I recently had the pleasure of getting my stitch braids done by Jadon, and I couldn't be happier with the results! From start to finish, Jadon was professional, attentive, and incredibly skilled. The atmosphere in the salon was welcoming and relaxing. Jadon's technique is top-notch; each braid is perfectly placed and tight without being uncomfortable. He took his time to ensure everything looked flawless while also keeping me engaged in conversation throughout the process. UPDATE 2024 Again I have been coming to BJ since I was a teen. It is STILL the best location, I'm looking to get my hair done that is it...I don't need an "experience". Sometimes things are just about the work and what is produced. The people that have had a not great situation from just what I have witnessed is them coming in with a bad attitude and mad bc of whatever happen and I don't know they want blood from them or something when they are more then willing to fix the concern. then they leave a bad review. Here is what you get...GREAT conversation, GREAT music, laughs and giggles AND you may walk away learning something...oh and the price is right. 2023 I have been coming here since I was 17 years old. I am in my 40's now and BJ's is still my go to for my braids. There is order in the store, the guys are entertaining and keeps everything at peace and moves the process along in a profess manner (you know lol) I would absolutely recommend. Let me be clear...this is not in and out when you come bring your patience with you, you will not be out in an hour. It gets busy.

A long time ago I went to Billie Jean’s hair salon in Harlem Adam Clayton Boulevard What I remember the most about that hair salon that it was very crowded. It’s a popular place.my hair stylist name is bunni she was very upset because her boss told her she couldn’t leave yet let’s keep in mind that it was July 4. When I was there years ago. I just can’t remember exactly what year so forgive me for that y’all she asked me what hairstyle I want and I told her the flat twist with a bun on top. Everything was ok until I got back home and then I noticed that the twist started to get tighter and tighter I couldn’t lay on my left side . I couldn’t lay on my righ side I couldn’t lay on my damn back. I started to get a migraine headache. My eyes were light red. My scalp was cherry red so when I untwisted the hairstyle that I just got done, so I couldn’t brush my hair couldn’t comb my hair. It was really bad. I put conditioner in my hair. to try to make it soft so I can at least brush it or Comb it three weeks later, so whoever wants to continue still going to that hair salon, if that hairstylist bunny, still works there, you need to be very mindful of letting her do your hair so what I’m saying is I haven’t been back to that hair salon since that bad experience and yes, I’m sorry. I took so long to say something about my experience.

A VERY UNPROFESSIONAL ATMOSPHERE! ALL THE WORKERS DO IS TALK ABOUT THE CUSTOMERS. THE CUSTOMERS THAT JUST RECEIVED SERVICES INCLUDING THE CUSTOMERS THAT CALLS IN INQUIRING ABOUT PRICING & AVAILABILITY. DEFINITELY NOT THE SAME FLOW OF TRAFFIC HOW IT USE TO BE AND I SEE EXACTLY WHY! THIS BUSINESS HAS DEFINITELY WENT DOWN HILL AND IT WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO IF THE STAFFING CONTINUES TO SPEAK BADLY ABOUT EVERYONE THAT VISIT THEIR SHOP FOR A SERVICE. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE!! THEY WILL TALK ABOUT YOU FROM THE MOMENT YOU CALL IN UNTIL THE TIME YOU LEAVE OUT. Grandson and I stopped by hair salón on 135th to get two strand twist. As we walked in no one greeted us we waited, waited until I had to walk to someone asked them do they do this style. She told me to ask the lady sitting on the phone. This person that sits at the front on the phone heavy set woman unprofessional. Ignore us the entire time my grandson said lets leave he was not feeling the vibe and he's 12 years old. This is not the Billie Jeans from 116th street lots of workers there. There were only two people working on a Saturday. Ms. Joyce was always welcoming and onsite this lady in charge is a hot mess. Will not return.

Omg I was Soo pleased on how Lisa didy box braids with the hair out .idk what it's call but she knew and I'm Soo pleased. This my 2nd time back the first time I got flat twist and my hair was short and billy jeans did a good job..I will definitely make this my braiding home...

For many years when they were located between 116th and 115th they were not perfect but good. I recently went to their new location on 135th and Adam Clayton Powell Blvd. What a disappointment. Looks like they traded down in terms of space. They told us that they could not do my child's hair since they close at 5pm. It was 1:30pm. We just decided to leave. My sense is that they are no longer the Billie Jean's I knew and loved. I wish them well but we will not be coming back.

If you’re looking for professionalism/timeliness/a working credit card machine then this is not the place. Yesterday I waited over two hours after my appointment because my braider was working on someone else at the time. They didn’t have the hair for the style so I had to walk 3 blocks away to get it. Their card machine never works, hairdressers are never on time (I don’t know what the point of making an appointment is) and they’re just like any other hood spot like “that’s just the way it is”attitude but that shouldn’t be tolerated. There are plenty of other places to get hair braided this is not it. They’re kind of rude on top of it all. Never going back and I DO NOT RECOMMEND. Lisa is aggressive and unprofessional

September 2022, I scheduled an online appointment, for children box braids, which was $90 at the time, hair included and I prepaid the deposit amount asked. My daughter loved and was happy with all of her hairstyles and the stylists. Mary, Esperanza and Lisa Thank You Ladies, For Your Professional Services, My Daughter and I Appreciate You All! Now, The Problem Called Heather! Whom upon entry, started off wrong, telling me, my child is getting cornrows and I said, no she is not! It's box braids, than she checks the computer and says? Yes, It is box braids! Now, Esperanza is halfway finished, unlike Sylvia, whom was doing box braids, before Esperanza, started my daughter hair. Here goes, Sylvia and Heather, talking about the size of the braids and that's when Heather cones up with this new price and no hair is included in this new price. Ok! I prepaid a locked in price. Now the style is more, from Heather's mouth, than what it says online? Yeah ok! That's An FTC Visit! Heather's website prices, was not matching the words coming out of Heather's mouth! Now, I'm Like Whatever, Heather, You'll See! I always screenshot all payments, regardless of the email expected. I tried to politely, express this to Heather and she was Disrespectful, Which, Caused Me To Match Her Disrespect? I'm not checking nothing online! I made it clear to Heather, that's called FALSE ADVERTISING On The Price And The Size Of The Box Braid Size, Which Clearly States Medium Size With Hair included. Heather, You're Horrible, Seriously! If You Thought, I was giving up anything more than the balance of $90, You Seen, I Wasn't Doing It Either! She grabs the shop phone, go outside and make a call(s), Whatever! Aren't You The HBIC? Who Shows Up Melanie, OK! Heather Was Given, The Balance I Knew, I Owed! Heather Your Nasty Aura, Unprofessionalism, Attempting A FALSE BUSINESS ADVERTISING Move On Me, Being Disrespectful, When The Client Is Clearly Telling You, Heather, I Can Read It's In Black And White Print. This is my first time getting hair braided at their new location I have not lived in city for 15 years. The staff was funny made me laugh and did beautiful neat braids on my hair & my daughters hair will return we got medium size box braids. Great prices.
