Had a great experience with Sara (balayage, haircut). She is very knowledgable and gave me great recommendations on what color would be best for my hair. She is very meticulous and clearly loves her job - would highly recommend!

Certain stylists are talented (mine was) and others have good reviews. One star is given because I am not the type of person who thinks paying $120 and being treated like a poor, unreasonable customer by the owner is ok. My glasses were very darkened from hair dye. I asked my great stylist if I should remove my glasses during the processing, and he said no. You can see the picture, and that is after about 40 minutes of lightening by the receptionist of soaking. Everything about to be written is a summary of my perceived my experience and not direct quotes: The owner came out, claimed it was my fault I didn't remove my glasses despite what my stylist said (ok I am -5 and -6 astigmatism prescription which means I cannot see safely at all). If I can have good eyesight at the advice of my stylist leaving frames in of course I will! She said if I cared about my frames I should have taken them off. I came here because my two usual salons couldn't take me last minute. Never had an issue with my glasses getting darkened up with dye with either of the two. I asked for a solution, and she suggested to leave them there for a few hours. I AM UNABLE TO SEE safely. She asked me to sit for a free blowdry - I do not feel this was adequate because I had places to be and it is a very basic add on. Perhaps I could bring them back later, but I am not allowed to wear contacts. I could have had the glasses evaluated for proper cleaning or part replacement externally to avoid guessing on proper correction - but before I even said anything the owner closely said: I will not be giving you any compensation. In my opinion: What???! Not even an offer of a refunded hair color service. I called her out for poor customer service, and her reply was closely worded to - what do you want me to do - lay on the ground for you? Then the stylist who did my hair came over and suggested maybe they should compensate me. She seemed to shush him and said it should be taken out of his check. So I waited 40 minutes for a non expert correction, missed my next appointment which cost me $200 for canceling, and the stain is lighter but still exists. Also you can see the material has been harshly treated. I finally had to go, and the owner who was being very polite to her next customer from my point of view - pointed out to me there are sleeves I could have wrapped my frames in and to ask next time. I said "Yes bc somehow this is still my fault" ... she proceeded to say "deal with it"! No 50 percent off offer, no mam we will get it taken care of externally at your convenience (I have very bad eyesight and could not have left them), no sorry this happened, NOTHING. The owner seemed to care more about bottom line for 120 dollars than altering up my property negatively that I use for HEALTH. Skip unless you are ok with similar potential experiences. The place is always packed so I suppose the stylists are good, but according to my experience ownership has a negative attitude towards problems with services.

I have gone to Sara a few times and I have to say she’s wonderful! She is always accommodating and works with me on what I want! I’ve done highlights with her and she always makes sure she goes above and beyond to make sure they come out the way I like them. I look forward to booking my appointment again with her in a few months!

Sara is simply a magician. She took my long, dry strands, and gave them shape and the most beautiful color. I was nervous about getting my hair balayaged and had a very specific vision in mind, and she was patient and kind, and listened to every detail of what I wanted. She stayed late (after the rest of the staff had left and closed shop) to finish my cut and styling! THANK YOU Sara -- I cannot recommend her enough, and will certainly be returning to Besu in the future :)

Sarah did my hair and was amazing!! She asked me which color I wanted for my partial balayage and then gave her suggestions that were different than mine. We ended up mixing two colors together! She was kind, careful and thorough. She also seemed genuinely excited to blow out my hair. I was particularly impressed that she wanted to wait to cut my hair until after blowing it out so that I could see it dry first. Can’t wait to return- The other workers there were amazing, kind and gracious too! Thanks!!

For 30 years only 3 ppl have had cut my hair, I dt let anyone touch it, I gave a try with Sara and I left so happy with the results. She did a treatment as well, and around 3 weeks after, my hair still feels so soft and looks amazing. Also, everybody so nice! From the brasilian lady who wash your hair (sorry forgot her name) was a sweetheart!! The male hairstylish who worked on my 14yo son's hair ( he was so so nice!!) And of course Sara who was on time and attentive the all time to make us feel confortable and give the rigt services. Was a great experience, thank you guys!!!

