The stylist Dio cut my hair way shorter than I asked her to, then proceeded to start blow drying my hair despite my asking her about 4 times to please not to. She completely disregarded all of my instructions then overcharged me about $20 for the haircut. This was my second time visiting and I’d paid about $50 last time so I went back when I realized I’d been overcharged to ask why and the stylist said I’d asked for “extra styling” and that haircuts — contrary to their website — were actually $50 PLUS so they could really charge me whatever they wanted. When I told her I hadn’t asked for extra styling — the only thing I’d asked for were face-framing layers, something I’d gotten last time that didn’t cost extra and that this time the stylist DIDN’T DO, completely ignoring the actual requests I DID make — she proceeded to shake her head and laugh at me until I left. She actually cut one layer on the side then appeared to forget to cut the other side - there was literally one layer on one side of my head. What kind of way is this for a business to operate? Ignoring a customer’s haircut instructions, doing whatever a stylist wants, and charging a customer extra because of this? And when the customer tries to understand (in a nice way, might I add), laughing at them and gaslighting them to believe they should have known there was the potential to get charged an extra $18 for vague reasons? I added a second star because when I tried calling again later in the day to figure out what had happened, there was a very kind employee at the front desk who spoke with a manager and they gave me a refund for the overcharged amount. Never in my life have I had such a horrible experience at a salon but this person made it better. That being said, it is unfortunate that the first experience I had here was so disparate from the second. I wouldn’t recommend coming here because it seems their consistency is completely off and you never know what kind of experience you’ll get.

We had a wonderful experience with Jasmine today! She did an amazing job blowing out my daughter’s thick, curly hair, giving it a nice trim, and adding a little curl at the ends, just as my daughter requested. Jasmine was professional, patient, and so skilled. My daughter and I are both thrilled with the results! We were referred here, and I’m so glad we came. Highly recommend Jasmine for anyone looking for hair services, especially if you have curly hair. Thank you again!

After passing by this salon numerous times, I finally decided to give it a try based on a recommendation from Yelp. My experience was quite positive. A staff member kindly took my jacket to hang for me and offered something to protect my clothes. Gina washed my hair using fruity-smelling products. I opted for Jessica who worked there for 7 years, and the quoted rate for shampoo and blow dry was $40. The total came to $45 after taxes and a credit card transaction fee. The staff patiently attended to me and restroom access was available. With a larger staff at this location, your chances of receiving assistance are higher. I was grateful for option of hair products, especially since I had flyaways. I also appreciated that she didn't simply spray my hair but used a different method instead. As for improvement, it would be beneficial to have something to cover the eyes during services, as product did get on my eyelid. This is a common issue in many salons. Overall, I had a positive experience and would consider returning.

I got one of the best haircuts in NYC with Raj at Blue Ciel on Lexington. And the cost was extremely reasonable for a great hair salon on the Upper East Side. The only other person that could cut my hair the way I like it is in Houston. I use to have to wait for a good haircut whenever I visit my family in Houston a few times a year. Both my wife and I recently got our hair cuts with Raj at the suggestion of our close friend and we both loved our hair cuts. So we’re going to Raj from now on. And I don’t have to wait to go to Houston anymore for a good haircut!

The hairstylist Ilona literally burnt clumps of my hair. I told her I smelled my hair burning and she waved me off, rolled her eyes, and kept drying it. I’ve never been treated like that by a hair stylist and Entire areas of my hair fell out. It was … unreal. They felt bad and didn’t charge me but it was unlike any experience I’ve had at any salon in my life. Never go to her. If you go here, highly recommend Christina only.

Came here for a last minute haircut and was definitely disappointed with the service. To start, the person washing my hair came inside after smoking a cigarette and didn’t wash their hands and began washing my hair with an overwhelming smell of cigarettes. The shampoo they use is definitely not salon quality and comes from an unmarked bottle. Once I sat down, the hair stylist began blowdrying my hair immediately and I had to stop her to confirm she was going to cut my hair. During the blow dry, no heat products were added to my hair or any styling products after. Once I got home I also realized my hair was two different lengths when I asked for straight across. I did not notify the salon so I can’t speak to how they would resolve. Overall the staff was friendly and kind but I definitely will not be back.

I never really write reviews but my experience at this salon just still doesn’t sit right with me. I made an appointment for the day of my birthday about a week or so in advanced. I received multiple confirmation emails and texts including a welcome email that offered 40 dollars off for first time customers. I was so surprised and excited. When I arrived I was told there was no appointment for me on the books. When I showed the 4+ emails I revived they paired me with a stylist. I showed the woman at the front desk the welcome offer and asked if I could use it. She said she hadn’t seen that before and she would get back to me. While I’m getting my hair washed she comes to me and explains “that they have two websites and that they have been trying to remove the one I used to make the appointment and that they do not offer discounts”. This simply does not make sense because I used the website linked to google maps. I didn’t make a scene but I let her know that, I was disappointed as this could be considered false advertising or bait and switch. Next up the hair cut, I told the stylist what I wanted which she ignored. I should have spoken up in the moment but I was just already disappointed and itching to get out of there as none of the brushes or combs were clean & she not use product or heat protection when blowing out my hair. The work she did on my blow out looked good on the day but I was so disappointed that my hair wasn’t cut to my liking. Again I should I spoken up but I just wanted to leave. I am sure if you are a regular client of theirs this place is great. For me, I won’t be coming back.

My mom desperately needed a hair cut. She is a fabulous 84 year old NYC woman but just let taking care of her hair go… I am visiting her for the week and made it my mission to help her find a place that she would be comfortable going to, and then doing a great job. I googled trying to find a place but was overwhelmed. After leaving the MET we passed this salon and my mom was the one to say, let’s try this place… she walked in, was greeted by Raj and with in a few minutes was sitting in his chair! The place was busy and everyone including the customers were smiling and happy. Raj did an amazing job on my mom’s hair- she literally looks 10 years younger. Raj has gained another loyal customer. Highly recommend this salon to anyone! I would be going to Raj too if I had more time here!!!

Alessandro is the first stylist I’ve found in New York that can bring my hair to its full potential with just a cut. He made sure to do face framing pieces and layers that really flatter my face shape. Also love that they are open later than other places nearby. Sometimes it’s nice just to stop by for a blowout.

i went here a while ago for a caramel balayage. they did a great job on my hair and the dye lasted a long time which is great besides the fact that it costed me an OUTRAGEOUS price of $445 when the website stated that a balayage ranged from $100-220. just be aware of the possibility that this salon SEVERELY overcharges you. i am only writing this now (two years later) as i was searching for hair-coloring salons and came across this place.

I had my fair share with hair salons and this place was the gem I was looking for. I walked in an hour early to my appointment and they took me in with open arms. The team assigned me to Jasmine, and let me tell you this lady is a PROFESSIONAL. She knows what she’s doing. I walked in with an uneven hair cut that looked like it was cut by a kid, but it was me. I do have THICK Spanish hair so it’s not easy to get what I want. But Jasmine took care of my hair and I love it. Jasmine is the real deal and I’m definitely coming back again.

I was pleased with my 9am service so much, I felt inclined to book again same time a week later. However, when I arrived for my 9am appointment today, nobody was present at the salon. Lights were turned off and door was locked, even though the salon opens at 8am. I called and called but of course there was no answer as I was staring through the empty window. I quickly scrambled to find a salon in the area that could do my blowout last minute instead. I wouldn’t trust this salon to be present for your appointment on time or at all. Very unprofessional.
