I cannot recommend this place enough! Eileen gave me the best balayage of my life and Jamie gave me the best haircut of my life. They're my dream hair team - worth every penny! They listened carefully to what I wanted and recommended modifications based on my hair color, lifestyle, etc.

My favorite hair blowout ever! I'm visiting SF from NYC for an educational video shoot, and I needed to do something with my hair that would last several days. Carissa is such a star. She listened intently about what I was going for and made a great recommendation of what we should do with my hair. Not only did she give me my favorite blowout in my lifetime, she took the time to tell me how to care for it so it would last several days. Highly recommend Barrow and Carissa!

I have followed Michelle (salon owner) coast to coast for the best haircuts a gal can ever have! She never disappoints! Be aware, Barrow Salon is addicting if you appreciate great talent!

I would give Myles 6 stars if I could. I came in with a haircut I was not happy with and he listened to my vision and took the time to ask questions about my hair to make the haircut I wanted work for me. He is so great at working with individual hair types to create something I’m truly so happy with. He is so good with unique and alternative styles- I came in with bowl cut bangs and left with the wolf cut of my dreams. I’m leaving with godlike layers and looking like Patti Smith. Beyond the haircut, chatting in the chair with him was a genuinely fun experience. 10/10 would recommend.

Amazing hair cut! Totally worth it. I am a lazy low maintenance gal, so don’t do any daily styling. They cut it JUST right such that it looks nice everyday. Love it. 🥰

Jackie was amazing and provided me the exact haircut I described without even showing her any reference photos. She was personable, kind, professional, and easy going. This was my first time at this salon and can be intimidating but the staff were all so friendly and accommodating. The salon is also aesthetically pleasing and I had such a relaxing experience.

This is now my go to place for hair! Dakota is a freaking hair coloring magician! I came to her with a balayage that had too many highlights and not a true natural look. I can't tell you exactly what she did (she did a lot) but I am SOOOO much happier with my hair. She really took the time to ask me what I liked and didn't like about my current hair, what the ultimate goals was, looked at pictures I had found and took the time to make sure I was happy with what she thought was best before proceeding. OH, and they offer coffee, tea and water while you're there which was such a wonderful addition to the services. Not only that but the music is kickin' and whole studio is absolutely beautiful. :) Update from 7/9/22 and 9/10/22: I have since been to David Tolls for a haircut and Dakota again for another color session and still amazed at the skill from them both. Dakota made my hair look even better since the last time I saw her and David was recommended to me by a long term client of his. I would highly recommend them both to anyone looking in the Bay Area.

I had the most amazing experience at Barrow Salon! David Tolls is a genius! My hair was a mess when I came in and David worked his magic and made me feel so confident with my hair. The salon is gorgeous (surround views of the Bay Area and sf skyline) and they offer free champagne! This place is magical, definitely give it a shot if you are in the Bay Area.

I just wanted to let you know that you made me feel really uncomfortable this afternoon during my color consult. And it was already intimidating enough to have three white women stare me down in a salon while you comb out my textured hair and question me as if I was some kind of criminal. I felt you thought I was dirtying your pristine salon. You proceeded to make my hair a giant frizzy mess and then said you didn’t want to do my hair. Next time don’t touch people’s hair if you aren’t going to help them. Or offer to help fix it. Also, if I’m willing to pay you for a service the least you can do is treat me with respect not like a second class citizen for asking you to do your job.

I’ve been to Barrow a few times now and I have to say Michelle gives the best haircuts I’ve ever had in San Francisco. The new location has a very cool industrial vibe and there’s a bar, brewery and restaurants nearby.