Holly is the most incredible stylist and she completely saved my hair. I had been at another salon in New York and the stylist absolutely butchered my hair - I had to stop her in the middle of the haircut. I googled "best salon in New York" and Besu came up for having recently won an award. When I got there, Holly calmed me down and convinced me to wait a few days before deciding what to do - chop it all off to even it out and fix it, or let it be fixed gradually to keep my long length. I was ready to chop it all off that night to fix it, but I am so glad Holly told me to call her in a few days, which I did. Ever since, Holly has done an amazing job with haircuts and color! I wouldn't trust anyone else the way I trust Holly, her work and her opinion!

I just went to Besu for a balayage with Sara for the third time and she did a lovely job again! I think after years of trying different salons, I found my favourite colorist in the city. Her technique creates a natural look but is not that damaging for the hair and gives long lasting results. Sara is also very attentive to my wishes and can offer an advice from her experience to make it work out the best. She has a great sense of style and finds an individual approach to your hair. Highly recommend!

My ends are bright neon hot pink . Avoid this salon. They messed up my hair the first time then claimed they could color correct it , made it worse and made me pay twice. They claimed to be related to balayage me, don’t get the Groupon, avoid at all costs

This place is amazing ! I went for partial balayage and was treated like royalty. The owner was very accommodating and was able to give me the time I was looking to come and do my hair. Fernando cut my hair and did an amazing job!!! Exactly what I was looking for and spent so much time making it perfect!! My hair is super fine and straight so most people just cut it straight across or do horrible layers, but Fernando did an awesome job giving it body and making it look thick and healthy! My hair also needed some TLC so they did 3 rounds of conditioner and it helped so much!

My expectations have been exceeded, thanks to Fatima! Fatima is so amazing and followed through with my requests. I came in looking to completely change the the color of my hair and go back to my roots with ashier blonde tones. She calmly and confidently assured me that she could make it happen and she did!! My hair dresser Sara is amazing. I’m a mother of 2 boys & I usually don’t have time to take care of myself. However, I like making time for Sara because she doesn’t waste my time. She accommodates me whenever possible even on the days when her hours are late, she’ll come in early just for me. She’s easy to talk to and I always leave Besu learning something new from her. I find her honesty refreshing. She’s not afraid to tell me if a certain hair color or style wouldn’t be appropriate for me. Instead, she’d make a recommendation that I’m happy to walk out with. I feel like a new person when I leave her. Love that girl!

The girl that worked on my hair doesn’t have a license didn’t go to school and is working. Sara damaged my hair supposedly she did a lasio keratin but, there was something else in the bottle it messed up my hair. Their products are cheap and they lie to their customers acting that they are using what the bottle says but, it’s substitute with cheap products. I strongly suggest you don’t go to this salon they are a fraud.

Tucked away in the back of Besu Salon is "facial paradise". Alla is the best esthetician I've ever known. Her facials are consultative and thorough. My skin literally glows for days afterwards. She has a medical background which informs the holistic treatment of your skin. She has a wonderful, calm, nurturing demeanor. The face and neck massages she incorporates into the treatment are deeply relaxing while boosting circulation. She's the best.

Sara is an absolute gem! Very professional and knowledgeable. She did my full-head balayage twice already and her suggestions for toner and styling have always accentuated my natural face features. Holly is absolutely amazing. She transformed my hair and got it to the level of blonde I was hoping previous stylists would for ages but she was the one who finally got it right! And she did it without damaging my hair and taught me so much about caring for it that was very helpful. I read a lot of reviews before coming to her so I knew she was one of the most credible in the city. She’s also got an amazing personality so you will love getting to work with her. Also she is a master at threading too so she can handle your brows in a moment right at the chair! So great. Highly recommend going to Holly! Love her! :)

I found this salon and after looking at the reviews I decided to make an appt. I spoke with David and he was very professional and knew what he was doing. I was skeptical at first because some salons overcharge and don’t do such a great job but even though they were a bit pricey, I have to say it was completely worth it! David did an amazing job with my hair and he did exactly what I wanted and hoped for. I get sooooo many compliments on my hair. I definitely am now a loyal customer and will be back!! I love this place!!! I am so happy i work next door and can just pop in for a quick style! They always find some time for me. They are all so nice. I’ve came here a couple times for hairstyling and every time is really good (even though my hair is super oily and hard to style) their hairstyles last all day and even the next day. My sister came here for a balayage and David did an amazing job. Even though she had previously damaged her hair, David took a lot of precaution and care and the result was gorgeous. The haircuts here are pretty good too. And the price is very competitive. i am a SUPER PICKY customer. I spend hundreds of dollars on my hair products every month. And i HIGLY RECOMMEND THEM!
