I had Melissa do my highlights/cut and it was beyond amazing!! From the moment I sat down the experience was top notch. She listened to my needs and made a great plan for my future appointments. So glad I found my go to spot in Chicago. Can’t wait to visit base salon again! This salon is so much fun, you can tell the staff actually enjoys working there!

I’ve never been one to stick to a hair routine and often went months between hair cuts and never colored or used products. I colored my hair for the first time ever here with Krysta (the owner) and Logan and they’ve both made my experience amazing. I’m now using maintenance products thanks to their consultations and have a hair routine plus do not wait 8 plus months for hair cuts. if you need a new salon to call home, do not hesitate. It will be worth it.

Great service and super knowledgeable on hair. I had Melissa color my hair. Melissa was really helpful in deciding on what to do with my hair and listened to the converns I had regarding my hair. I addition she was great at figuring out to do parts of mu hair and explaining oh what her plan was. She did an amazing job during the whole process. It felt like talking to friend while she did my hair. Also, JP who helped a bit in this long process of coloring was amazing at making sure I was comfortable. Really will be returning every time I have a crazy idea for my hair.

Melissa!!!! She worked magic on my hair. I get sooo many grays that she made me feel and look like I never looked before. She got rid of all of my grays and made me the blonde goddess I wanted to be!!! Go and book her!!!!!

I recently had the pleasure of getting a haircut and balayage from Melissa, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the results! She took the time to listen to what I wanted and gave me great recommendations for my hair type. The haircut is so flattering, and the balayage came out beautifully—natural, sun-kissed, and perfectly blended. Melissa is not only talented but also super friendly and professional. AMAZING!!! Danielle was the best! Most perfect hair cut I have ever had. She did better then i was able to ask for. For the first time in forever I was able to style my hair after a cut and have it turn out with out hours of extra work. The products they use made my hair so soft. And i got my first blow out ever, I never realized how great my hair would look. She was also super sweet and personable. The girl at the front (Logan i think i feel terrible i have forgotten her name) was also the best as well. The while experience was well worth it!

Highly recommend JP! I came in for a haircut having just a general idea for long layers, and he gave great suggestions on what best suits my hair. With wavy hair, it can be tough to find someone who understands how to cut the layers, but he did an amazing job and love how it turned out!

I had such a great first experience at Base Salon with Danielle! The salon is super cute and comfortable and I couldn’t recommend Danielle more. I came in for the first time with an inspiration picture and she absolutely nailed it! Have never been so happy with my hair results. She also gave me a fabulous hair cut and was so sweet and personable the whole time. Can’t wait to keeping seeing her!!

I felt compelled to share my experience at Base Salon because it truly exceeded my expectations! I was a last-minute walk-in, but Tara and the entire team made me feel like their first client of the day. Despite it being the end of the day, they took their time, ensuring I didn’t feel rushed and that I got the hairstyle I was hoping for. The process was quick, thanks to their incredible skills and attention to detail. Tara asked insightful follow-up questions to ensure she understood exactly what I wanted. I left feeling wowed by the result. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend Base Salon!

I haven't had my blonde hair dyed in years and I was SO nervous, but Danielle made me feel at so at ease! She listened to exactly what I wanted and gave me suggestions based on her expertise (and she was spot on)! My hair turned out so amazing, and it's never looked so healthy and natural. I always get nervous it's going to look obviously dyed, and you'd think this was my virgin, untouched hair! Can't rave enough :)

I made an appointment and then had a work conflict, so I used the online platform to move my appointment to avoid fee. Their online system didn't work properly and didn't alert me, so I was charged $340 for a no show (& called repeatedly during the executive business meeting). I explained the situation and they ignored me, I showed the email I got to access my account for the change, and they ignored me. I'm a new client, this is horrific and I fear they're desperate for my $340?

I am obsessed with Emma! I just moved to this neighborhood and was looking for a salon I can rely on. She was so patient with me and really made sure I felt comfortable about the current before she started. She talked me through how to blow dry my hair and use the product she tried on me. 10/10 recommend and cannot wait to visit again in a few months!

