On Sept 2023 I visited your salon. Brittany was my stylist. The experience I had left me extremely dissatisfied. During my initial appointment, the stylist I was assigned to spent over 3 hours on my hair. Despite showing her a photo for reference, the results were far from what I had anticipated. My hair appeared unnaturally dark and gray with patchy areas. It washed me out and looked as though it hadn't been professionally cared for in months. In an attempt to rectify the situation, I returned to your salon for a follow-up appointment on Oct 3 at 4pm. (Big mistake) Brittany was an hour and a half late for our appointment with no apology and an argumentative and unprofessional attitude. (Why I stayed, I have NO IDEA) This resulted in additional costs for me as I had to pay a sitter to look after my three children during this time. The appointment continued until 9:30 pm, a considerable inconvenience for me. Unfortunately, despite the extended duration, it became clear that she did not know how to remedy the situation. That is when I met David, after the rest of the staff and clientele had left. He had to instruct her. It was a nightmare. I asked for a refund and was told to come back so that David could fix it personally. My hair was already beyond damaged and breaking off. It is now Feb 2025 and I am still dealing with the damage that was done. It is appalling.

Went in for Keratin treatment. Actually a Brazilian Blowout which is Keratin +. Did not work really. Back of hair curls up. Came back after a few days and they tried to spot treat it to their credit. White male been doing this for 3 decades. My stylist moved to Vegas. Consistent with comments here after poor reviews, the blame seemed to fall too quickly on the customer..... "You need a relaxer not Keratin (Blowout)" was first comment. 1) My prior experience says Keratin works. 2) If Keratin too weak at Barrons- then why do it and charge me $300? Why not stop and request relaxer from the start? Had it last month. Just cut the curls off. $300 on the floor at a family hair cut place- $320 on the floor. Nice people. Cool vibes. But disappointing as a customer... 12.31.24 UPDATE- the response below from Kimberly is odd. First, never talked to her or know her. Second, nobody offered the cost of Keratin treatment to straightener.

***To Kimberly Barron, Salon Manager: I left my review which is how my service went. What was going to be fixed?? I wrote a detailed review of what happened and my experience with your staff. I don't live in Atlanta so nothing can be done to remedy the situation. I wouldn't come back because I would not want to endure another haircut like I received and surely wouldn't do it if I was on a schedule that I was told could be met long before I even made the appointment and after. You have the issue spelled out in this detailed review. This is what happened. You were aware of the situation by what I wrote. Your husband actually was at the salon the day I was there and across from the stylist. I want to update my review I left after leaving my appointment and having time to look over the cut. When I called to make the appointment & before purchasing the Groupon, I told them I had an event at the Zoo to do at 3:15 pm. Could I make it in time with an appointment they gave me at 1:30. "No problem." then purchased my Groupon after the first call. I even arrived at 1 pm (which I confirmed by telephone when I arrived in Atlanta after receiving a 1:30 confirmation email) so "highlights can go ahead and be started" (told on second call to salon. Told again that it would be fine.) I arrived promptly at 1 pm. Kept waiting for at least 10-15 minutes for stylist to come and get me. He was very nice and listened to what I wanted. I told him when I have my hair short it is done as a famous person (he knew who I was talking about) which is a layered short cut. I opted to go with a shorter haircut with an emphasis on not cutting out my ears and leaving it long enough around them to tuck behind my ears which is the look I prefer. He did a good job adding lowlights to my existing highlights. The issue came even before I left. I kept watching the time discreetly and I was getting close to 2:45 and haircut wasn't complete. Sprayed on two hair products (which you don't do on fine hair because it weighs it down) which really did nothing except give my hair no lift and laid flat. Finished and I need to take off the smock and go since it was 3 pm. Changing out of my smock, I noticed that the left side had no layers and was laying flat. I came out and looked for the stylist to get him to cut in some quick layers and couldn't find him. Used the restroom, came out and looked again and still couldn't find him. It was 3:00 and I had to leave. There was no way I was going to be at the Zoo by my appointment. Sadly I didn't make it (arrived at 3:40 pm) and people were waiting on me to do the activity. I had to apologize for them setting up something especially for me that I didn't get there in time even after I asked multiple times before purchasing the Groupon if I would and was promised I would. That night I examined my cut more closely in the mirror. I tried (probably miserably) to cut in some layers on the left side. I then looked at the back and my hairline was an uneven mess. I used scissors to level the line out and shaved my neck. He used an electric razor somehow at the end of the cut and I just assumed he was cleaning up my neck. He didn't. I arrived back home (I was visting Atlanta) and washed my hair and using a light mousse, thankfully was able to style my hair to look more how I wanted it. (Don't put alot of product on fine hair. It just weighs it down and makes it heavy with too much product.) I also realized I did not get a "conditioning treatment" as was part of the Groupon. I did tip the stylist VERY WELL which I honestly now regret given the problems I had missing my Zoo appointment (which he may not have been told about) and the multiple issues with the cut.

