Zach was AMAZING! He colored my daughter’s pixie cut from her natural blond to fire engine red and it looks incredible! Zach was so sweet and patient working with my 7yo. He explained everything he did before hand and made sure she was happy with it. He explained our choices and made sure we knew the pros and cons for each option. The results were so cool! Not only is Zach an incredibly talented colorist, he’s also a very lovely person. We will definitely be back.

I’m giving three stars because I’ve had my haircut here so many times and I’ve always loved every single cut. But the stylist I had today, Zach, couldn’t be bothered to listen, couldn’t bother to clean his station. I felt like all the equipment was using seemed dirty and unsanitized. I had to reiterate multiple times the number and how high I wanted my haircut. My ears were snagged multiple times and I’ve never had someone try to give me a fade with scissors. Not to mention he’s covered in stains, smelled like onions and just seemed off the whole time. Will I come back? Absolutely! I just have to make sure I do not get a cut by him again.

I've had two great experiences here in the past, and that's why I gave two stars. But my 3rd experience did not go well. I selected anyone around lunchtime. That may not have been a good idea. The stylist seemed like they had their own ideas about my hair. I asked them how much length I had and they replied it's really difficult to know because everyone has a different reference. I guess a ruler was out of the question. I didn't need perfection but that's why I asked them in the first place. The second noteworthy thing was, they did not ask how long I wanted my hair length in the back. Just informed me they were using a number 6 guard. I didn't know what that meant. But they just started taking off all the length in the back. I did not want that and they were not clear about what they were doing. The person that cut my hair said they/them had been doing hair since 2011. What I want to know is what were they doing with the hair?? Definitely not learning from mistakes.

Bishops is fantastic! The staff is always friendly and welcoming. We are always offered a beverage when we arrive which is a nice touch! My kid and I always get great haircuts at a great price.

I made an appointment for today at 2:30, then they called me asked me if we could move it to 3 with a different barber. That was totally fine. So I went in expecting to have them wash my hair and cut it like they always do because that’s what I put down for my appointment. However the woman cutting my hair just sat me down and asked what I wanted. I just wanted it blunt above my shoulders. She didn’t ask or fix my middle part and she just starting cutting my dry hair. The entire haircut took a total of 4 minutes and I’ve never left so disappointed. I tipped 25% and spent a good amount of money on this haircut because i thought once I got home it would look better after I washed it, I was wrong. It’s completely uneven. I’m so incredibly disappointed.

I sat outside for 20 minutes past my 10am appointment time to be greeted by someone other than the stylist I requested. They were unapologetic and offered nothing in way of information about the situation other than my overhearing of him leaving my stylist a voicemail in a hushed tone. He'd rather have me sit there waiting for someone who may or may not be on there way, rather than be considerate of my time. It's a great way to alienate repeat business (dozen or two haircut over many years/other stylists) when they are the ones not holding their end of the social contract known as an appointment.

Maria did amazing with my hair. She cut off all the damaged pieces and took her time layering my hair carefully. Afterwards she showed me in the mirror the layering process she did. I am really impressed with the cut and how affordable it was. Would def go back again.

Not sure who is running this place these days but the extreme dip in quality is not something I'm happy about. Went in yesterday and overall had a very lame experience. First off, I got maybe the worst haircut of my adult life - it looks like the ones my friends gave me in high school with the family set of clippers & zero training. When you ask for a trim and after some back & forth decide on cutting about an inch but then end up having pretty much all your hair hacked off and your cowlicks shaved you have to wonder if the person doing it has any clue what they are actually doing...only wish I realized the extent of this during the cut instead of at home after it's all said and done. Between the cancelled appointments for various reasons, the person you booked with not being the one that does the cut, and the ridiculous passive aggressiveness between staff when customers are present (looking at you Maria! You're at work, put your desk or whatever together on your own time and stop staring daggers at customers who are waiting patiently for you to help your coworker do their job) are all reasons enough for me to choose any other place within a few miles to get my hair cut in the future.

The salon needs AC or maybe it wasn’t turned on during my visit Also, there were a non pleasant BO smell across the salon and My stylist just smoked a cigarette before trimming my hair and beard which added another smell to the whole odors combo

While the service was great, this is the first time I go to a shop and my hair has been cut poorly. I asked to make my undercut a bit higher and they made it way higher, it wasn’t lined up properly at all. They also cut some hair that wasn’t part of the undercut so now the flyaways are crazy. I’m so sad about this because now I have to fix it and my hair will be extremely shorter than I initially wanted it to.

Good atmosphere. The stylists are skilled and will accommodate you however you need. Waters for waiting. Great place. Been multiple times and had multiple stylists and they've all been excellent.

