I've been coming here for years. I don't know what happened on my last visit, but I came out with the left and right sides looking like two different haircuts. One side is a full inch or more longer than the other, and overall it's several inches shorter than what I asked for. None of the normal details seem attended to. It looks and feels like a rush job. It's just a terrible cut and I do not feel I can ask them to fix it. I've always been super happy with the cut and color here, but I'm so upset with this one that I won't return.

Great haircut. Great ambiance. I am a regular customer and delighted that I found a stylist who can cut thick, bushy hair into a lovely and manageable look.

Been going to Lauren here for 2 years now. She has helped me manage my waves and understand my hair, and after many years of fairly basic cuts at different places I've realized how handy it is to establish a relationship with a hair care specialist who understands what works for you and what doesn't. I'm irregular going to her due to my schedule, laziness, etc, but she's patient with me and manages to clean up the mess each time I'm there. Beyond the great cuts, Lauren has also given me neat-up trims between cuts, recommended products that have made a difference and most astonishingly she somehow remembers details of my life I blabber about despite handling 100s of loyal clients. Hell she remembers things about me I don't remember telling her about. One time when Lauren was out of town, I went to another stylist here, who was just as careful and exhaustive with my hair care, and recommended a scalp massage tool for my dry scalp, and I've noticed improvements ever since I started using it!

I love this place! The location is great, the ambience is spa like, and the staff is exquisite. They make getting your hair cut a joy and everyone is welcomed warmly.

Lauren Fergus at Bateau has become my go-to hairstylist after getting me through the most chaotic hair period of my life. Early quarantine: I bleach my hair THREE TIMES with box stuff from Safeway out of sheer boredom. It's a frizzy, crispy mess. Then I put blue on top of it so it's a blue frizzy crispy mess. Several months later, I try to cover the blue using a medium-brown box dye from Safeway...which turned it a terrible deep sea green. I reach out to Lauren with this story and thus began our nearly year-long journey together. She did everything possible - research, Olaplex treatments, glosses, consulting other stylists - to keep my hair as healthy and normal-looking as possible until it grew out enough. Then she gave me the cutest haircut I've ever had - shoulder length, no more frizzy crispy blue. 5 stars!

I do not recommend the service here if you are a guy and need a medium~short haircut. I received one of the most horrible haircuts I can remember and had to pay $115. I'm an asian guy with medium length hair. The website says that gent hair is $75 but I had to pay $115 and I asked why and the lady at the counter said everyone is different. They don't seem to like using a clipper and I had to tell EXACTLY how I wanted my haircut and I had to constantly check my hair style/length and tell her how I exactly wanted the cut. I know this is my first haircut here but it shouldn't be this complex and take close to an hour.

Polite staff, they’re following all covid protocols. Their hair products also worked very well for my hair. My stylist also carefully heard out my regular hair care routine so she could pick the right products for me.

Nicola is a master. Love how every cut looks good no matter how long I wait between cuts. Quarantine has left me with few options for haircuts and honestly my hair is still looking great! Don't trust anyone else with my cuts

This place is the best! I primarily get my hair cut by Nicola -- she really did change my whole relationship with my hair! I've been going to her for 7 years now, and she's amazing. I also really trust all the other staff there, as well. I've had various services (cuts, color, keratin) from other folks, and they're all amazing. They listen, do really amazing work, and are just nice to be around. I think they work really well as a team, and that really shows in the environment they create in the salon. I think you'll love your hair after going here!

Loved my haircut with April!!! She took the time to listen to what I was going after and did exactly what I had in mind. My curls now happily form the waves without any styling products, which I know is a sure sign of a haircut done right! Five stars all around, plus on top of tea and water they offered wine! 🍷

Whole salon is great but i recommend talking to Lauren Fergus! She really takes her time to talk with you and asks the right questions so that you get a hair cut you love! I've never left disappointed!
