I didn’t catch the name of the person who helped me and a buddy when we visited, but the customer service was seriously a 10/10. Me managed to mess up our reservation and they accommodated us and made it super enjoyable. The facility is incredible and the steam room is one of the best I’ve ever used. The cold plunge is arctic and so healing. Will be back for sure. Excellent spot.

It’s great, I love it. But two hours is too short.

What a wonderful experience! Came here for the first time today and it was everything I hoped for. The bathhouse has a hot tub, a salt water mini pool, a cold plunge tub, a steam room, a dry sauna that goes over 200° AND two showers: cold and hot. Not to mention their spa services! They offer massages, scrubs and facials. I got a scrub and coupled that with the bath pass. It was wonderful! The customer service was great too. The crowd passed the vibe check too: welcoming, warm and mindful. Will definitely be back!

I don’t understand why people keep complaining about the noise—it's clearly mentioned on the website that this is a communal space and. The whole vibe here is about building a community centered around the physical and mental benefits of cold plunge and sauna culture. The cold plunge is cold, and the sauna is hot—that’s the point! You meet some of the nicest, most welcoming people, even if you come alone. It’s such a safe, fun environment, and you leave feeling incredible -and very clean too.

Used to be a great spa. Probably still is if you're willing to go through the convoluted and clunky booking process. The password and account set up makes you go in an infinite loop. UX is important if youre going to ask folks to go through a process just for day use.

A bit crowded

I always try to go to banya at least once anytime I'm in Seattle. The facilities are always clean and I've never had a bad experience. The sauna alone is worth it!

So friendly and relaxing! Love the casual social spa vibe

Talky, loud clientele. Otherwise nice facilities and good service. I enjoy calm and quiet spas, but that was not the vibe here. The main pool room is like an echo chamber. Even the towel bin lid closing makes a loud "bang" sound. Clientele smacking their towels, laughing, etc. Would have liked some relaxing music, but they had some kind of chill rock in the background instead. Come when it's empty (not Friday evenings) for a better experience. Reasonable price with street parking nearby.

Definitely worth the price. Great value. Great place to just hang and relax for an hour if visiting Seatle.

I’ve been here twice now and both times were thoroughly enjoyable. It’s a relatively small space, but you have to schedule your 2hr session ahead of time which ensures it is never too crowded. I love the eucalyptus plants/aroma in the steam room and the tea which is available upstairs. I also love that the cold plunge is kept at the same temperature as the Puget Sound :) friendly staff and clean facility

This place gave me the ick. You can smell the mustiness of the facility as soon as you walk in. I came here to relax but this place was absolutely gross. The locker room is tiny it felt too crowded even with just 3 people changing at once. With one bench and two showers in one small stall. The provided soap smells like glue. Literally the YMCA pool feels more “luxurious” and peaceful than this. The hot tub was not hot nor did the jets work. The bath area was 1 room with 3 small tubs that could probably fit max 3-4 people at a time. They also over book the place so be ready to not have space to enjoy yourself. The steam room had too much eucaplyptus oil to the point it burned our lungs and eyes to be there for more than a couple minutes. My partners asthma started to flare up here. There’s also hair and other gross things floating in the water. The guests there are loud and obnoxious, they scream and laugh like hyenas as if they are at a local pool on 4th of July. This is not good spa etiquette. I complained to the spa about the noise and was asked to wear earplugs. I have been to many spas and they enforce good spa etiquette just to be mindful of others experiences and talk in a low tone if needed. The staff was ridiculous and kept insisting that my partners email was not his email, this subject was not serious enough to make it an issue in my opinion. The massage was good the lady did not provide the deep news of the massage that was requested but it was good regardless. Will not be returning. We ended up spending most of our time in the tea room waiting for the massage because it was unbearable being in the bath area.

Great space & super relaxing. Cold plunge & hot tub small so if busy might have some wait to go to the area you would like. Lots of space on the second floor to relax and lounge with a great cup of tea. Highly recommend!

For the price this place charges, not worth it. Very old facility. Also not maintained amazing. Friendly staff on site but don’t really seem to be cleaning. Has everything you need and does the job but not worth the price for the quality you’re paying for at all, especially in the city. Expect a more luxury experience for the price.

Great experience. Went once… that was enough. Probably wouldn’t go back again. But it was great.

I love this place! The hydrotherapy room is my favorite in Seattle. 2 hour entry to a hot tub, sauna, steam room, cold plunge. It’s a got a whole circuit and the cold plunge is actually cold

There are so many wrong things about this place. Firstly, the changing room looked so run down and it had no privacy to change your clothes. The shower area has two shower heads that are not separated by a curtain so enjoy your shower with no privacy. And the spa area… is just very run down and old. The hot tub barely fits in two people. Not to mention the male body hair and debris floating around. I know that they’re not a quiet spa, but the amount of noise makes it impossible to relax. There were way too many men in a tub so as a woman it feels weird to get in as the tubs are tiny. The only thing I liked was the cold plunge. In general, I went to Banya5 to relax but came out very frustrated

An inner city paradise. World class facilities. This is the best sauna I've found in the Seattle area. The sauna is cracking hot & dry - proper banya. The plunge pool is icy cold and deep - allowing a great cool down. Edit 3; back today. Cracking still. Got a peak at the temperatures 240f/114c in the banya and 44f/4.5c in the cold plunge. Amazing. EDIT: back again, all the above stands. Best there is.

The only reason I'm not giving all 5 stars is because, being totally co-ed, Banya 5 requires swimsuits in all areas of the spa. But other than the lack of clothing-free spaces, this is a fantastic experience. I did not receive a service and am not a spa member, so I only paid the spa fee. I was visiting from out of town and I thoroughly enjoyed my 2 hours at Banya 5. 2 hours seemed like a short time to me at first, but the banya is small and 2 hours was plenty of time to get the most out of all the facilities I was interested in using, including the tea room. The facilities were clean, the atmosphere pleasant, and because the spa limits the number of entries at any given time, it did not feel crowded. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. My favorite aspects were probably the eucalyptus in the steam room and the cold plunge pool. I will definitely go back any time I am in Seattle.
