I booked a consult with stylist Vee in December and I was notified an hour before that she needed to reschedule which was fine because I lived nearby. On the rescheduled date I show up and Vee was not there. The receptionist was pleasant but after 10 minutes of waiting I was notified the stylist would not make it and the receptionist did my consult. This made no sense as the receptionist was not a stylist. This was unprofessional on the stylist’s part. A waste of my time and deposit money.

Had and Appt the beginning of Sept my first time there stylist was V she is professional explains what's going on with your hair shows you pic you can choose from different styles i had my hair colored came out awesome getting so many compliments Place is super clean her Receptionist Monica was very pleasant the first person you see and talk to let's you know if it's worth staying or not I would refer anyone with natural hair to vist Beautiful Freedom Natural Hair Salon

I went here last minute & it was well worth it. The hospitality & the welcoming atmosphere was great. This was the best hair wash I've had & my locs look great. She did such a great job I'll be driving 1.5 hours again.

I've been coming to this business for loc maintenance for 3 years never had an issue quite like this . 2 canceled appointments within the same week with no explanation or minimal to no comunication . This is beyond unprofessional . Im a regular customer to be treated like this ,is crazy . I will not be returning to this establishment or making another appointment . Asking for a refund from my deposit but we'll see how that goes . Drove all the way there for the establishment to be closed. SMH .

Stylist Vee was very rude and unprofessional, she was on her phone most of my appointment and on Instagram live, not to mention she was almost an hour late for my appointment! The staff has very nasty attitudes and talk about vulgar and personal things in front of customers. Stylist Vee was gosspiomthe entire time. I will NOT be returning

I love love this place! The black Queens here were very nice to me and very good vibes. However i did wake up the next day with a bit of bleeding from the back of my Scalp, i think it was dud to how Rough the lady was washing my hair. Nevertheless this is still a top tier place and i will be coming back!

I visited the salon today and overall it was a positive experience... initially. The stylists were kind and personable. However, the reason I’m giving this salon 3 stars is because of an issue with what I was charged. Before I arrived (on multiple occasions) and even WHILE I was waiting to be serviced, I looked at their website to see how much a freedom style & trim were which should have been $70 in total. When I checked out I was told my total was $80 though. I got home and decided to figure out where the discrepancy was and noticed that the price for the freedom style had suddenly changed from $50 to $60. I’d hate to accuse Stylist Ve of being sneaky and changing the price directly before checking me out but that’s how it seems. I did speak with her afterward over the phone & she said that the salon just increased their price on October 1st and my browser must not have refreshed. Although possible, I’m still very unsure about this because I checked SEVERAL times after October 1st and before being serviced. Stylist Ve offered me a $10 credit to remedy the situation. However, this rubbed me the wrong way overall and for that reason, Beautiful Freedom has lost a future *consistent* customer.

It’s a nice salon and I planned on being a regular customer until Stylist Vee changed the price on the freedom style literally right as I went to pay for my service (before listed as $50, I even checked during my appointment). My service was supposed to be $70 but I was charged $80 and I felt like that was very sneaky and conniving. She would have gotten $80 anyway from my tip but instead she lost out on a would-have-been consistent customer. I can’t return to a place that treats their customers like that. It doesn’t pay to be sneaky miss. 🤷🏿‍♀️

On December 22, 2021 Beautiful Freedom Natural Hair Salon was authorized by me a deposit for a hair appointment scheduled for January 17, 2022. Following, this appointment was canceled by the owner of the salon. I never received a refund for this deposit. I scheduled another appointment for a later date/time , and paid another deposit scheduled for January 26, 2022. During this transaction, I was not able to use BOTH of deposits toward my service. After speaking with the owner she explained that she was not able to give me a refund or credit my original deposit toward my service, even though my appointment was CANCELED/rescheduled to a time/date that which did not work for me( the owner did not consult with me first) by the owner. The owner suggested that I would have to make another appointment in order to receive the credit. I continued to inquire about a refund. During this conversation, the owner became very sarcastic and in my opinion was not apologetic. of course, I do not want to schedule another appointment, as I am extremely dissatisfied with my service, and the lack of professionalism. If the owner cancels an appointment that you booked, you should be entitled to an automatic refund. When this does not happen, one can argue that this is called stealing. I am not calling the owner a thief, and I am writing this honest review in efforts to make others aware of the unfair policies that do not have the consumer's best interest.

Beautiful experience as a man to walk in a what you may believe a female environment. The queens in there are phenomenal and very professional when it comes to their job and your needs. I couldn’t have possibly experienced a better place to handle business and may i include I absolutely love the work I received (starter Locs) certainly will be using them as long as possible! I highly recommend this company for your beautician needs. 5 stars all the way around the board.

From the first second I walked in I was greeted by all stylists and the Owner. All were so professional! Even during Covid-19 everyone had a mask on including clients. The atmosphere was professional and so friendly. I was given a consultation and I was immediately taken care of. 0 wait! I can't wait to go back !!

I’m from Dallas, TX but now living in Philly and let me tell you Ve is the real deal. I’ve been working as a traveling therapist so I’ve had to endure a lot of other not so great stylists across the states when working different jobs. I fell in love with Ve the very first time she did my hair and now I’ve been seeing her for a little under a year. I will never leave Philly as long as Ve will keep seeing me. I’m tender headed and a 4c natural. Ve met me for the first time and started with a consult asking me what my goals were for my hair, what products I currently used, and how I felt about my hair. My hair was in rough shape when I started seeing her but now it’s healthy, hydrated, not shedding nearly as much, and growing. She looks at more than just your hair as we talk about lifestyle, stress, nutrition and how it all plays a part in your hair journey. Ve has such a fun personality and creates a welcoming environment in her salon where you can relax and feel comfortable talking about any and everything! And she’s into more than just haircare, she’s got good recommendations on food, makeup, fashion, and services for makeup and lashes. She is an expert in locs and natural hair care and gives great advice for types of products to use in your hair, creating a regimen, and even helping you come up with creative styles. She is gentle when washing, combing and styling and has no problems with you asking questions along the way. And let me tell you those hands when she’s massaging my scalp are EVERYTHING! Ve will educate you but also keep it real with you which I appreciate so much. Ve has learned that if she doesn’t make me book my next appointment before leaving her salon she won’t see me for at least 3-6 months. So she has held me accountable by putting me on a 2 week schedule and making sure I book my next appointment before I leave so that I can reach the goals I have set for my hair. She knows what my hair needs and is awesome at providing those services and helping me to do what I need to once I leave the salon.