He is a true artist, collaborating with you on what you tell him you want, while using his expertise to give you what you need. I couldn’t be happier with the way he highlighted my hair, listening to comments I made about preferring a natural look. He cut my bangs and gave me face framing layers that are so precise and clean. David is a master at his craft and I’ll be coming to him indefinitely!

If your ethnicity is anything other than white, don’t let yourself serviced by Theresa. I am bi-racial and came in to get my highlights changed from a highlight job at another salon to a lighter color and since I wanted to have someone who knew what they were doing in terms of highlights this time I asked for a level 3 or 4 stylist. Theresa was making negative denotation towards me the entire time, making me feel extremely devalued and when we were at the point where an assistant blew dried my hair and I stated that there was no change in color from when I walked in she first claimed that there absolutely was, when I asked for the color palette to proof to her that there wasn’t, she then went off on me saying “ that’s it, I am done. I am getting the manager” when she returned she said “I did the best I could, shouting at me “your hair looks 10 times better than when you walked in” when in fact there was no change other than some highlights looking less chunky but no change in color whatsoever. Not only was Theresa very racist iwith the remarks she made to me “your hair is so dark” (my hair is dark brown), “you’re dark so I thought you were Hispanic”, etc.The manager then offered for them to fix it and luckily, David the owner fixed my hair to my satisfaction, but the straightening part with a hair straightener wasn’t really done and that this will have to be done by someone next time because I am used to not just blow drying but also flat ironing my hair before I walk out of a salon. However, if it wasn’t for David, the owner fixing my highlights I would never return to this salon.and based on this experience with Theresa this would have been a 1 star review.

Fantastic experience at this salon! From the parking, to check in, to washing the hair everything is very professional and nice. The entire salon has a very glamorous and elegant vibe. However the best part is of course the owner and stylist, David, who is absolutely amazing and a true master. He understood right away what I was telling him about my hair and the type of cut I wanted. When I pointed out the challenges I have styling this cut at home, he did not tell me things like "well this is just the way your hair grows" or "this is just how it is" - stuff I heard countless times from other stylists. Instead he explained to me why this was happening and how he would fix it by doing the haircut a certain way. I will be honest, I was skeptical, but he was absolutely true to his word. The bob haircut he did for me was perfection! Imagine my amazement when I washed the hair at home for the first time after the haircut and it just retained the same beautiful precise shape as at the salon! There were no kinks, no weird waves flipping out this way or that way. I could not believe it! I have had variations of a bob haircut for years, and heard so much nonsense from other stylists about how this haircut is too difficult, how it is not for my hair etc etc. Well, that's because they did not know what they were doing. David is the best hairstylist I have ever had, he is truly on a different level and I am so glad we have him right here in Atlanta.

