this place.

I go here at least monthly and would love if they added to their gel color collection and added some fun glitters. They only had 1 silver glitter during the holidays and then they pulled it from the shelf. I understand they are a natural salon but that doesn't mean that they can't have fun options for nails. I am thinking of bringing in my own gel colors, but then whats the point of paying full price?

Bad experience, would strongly recommend avoiding. While the place looks pretty and has a great menu of services, so many things were wrong about the experience. 1) The pedicure lady poured burning hot green tea on my feet and instead of apologizing for the accident, kept ON blaming me for not “paying attention to where my feet is in the bowl”. 2) I went for a relaxing experience but literally could not relax because the manicure and pedicure staff kept talking non-stop in asian language. I requested them twice to keep the voice low and not talk at my head, but no acknowledgement whatsoever - and within few mins they would just start talking loudly among themselves again (while working on my nails!) 3) Even though we booked one of their most expensive manicures, the service time was much shorter than they advertised on their website. They literally just rubbed one cream before applying nail paint and that’s it. 4) Despite all of this, at the end even the lady who burned me and was arguing with me non stop came running (literally!) - insisting on a 20% tip. Overall a waste of money, and not relaxing at all.

Wow. Jessica was the first massage therapist in several years that could truly give me a deep tissue. She put so much work into my poor injured shoulders and I will be able to go the next few weeks without being in so much pain. Will definitely be back!!! Highly highly recommend this spa!!

Hands down the best deep tissue massage I’ve ever received! I was in town visiting family and my husband and I were gearing up to get on our flight back to Cleveland. With one day left to galavant around the city my husband surprised me with a massage at Bamboo Spa before our flight later that evening. I would 1000/10 recommend ending a vacation with a massage and this place is great at what they do!

I have only received a facial from Bamboo Spa, but it was so phenomenal that I had to leave a review. The esthetician from Kazakhstan is one of the most beautiful individuals I have ever encountered! She is genuinely so patient, kind, meek, and intelligent. Her aura, in addition to her skills, made the facial heavenly! Unfortunately, I forgot her name at this time, but I will call the spa to find out! I will certainly be back.

It's a hit and miss for me. Massage services are great, but communication around nail services needs to improve. Way too many rules to follow to get what you pay for. Also no matte nail polishes for men? A bit sexist in my opinion. Not the experience that worth $80. Will be coming back tho, hopefully my feedback will help them improve.

First time here. Somewhat disappointed. Not sure if I will come back. Recommendation to owner: invest in comfortable chairs. The technician was great and I certainly appreciate her effort of doing beautiful nails. Staff courteous. Clean space. However the chair was quite uncomfortable, had to sit in a very awkward position. my calf started to cramp and was afraid to move because I did not want to ruin the nails. The technician did offer to massage my leg but I declined. I felt bad to make her do extra work because of the chairs.

This place is nothing short of amazing. My masseur has provided the best deep tissue massage. He knows pressure points and how to release all the stresses in my body. Just thinking about it makes me want it again. I've only been here a couple of times and I'll sure be back. I'm glad they had the January special which let me try the place out. The facilities are clean and place is very relaxing. It's not cheap at all but it's hard to put a price to giving one's self a much deserved relaxing massage!

Wow!! I called her the night before I needed 4 appts for a Friday! They said OK! When we got there we switch some things around- No Problem! The location is so relaxing, no cell phones, no fumes, just relaxing! The service was great and everything was easy! Thank you!

The best massage I have ever received! Deep tissue massage with oil, perfect amount of pressure. My massage practitioner was very aware of individual unique musuclar and connective tissue anatomy and had excellent communication for how deep to go. She was so kind. They provide complementary organic green tea from Japan. I will definitely be coming back!
