My go to hair salon since I moved to Brooklyn. Prices are reasonable and they do a great job every time. I got my sew-in (installed elsewhere) washed and styled here and they did amazing, my scalp and head feels great days after. I also get wash and sets on my natural hair here. Recommend this place to everyone.

Wonderful experience at BDS, I did a balayage and the result was amazing. 😍😍 The girls are very nice and attentive. I would definitely recommend this salon to anyone looking for professional and high-quality hair services!

Been going here for a while & never had any problems until this recent visit. I went in for a regular wash & set blowout plus cut ends which ended up coming up to $90 when usually comes up to no more than $50-55. When i had the chance to total everything up myself I noticed I must’ve been charged for a deep conditioning which I never was spoken to about & i’m assuming to cut off a lil bit of ends was another $20. Service here is good but speak to your customers before doing something & charging them for it !

If you dont know about hair they will definitely try to take advantage of you price wise. They sold me these choppy, thin, and overcharged bundles and when i returned them the date of the appointment we scheduled they cancelled because they put me in the calendar for something i absolutely did not ask to book which was supposed to be scheduled weeks in advance. The first time I went here for a balayage i loved the result even though cathy was very rough with my hair, but you shouldn’t be charging luxury prices if you cannot provide even a mediocre quality experience for your clients, and a refund for a bad quality experience is not a favor. Run your business ethically.

I can’t say enough great things about this salon, and especially about my stylist, Tiffany. She has been taking care of my hair for over 2 ½ years, and I couldn’t be happier. Tiffany is incredibly gentle and has helped me keep my hair healthy and strong. I was really nervous about coloring my hair for the first time, but she made the process so easy and enjoyable—I’ve never felt more beautiful! I trust Tiffany completely with my hair, and every visit feels fun and relaxing. There’s never any judgment, just a great experience. My hair has never been in better shape, and I can’t recommend Tiffany enough!

They answered all my questions with patience and recommended services that not only benefited my hair but also made the transition more manageable. I love this place! They truly understand how to work with every hair texture. I love getting silk presses here with the scalp massager & steam. Not to mention, the ladies are so friendly. Recently let Catherine convince me into cutting my hair into a bob, and I absolutely love it! Can’t wait to try another color.

Love this salon. All of the ladies that work there are very welcoming, know how to execute what I ask for, and are quick! Music always puts me in a good mood Update 6/19/24: I've been getting my hair cut at the salon for 4 years now and have always been happy with my cuts from Tiffany and Catherine. I unfortunately decided to dye my hair, and preferred to get it done here because the price was similar to other salons. The reason for my update is because I truly am so unhappy with the results. I wanted to just write a message to Catherine but think that it's only right that I leave an honest review. I got my hair almost entirely bleached, very poorly, when I'd asked for balayage/highlights, and I wish I'd shown her the picture again of what I wanted, but whatever she intended to do was terribly executed. I uploaded a picture from 2 weeks ago. I'm looking at pictures of the trip I wanted to get my hair done for and honestly am so sad that I was walking around like this. Anyway, I leave this here so that others understand what she means when she's going to do your hair free-hand.

EDIT: I got a response back from them claiming there was a price increase from the first time i went. They sent me a text saying to go on the website to see the prices. On 5/20 the website the price for a natural hair wash and set was $50. (this is not what i was charged) As of 5/21 the website has been changed and says the price depends on your hair and length. It’s crazy how she can acknowledge that she is wrong and even changed the website but won’t reach back out to me for a refund. please don’t come here and spend your money at a salon that will actually do your hair correctly. they don’t treat you nice if you don’t speak spanish or look like it. I have been to this salon on two separate occasions. Both times I booked with Tiffany. The first time, everything went smoothly and my hair came out great. I only wished she was able to get it straight with just the flat iron like the Dominican salons usually do. I’m all the way from Queens so the commute is a lot but I knew I wanted to come back. The second time was my final time unfortunately. Tiffany washed and rolled my hair but when it was time to get the blow out she was working on someone else. I had to get a blow out by Cathy (owner). I was a bit annoyed because I did not make an appointment with her but I figured that she’s the owner she should know what she’s doing. This is not an authentic Dominican salon. I grew up getting wash and sets and never needed a flat iron after. She barely applied any tension to my head and only used a comb to blow it out. I asked for flat iron because I needed it super straight for an event. The first time I was charged $5 for adding on the flat iron (which is crazy, but I was okay with it). Cathy thought I didn’t speak spanish and I heard her asking her coworkers how much they think they should charge me. Cathy was persistent on $10. When it was time to pay the bill way way higher than the last time but I did not notice until I left. Everything had a $10 increase and she charged me $10 for the flat iron. I wouldn’t need the flat iron if you knew how to blow out hair correctly. I was also charged $30 for a TRIM. I’m sorry but she’s absolutely ridiculous with the prices for mediocre work. She’s also ridiculous for assuming I did not understand her Spanish. It’s weird to treat non-spanish speaking customers like that when they are the ones keeping your business alive!

Me encanto! Un lugar muy acogedor y limpio, y debo decir que la atención fue perfecta . La verdad estaba decepcionada de trabajos anteriores que tenia en mi pelo así que lo único que quería era una pequeña mejora , pero WOW el cambio fue magnífico! , no solo me recomendaron un buen tono si no que también un bello corte, y el peinado espectacular. Lo super recomiendo! Yo he ido desde NJ y quedo muy satisfecha. No duden en ir chicas!