I went to base salon for a bleach/tone and showed a picture of what I wanted. I am not super familiar with all of the terminology, but I have been getting my hair dyed blonde for 7 years now and felt like the stylist understood what I was going for. I will start by saying that my stylist was wonderful - very kind, attentive to detail, and respectful. Unfortunately, once my hair dried after I got home, I saw that my hair turned out much less blonde than I was hoping/expecting, and instead appears quite "striped" like I got heavy highlights. I was not upset at the stylist because I know these things are hard to predict. However, I did reach out to the owner to explain my situation and requested to be charged the price of full highlights ($264) instead of a custom color ($350). This was the most I have ever spent to get my hair bleach/toned ($430 after tip) and it was the least blonde it has ever turned out. I figured an $85 dollar refund was reasonable and I would happily be a returning customer. The owner absolutely refused. She said she has evidence "on camera" of me agreeing to the highlighted, striped hair look that I received, which is absolutely not true. I asked to see this "camera" evidence and she never responded. The owner in general was extremely immature and unprofessional, and she soured my entire experience at this salon. Take your money elsewhere!! For one, they are recording you without your knowledge/consent, and for two, the good reviews on here are because they offer free products if you leave a good review.

I saw Daniella a few months back and she significantly fixed my hair!! Going to a new stylist is always a bit scary, but she took the time to walk me through everything she was doing. She really understood what I was wanting with my hair and was so welcoming to where I felt comfortable the entire appointment. The products she recommended to me actually work so well on my hair, but she never pushed me to buy them! I cannot recommend her enough, she saved my hair!

I had the best experience with Danielle! I came in with multiple shades of color, completely damaged and bleached hair. After my visit at Base Salon I will never trust anyone else with my hair! Danielle not only made my hair look INCREDIBLE, she made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire service! Best experience I've had and best results! 🙌🏻🤩

I went to Base Salon while in Chicago for a wedding this last weekend. I have really bad social anxiety so going somewhere new is always a but if a challenge for me. First, I was able to get an appointment the day before, their rules include giving a CC when you make an appointment, and they were kind enough when I called from the airport to put me in a slot until I got to my hotel and could give them the rest of the info. It was a beautiful blowout with a hydrating conditioning I asked for and it looked amazing and I was confident and happy for the wedding I was attending. Kenzie my stylist was beyond amazing. She was kind and we had such a great conversation and it meant a lot to me. The vibes of the salon was awesome (plus it was really close to a coffee place for my fiance to wait). When I return to Chicago I will definitely be coming back, and I want to thank them for making me less anxious and looking great!!

I had my first appointment with Emma! I’ve been looking for a new go-to and I’ve found my match!! Not only was she so sweet, she listened to exactly what I wanted. She also mentioned what treatments would be helpful for my hair and told me the price before proceeding so I was not shocked at checkout (which sadly is rare). She truly took her time and I could tell she genuinely cared. Overall 12/10 experience and I will be back!!

Just moved to Chicago and SO happy Base was recommended to me! I went to Emma for a root touch up and glaze. She did an amazing job color matching, was so attentive to detail, and explained every product she used. Also gave an amazing head massage when doing my shampoo and conditioner. Already scheduled my next appointment with her! So so happy with my results.

Danielle has been my stylist the last few times I've visited Base and she's done a great job with my hair every time. On my last visit she went above and beyond to ensure I was content with my hair, making me feel comfortable throughout the process. Incredible experience with Danielle!! After years of bleaching and DIY color treating my hair, I wanted to reach a place where I could let my natural hair grow in. Danielle was super honest and straightforward with me about what my hair could handle right now, worked with me to understand what my hair goals were, and shared ways I could be taking better care of it in the meantime. After our conversation I wasn’t expecting a huge change in my hair, but I was blown away by the results. Not only is the color GORGEOUS but my hair *feels* healthier. Really impressed and grateful and excited to go back!
