I recently had a very disappointing experience at this massage clinic. Despite informing the masseuse of my multiple sclerosis (MS) diagnosis and explicitly requesting that no massage techniques be performed on my head, my instructions were ignored. The masseuse performed a karate chop on my head with substantial pressure, which caused significant distress and exacerbated my symptoms. I spent $307 for this session, which was completely unjustified given the aftermath and the blatant disregard for my explicit request. When I reached out to the clinic for a refund, they dismissed my concerns, claiming that no spa could guarantee satisfaction and remain in business. This response completely ignores the fact that my issue was not about general dissatisfaction but about their negligence and failure to follow explicit medical instructions. Their lack of professionalism and empathy is shocking. As a professional in the photography business, I know that client satisfaction is paramount. Ignoring a client's explicit instructions, especially when related to a medical condition, is unacceptable. Their excuse is absurd and insulting, and their refusal to take responsibility is deeply frustrating. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone, especially those with specific health needs. In response to them now This was not a misunderstanding—it was negligence. I informed your staff about my MS diagnosis and explicitly instructed them not to perform any head-related techniques. Instead, my instructions were ignored, causing physical distress and worsening my symptoms. After what happened, I should not have paid at all. Your refusal to acknowledge your wrongdoing or issue a refund for the $307 I paid is unacceptable. I deserved better care, accountability, and a full refund for the harm caused.

Will come back again and again! Banyan tree was super accommodating with my schedule and was able to fit me in. I’ve been here a few times and every experience has been positive. Today I had Gina as a masseuse and she did an incredible job. Maybe the best Thai combination massage I’ve ever had.

Always an amazing massage. I have come here a number of times and I usually get the signature combination massage which is a combination of deep issue and traditional Thai massage. This time I had Freya. She was terrific (as it has been with others as well).

I was happy with my combination treatment but they ran 30 minutes late which made me need to cut my treatment short to be able to leave in time to get my daughter. My treatment felt good and the space was clean and comfortable

Lovely hidden spa amongst the chaos of Penn Station. Excellent massage - I got the signature combination (Thai + deep tissue). Note - they don’t give you pajamas like some Thai massage places do.

Solidly okay. I stepped in here mostly for the a/c and a nap. I think they specialize in Thai massage and I’m the dummy that chose deep tissue instead. My masseuse seemed more expert with her forearms and body weight than with her hands. Btw, I’ve been to many Thai massages in Thailand and it’s just not a modality I prefer. The space was lovely, I got a whole room with walls and a door so my $150+ went towards that I guess. I won’t return but if you’re into Thai massage I think they were actually Thai (!).

A friend and I were visiting NYC and decided to make a massage appointment last minute. Banyan was able to accommodate us within a couple of hours. The establishment was clean and staff were extremely friendly! The massage itself was a 10/10 and I would definitely go back when visiting since I’m there often. Highly recommend!

My experience at the Banyan Tree Thai Spa was really rejuvenating. As if the therapist's hands have magical abilities, my uneasiness dissipated. The Swedish massage and the peaceful environment made for an unforgettable experience. The next time I come, I will be much obliged.

They advertised a free massage giveaway on Instagram. The rules to enter were simple, tag a friend and subscribe to their email address. The caption said they would draw a random winner on 5/10. I planned to visit the spot soon so I figured I may as well enter the raffle. I entered on 5/8. On 5/9 I decided to look at the comments to see what my odds of winning were and I was shocked to see them say to someone “ you are this months winner”. I was surprised because #1 it wasn’t 5/10 yet and #2 there wasn’t an official announcement of the winner. I shrugged it off and was like ok whatever but I decided to click on the pages of the few of us that entered just out of curiosity. The winner had 12K followers and most of us that entered were less than 2K. I wasn’t mad about not winning the raffle because I planned to book a massage anyways but the whole ordeal made me feel like there was never a legit raffle. I think it was a ploy to attract influencers which is fine but don’t advertise a raffle and secretly choose a winner one day before the deadline.

Won my massage from an instagram giveaway for full disclosure. Staff were all very friendly. Never had a Thai massage before and was so pleasantly surprised. A nice mixture of stretching with massaging. Felt so relaxed! And my masseuse was so lovely, checking in with me to make sure the pressure was right for me and that I was comfortable. Will be back for sure and definitely booking my wife a massage here.

Excellent neighborhood massage spot — clean, calming and chill. Staffed with quality therapists who use a mix of Thai and deep tissue, and who actually listen to you and work on your problem areas. Prices are reasonable considering that the quality is better than most other places around the neighborhood. Could not recommend enough.