In English: came into this place with the intention of getting a wash and blowout, layers a V cut and !keep the length! (i stated this three times and she even repeated it to me) i ended up with three inches chopped off my hair. the cut is not even what i asked for, she ended up giving me a butterfly cut which was cute with the styling, until i woke up the next morning to see a choppy mess (i did not want a high maintenance haircut- therefore why i asked for the cut i did from the picture- it basically just looked like one long layer and that is what i wanted and showed her). on top of this, they told my sister my cut would be 20$ over the phone but ended up being an extra 50$, her wash and blow ended up going from 45$ to 55$. (they charged an extra 5$ for straightening and previously visited salons do not even require a straightener because they do a good enough job flattening with just the blower. she also ended up with very obvios flyaways and they didn’t put any oil or anything- mine was fine o for oil after the cut. it lasted from 10-1:40pm. the place looks welcoming and clean but very disappointed with my results, just wanna cry bc growing my hair is on my mind 24/7 and this just restarted me back all the way to the beginning (p.s, it was about under my chest/ bra-line, now it’s up to my armpit) // En español: Llegué aquí con la intención de hacerme un lavado y secado, capas en forma de V y ¡mantener el largo! (Dije esto tres veces, incluso me lo repitió) Terminé con tres pulgadas de cabello cortado. el corte ni siquiera es lo que pedí, ella terminó dándome un corte de mariposa que era lindo con el estilo, hasta que me desperté a la mañana siguiente y vi un desastre entrecortado (no quería un corte de pelo de alto mantenimiento, por eso pedí el corte que está en el imagen; básicamente parecía una capa larga y eso es lo que quería y se lo mostré). Además de esto, le dijeron a mi hermana que mi corte sería de 20$ por teléfono, pero terminaron siendo 50$ extra, su lavado y secado terminaron pasando de 45$ a 55$. El total salió a 160$ para las dos (Cobraron $ 5 adicionales por alisar y los salones visitados anteriormente ni siquiera requieren una plancha porque lo pueden alisar muy bien solo con el soplador. Ella también terminó con cabellos sueltos muy obvios y no le pusieron aceite ni nada - El mío estuvo bien para el aceite después del corte, duró de 10 a 1:40 p.m. el lugar se ve acogedor y limpio, pero estoy muy decepcionado con mis resultados, solo quiero llorar porque siempre tengo en mente hacer crecer mi cabello las 24/7. me reinició desde el principio (p.d., estaba debajo de mi pecho/línea del sostén, ahora me llega hasta la axila)

Worst experience I ever had with a salon, they washed my hair and was suppose to get a blowout and just sat with wet hair for two hours and they pretended that I wasn’t there. DO NOT GO SCAMMERS!

First time customer. Was referred by my friend. I was seen by Stylist Tiffany. She was very pleasant and worked great on my natural hair to transform into a silk press. I am satisfied with the results and plan to return for another service in a near future. No deposit is required to make your appt. And availability was rather flexible to accommodate. Location is easy to get to and the establishment itself is well maintained I felt a good vibe and sense of calm overall from beginning to end of my visit. Would recommend to my natural girlies and super reasonable price for silk press/blow out compared to many others out there.

I had to change my review because the last time i went there they washed my hair in COLD water without giving me a heads up, and to add insult to injury, they then went up $15 from what i would normally pay. Don't get me wrong: i ALWAYS tip with no problem. But after having my hair washed in cold water without even being asked if i wouldnt mind that, I feel i should have only paid half price. Its not like they told me this before hand. I was disappointed and turned off! Dont think i will be going back there. MOST PEOPLE WHO ARE SAYING THEY ARE THE BEST ARE LYING!!! you have been warned people!!!

I went there for a hair prep for my braiding appointment, it was only 40 dollars. They’re natural hair friendly, fast, and very kind. I recommend this place to a lot of people and I will be coming here again for a wash & set!

Short version: if you want a silk press /blowout look without your hair being fried off, book Tiffany! Tiffs hands are blessed okkkkk! I live for my wash days because it’s also head massage day 💆🏾‍♀️ it’s been a game changer for stress management and my hair growth. Tiffany is so gently but also through. Overall my hairs healthier and lasts up to 2 weeks (beautifully 💁🏾‍♀️) before I need a wash. Book my girl! but just not spot or I’ll have to take this review down 🤣 Added photos so y’all can see much motion my hair has. I’m 80% natural btw, and despite bi weekly appointments no heat damage!

The salon is clean, nicely decorated, and they use quality products (Moroccan Oil and Olaplex). All of the stylist are kind and welcoming. I went in with no specific plan. I told Catherine I just wanted her to bring my brown mop (hair) back to life. I fully trusted Catherine’s professional option and it was worth it. She transformed my hair into a beautiful vibrant blonde (Full Highlights, Root Shadow, and Toner). I both feel and look better than I did when entered. Thank you!! Bonus: their playlist is fantastic (throwback R&B).

Tiffany did a color, cut and style about two weeks ago and she did amazing! She listened to everything I wanted and gave me some helpful tips and I’ve been obsessed with my results! The salon is also so cute and comfortable it’s worth the trip! Can’t wait to go back