I recently had an incredibly disappointing experience with this salon. Upon calling to schedule my appointment, I was informed that I would be charged extra if I had "extra thick hair." Charging extra for thick hair is discriminatory. Many people, particularly those of African descent, naturally have thicker hair. This policy unfairly targets and discriminates against Black customers and others with thick hair textures. It is appalling to me that in this day and age, such discriminatory practices are still in place. I urge potential customers to think twice before engaging with this salon. There are plenty of reputable establishments that value customer satisfaction and equality. Don’t waste your time or money here. MY RESPONSE TO DAVID'S RESPONSE IS AS FOLLOWS: David, Your response is disappointing and further underscores my initial concerns. While you claim to welcome all customers and uphold policies similar to other salons, charging extra for thick hair inherently discriminates against individuals with certain genetic traits, particularly those of African descent. This practice perpetuates inequality and is unacceptable. The argument that other salons have similar policies does not justify discriminatory practices. History is filled with instances where "other people do it" was used to excuse unfair treatment. Ethical businesses should strive to lead by example, not hide behind industry norms that perpetuate discrimination. I interrupted because I was emotional about the unfairness of this discrimination. The response, as you failed to note, was to hang up on me. Instead of addressing my concerns respectfully, your staff was dismissive, which only compounded my frustration. Furthermore, the comment about legal action was not a "threat" but rather an intended action that you would be advised to prepare for. If you truly value equality and superior customer service, I urge you to reconsider policies that unfairly target customers based on genetic predispositions. Transparent and fair pricing should be a standard practice, not an exception.

I've been coming to David for cut & low maintenance color for many months, but I finally told him I wanted to go platinum blonde for the first time in my life and he was up for it. The only reason I was ready to make this drastic change was because I trusted David to help me do it and do it well, and boy did he deliver. The process took all day, and David and the rest of the salon staff kept me comfortable throughout. The result is amazing and I'm so happy I took the jump, trusting in David to make sure it was perfect!

David greeted me with a smile on his face and a wonderful sense of humor, so I immediately relaxed and felt very comfortable. The staff were all very nice and welcoming. After discussing the many bad cuts I have had and what I was wanting, David immediately had a plan for my hair. I have fine hair and all too often in the past, stylists just fall short of giving me a cut that gives me volume and movement while preserving length. David accomplished this with his depth of knowledge and made it look so easy! I went home for the first time in many years thrilled with my haircut! Thank you soooo very much! I most certainly will be back.

My first 3 words when i saw my wife after getting a cut, Balayage, color correction, and blowout... were F*^kg <expletive LOVE it! I made the appointment for her as a surprise. Praying the color would turn out. I was hoping she would be satisfied. Not only was she satisfied... that evening, when she would pass a mirror, she would have to stop and say, "Oh my God, I can't believe how amazing I look!" NASTY people run this place! When I called to make sure they would accept a groupon They were nice and TOLD me to buy a groupon- then they pulled a bait and switch a week later- the night before my appointment- saying they would not honor the groupon after all. There was no apology, no resolution offered, they took no responsibility for their own mistake. They claimed it was their employees error but expected the customer to suffer for THEIR mistake and they were very unkind in how they spoke to me which of course made me upset right back at them. I would have never bought the groupon if they had not told me to when they scheduled me. And now I'm out the money. Robin the manager is extremely rude, has NO kindness or communication skills and quite literally DOES NOT CARE about public relations. Good luck getting new clients- I will continue to warn as many others online and here in Buckhead neighborhood to STAY AWAY from this business if you want to be treated professionally - if anything goes wrong THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU ,THEY ARE NOT A GOOD BUSINESS!

Teresa at Barron’s has been doing my teen son and my hair for a while now and we are lucky to have found her. For my son, we needed a teen boy haircut, not the bowl cut that most salons interpreted each time I showed a picture or explained the style we were looking for. I had a seamless and amazing beginning to end first encounter with the salon. From the receptionist to the owner to the hair colorist. I am blond and came in to get rid off my brassy parts. I was greeted by owner and he directed me to Josephine. We talked and I felt comfortable with her knowledge. An hr and a half later I walked out with my hair being so perfect, better than I had even hoped. I feel very comfortable recommending this clean, chic, relaxed salon to anyone who wants fabulous hair!!!

I called thinking they’d maybe honor the Groupon price but secretary said no because I’m not a previous customer of 2023. It’s sad because I could have been a reoccurring customer but really disappointed that they would not honor the price. I would have liked try them again which is why I called.
