For the amount I paid it was not worth it.. I would never recommend this shop to anyone. The thing is my gps lead me here turns out the shop I was looking for is actually 2 minutes from there . I went to the wrong shop and they did an horrible job. False advertisement

The staff is friendly and accommodating. The braid quality was excellent and service was quick. Shop is clean. 9/28/24 update. Went today previous review still stands. I love my hair!!

Even though I’m a frequent customer, I go at least four times to six times a year. All I wanted was my braids taken down so I could wash my hair and get it done again. The person on the phone was kind of rude, maybe because of the language barrier. But I am huge on customer service. If you’re unable to understand your customer, you definitely need to invest in getting someone to answer your phone. Someone who can speak to your customers in a polite manner, so you don’t lose business.

I got my hair braid on June 30th. I get there at 9:15am they didn’t start on my hair until 10am. It’s only been two weeks my kinky twist are come out. Everyone in the shop is not licensed to do hair. I spend 180 dollars. Only for my hair to be coming down already. I do believe when she was cleaning up my braids they was cutting my natural hair as well. When I said something to her about cutting my hair. She ignored me and said my hair is in the braid. I could see my hair fall on cap which it was so easy to recognize because my hair is completely gray!!! Also in the middle of my head I notice not all my hair was twisted up. I wouldn’t recommend this shop at all!! Stay away!!!

Been here before LOVED the work LOVED the customer service. This time I chose singalese I had never had before. Got them May 14th not even a week and several were hanging 2 inches from my scalp. My hair is not short so I'm not sure why they're sliding. I called to see if they could be fixed and was told the shop wouldn't be open until June 1st. By the time June 1st hit I had lost several braids and more braids hanging 2inches from my scalp. At this point I'm just trying to make it to a month so I won't feel like the $220 I paid was a complete loss. Braids were BEAUTIFUL though 😏

I had an appointment scheduled at 3pm didn’t start on my head until 4:45 this was the day before Christmas i showed her a specific picture the girl did whatever she wanted to do. I told her that’s not what I asked for she took some down and redid them I wanted lemonade braids I was there until 10pm at night 6 days later my braids were being lifted from my scalp pulling my edges , and the left side of my hair out I reached out to them personally and they discounted $20 off of a $140 hair style & I provided my own hair I didn’t receive my money they offered me a discounted hair style for the day they wanted me to come but I had to work so I just said forget it they can keep it but I’ll never be going there to get my hair done nor do I recommend this place !!!

I have mixed sized braids in my hair. My braids are secure in front and the size I asked for but braids in back are not size I asked for or secure. Braids are sliding in back and are not of quality. Braider continued to stop on my hair several times to assist others without my asking. It hasn’t even been a month. I just got my hair braided March 19th.

I always set appointments when I come to Beauty Secrets African Braids, the women are ALL talented and they try their very best to accurately satisfy every client. I have never been disappointed leaving my chair, the ladies negotiate with you and are very respectful and friendly. Whatever hairstyle I ask for they always make it look better than expected, BESIDES THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS.. You cannot please everybody! I would recommend every black woman wanting her hair braided to come here. Just make sure you grow your hair to an acceptable length so your braids can stay in longer. 😊♥️. Love this place.

I got my hair done there a few weeks ago. Box braids. I went in there knowing my hair is a bit short and may not be able to do box braids at it's current length. After being there since 8:30AM (My appointment time) and the owner of the salon, who was doing my hair, didnt arrive until maybe 9:30am. We didn't actually start until 10am. I asked her BEFORE we started, if my hair was long enough to do it. If not, I would wait a few months and come back. She said she could do it, but would have to charge me extra since it was so short and we would have to be there all day. We agreed on $200 before she got started. After she washed my hair and actually got started, she had me pay. She said it was $210. Where the extra $10 came from, I'm unsure. Perhaps for washing my hair. But i would have had it washed if she told me when i made the appointment a week before. Throughout 8 hours I was there, she stopped many times to be on her phone. With no breaks, I sat there for 8 hours getting my hair done. Granted I expected the time and price when going in. What I didn't expect was my hair to be falling out after 2 weeks of being in, when I was told it would last 2 MONTHS. And because I asked before if my hair was long enough, and she said it was, and even charged EXTRA to do it, I'm not satisfied with this company. I would have been happy if they would at least last a month. I will not be returning to this salon. Especially since I drove an hour, paid $210, and spent 8 hours in a chair, just for it to fall out. A waste of money.

I love love coming here to get my hair braided...I live out west and definitely don't mind the drive!! In and out in about 4 hours and my hair is growing greatly and I have edges!!!!

I will not be returning to this shop !! I was a walk-in at 230p, i asked the wait time for sengelese , the braider Tamara said they could right now so we walked over to her chair, she did one braid & said give me 5m so that she could eat, i said okay & waited patiently, she came right back & started. She did the right side extremely quick but then slowed down after i paid in the middle of the style , on the left side. So some time go by its now about 6 & shes on her phone, i didnt say nothing so some time goes by its about 9p and she get back on her phone I turnrd around and said “ excuse me can you please come on ? Ive been here for 7 hours to get a 4-5h style and ive been here for to long ) she said im sorry but its not like im not still doing your hair , i said thats not the point ive been here for entirely long that’s unprofessional to be on your phone . The lady across from us who was braiding said “ anyways you are almost done “ IT DOES NOT MATTER I BEEN THERE ENTIRELY TO LONG, get off your phone !! Everybody who got there after me was done before me ! Even new people who arrived left before me. She finished her last braid at 945 i did not leave until 1030p . That’s unprofessional! Horrible 1st experience.

This shop is TERRIBLE, the owner and another braider were both braiding and yanking on my hair at the same time , then the owner would stop braiding for extended periods of time to look at her phone and laugh with the other braiders. I asked for kinky twist and showed her a picture of the style, she went on to say that's not kinky twist that's Nubian twist and that she could do that style but that is NOT AT ALL WHAT SHE DID. The style wasn't even close, I HATE MY hair after sitting over 6 hours and paying 170....NEVER AGAIN!!

Rosie the owner has been braiding and weaving my hair since 2004, she is Great, as are the others working in the salon. Great prices and quality work! More importantly they care about your hair!! 9/27/18
