The salon was friendly and communicative about the extra cost to achieve volume with my fine hair (I requested a blowout, but they changed the service to ‘special occasion’ due to the extra time required) I was fine with this extra charge, but I wish the stylist told me that in order to add volume to my fine hair, that she would have to tease my roots relentlessly (also adding texturizing powder and lots of hair spray) As a result, my hair felt extremely stiff and my entire scalp felt like a huge knot when I pressed on it. It took SO long to brush my hair out after the event, and still feels damaged. My ends felt dry, looked dull, and were easily tangled due to so much product. I’m not an expert with hair styling, so I just wish she would have warned me about the tangles and texture my hair would have in order to get volume. I would have chosen a different style that was more easily achievable with having fine hair. I had to use a brush on my hair throughout the night so it looked presentable and not knotted everywhere. Overall, not happy with how my hair turned out, but they were nice at the salon.

I want to gate keep this salon so bad! But I can’t. Joe was amazing. I haven’t had a hair cut in two years (yikes!) and he made my hair look so full and healthy. He was also so nice and made my social anxiety pretty much disappear! I can’t wait to go back.

ABSOLUTE BEST SALON IN CHICAGO! Very talented staff/clean salon/ and reasonably priced! Eli Mancha is the absolute best 💯 (owner and master stylist) I highly recommend this salon 👍

I love this salon! The entire staff is welcoming, and are keen to the details. I’ve been offered a beverage and for my coat to be taken every time I’m there. My hairdresser is Sky, and they do an amazing job. They listened to all my wants and needs, and really brought my hair vision to life. My follow up visit for a bang trim was fast and easy. Prices are not unreasonable for wicker park. The products offered in the store are affordable, and match priced to online (atleast the ones I got) The rewards system is nice too. :) 10/10 would recommend this salon, and 100/10 I recommend sky!!

An amazing experience at this salon. I was looking for a salon in Chicago since moving here and have finally found my place. Eli gave me one of the best haircuts I’ve ever had in my life. His precision and attention to the details is unmatched. I usually get very few haircuts because I keep my hair long but I might come in more often because I am just so happy with how my hair looks and feels. Front desk and person who washed my hair were also pleasant and amazing. Merci !

I recently went in for a partial highlight and cut. I had very long hair and wanted a couple inches off, Joe did good with my highlights and the pre-cut but when it came to do the finishing cut it seemed he cut off anything that was tangled. Which led to my hair being much shorter than I had wanted. Also the layers ended up being very choppy and I had to fix that myself once I got home. Disappointing for how expensive it was.

I didn’t enjoy my experience here. I came in for a regular haircut, but the stylist told me I needed a specialty curly haircut due to my hair texture. I was okay with that at first, thinking it would be a more tailored, premium cut. Instead, the stylist didn’t really analyze my curl pattern or offer any recommendations based on my hair texture. He trimmed only the outer layers of my hair and styled it his own way without asking for my input. Now afterwards my hairstyle looks uneven. When I asked to take more off the sides, he said ‘we didn’t have time.’ For $80-90, I expected better. It felt like I was just upcharged for having curly hair, which seemed unfair, if not discriminatory. I’ll be going to a regular barbershop next time.

My appointment was with Sky. I got a cut and kinda ombre. They were very attentive and double checked a lot it being our first appointment. Which I appreciate as I’ve had a lot of miscommunications in the past; and was honestly extremely anxious beforehand. There were a lot of check ins a long the way about the coloring and cut. As an aside… I also really appreciated Sky taking the time to show other stylists or trainees (not sure the title!) what was being done or “quizzing” at various stages since I came in with virgin hair for part (and prob asked for something outdated lol). I think mentorship and teaching others what we know is a huge gift to people. I’ve been the beneficiary so I’m always impressed when people take their time and effort to do so. I think it says a lot about a person. I’ve been to quite a few different salons in Chicago over the years and I’m always trying to find someone that I can have a continued relationship with so they know what I’m asking for. I felt confident in making a follow up with Sky after my appointment, which has been a first. So I’m very grateful for that.

Caitlyn was awesome! She cut my teen son's hair and styled it in a creative way that he loves. The whole experience from booking the appointment online to check out was perfect. Everyone is so nice and welcoming - people of all ages were getting great cuts and color. The salon is fun and beautiful, too. We'll be back!

I had a wonderful experience here! Michelle did an amazing job and was so patient with me. It was my first time dying my hair so I was so nervous but she was so incredible and I’m very happy with the results! She is so talented! I also had a super thorough consultation with Emily and she did a great job answering all my questions! The assistant Daphne is also awesome! Overall a great experience and I definitely recommend! :)