I have written a review about Bishops before, as I had previously received an amazing walk-in cut from a stylist named Aaron. Having gone a year without a haircut, and being unable to see my previous stylist of 7 years, I was pretty nervous to try something/someone new. Walking out of Bishops that time, I just knew I’d be returning (something I almost never experienced in the past, as a guy that’s very attached to his long hair and usually experiences some regret after a cut). For my last two haircuts I’ve seen LaKeisha, and let me tell you I could not be more pleased. She gave me exactly what I was hoping for — better, actually! LaKeisha is wonderful at what she does and I highly recommend her. My girlfriend LOVES the way my hair looks right now. I will definitely continue going to Bishops for every cut. Thanks so much, y’all!!

So happy with my experience. Made a very drastic change going from long hair (past my shoulders) to very short. Maria did a great job looking over the pictures I brought and discussing with me what I wanted. She even checked in with me multiple times throughout the cut to make sure I was getting exactly what I wanted and was comfortable with it. Love the cut she gave me!

Devan was my hair stylist and she did an amazing job with my cut and was super sweet! Just moved here to Austin and I on a whim scheduled an appointment with Zach for a cut and a coloring of my hair. Was immediately greeted by the owner Stuart and was treated so well! Zach was honestly amazing and I could tell that he had alot of experience under his belt and I knew that I was in good hands! I'm glad that I went here first! Thank you Zach for your great work and Stuart for the rundown of Austin! 😊

The whole process was chaotic… The first picture is my hair color that I came in with, the second is the inspiration photos I gave stylist #1, the third picture is how it came out, and the 4th is today after stylist #2 tried to save the mess up. When I left the salon on Wednesday after stylist #1 had finished my s/o was taken back that I decided on blue black, I didn’t actually and no where in the inspiration pictures do any of those photos look blue black. I called and spoke to Stewart the manager/owner and I explained I’d kindly like it refunded since this is clearly not what was asked for and he informed that they don’t do refunds but I could come in and get it fixed.. I explained that it is impossible to achieve chocolate brown when your hair is black and he said they had a way to do so. Knowing this is incorrect I still agreed to come in and have them look at it to see what they could do so he scheduled me Saturday evening with stylist #1 (who made the mistake of dying too dark). Next day (Saturday) I get a VM saying he made a mistake with scheduling and her books were actually blocked out and that he could get me in on Sunday and to call him back. When I called back the shop answered the phone unprofessionally and told me the manager had left for the weekend to go to the beach (not information that needs to be given). I asked the person on the phone if they could put me in for the earliest time with stylist #1 and they did so for 10am. Today (Sunday) was my fix appt and when I get to the salon stylist #1 was not even on the schedule and I had been put on someone else’s books. He was great and made me feel very comfortable that he could get my hair right, but I asked him to first tell me what color my current hair was and his response was “blue black.” He talked to me about what he’d do as far as achieving the fix and although I DID NOT want to lighten or lift my hair I felt comfortable enough with how he was handling the situation and agreed to have him highlight it to create some dimension to the darkness. He highlighted and glossed but that service is more $ than the all over color I paid for on Wednesday. He didn’t charge me the difference but I obviously am going to tip someone who works on my head, especially since he was fixing someone else’s mistake. The hair still did not turn out to be what I wanted with the highlights but it achieved something so I tipped and left with a smile on my face. I now paid for a service I didn’t like and tipped two stylists, putting me out more money for whatever this is. I wish this was handled more professionally and wish the tip from stylist #1 was transferred to stylist #2 for my whole inconvenience.

Went here a while back for a coloring job and asked for long layers as well as getting my dead ends trimmed. To start, I did not get my dead ends trimmed. I left there with the same split ends I came in with (will admit to saying I wanted to keep my hair long but I also specified that a couple inches off the bottom was okay). Following this I received super choppy/chunky layers that did not blend together in the slightest. I actually came home and compared sections of my hair and so easily could tell how uneven my cut was on the left side from my right. My shortest layers end above my chin, which is not long layers, and there is no smoothness between my layers cuts. It just drops off after my chin. So my front layers make it look like a bowl cut, and then the rest of my hair is long with split ends. Wasn’t going to write a review because I did enjoy my coloring job and my hairdresser was the sweetest, but I am so frustrated and sad about my hair and choppy short layers that I wanted to say something.

first time at this place, decor is artsy, staff is extremely welcoming, was nervous at first bc hair can be an identity for some and i had been going to my previous barber for over 5 years. Steph nailed exactly what i was looking for. Thanks for the great cut!
